From what I just read, he walked into his mother's classroom, killed her, than just started shooting kids. WTF?

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 12:48 PM) And you can never truly understand this until you're a parent...I know I didn't quite understand it until I *actually* loved something more than my selfish self. My first child is due to be born any day now, I don't even know what to say or think about it.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 12:29 PM) Thats what I dont get, what was your point in shooting kids? Bullied? Lonely? Whatever. Those kids did NOTHING to you. I wonder if the shooter was a parent of a student.

@JoshElliottABC: Sources tell @ABC's @ChrisCuomo that one shooter was 24 years old, armed with four weapons, wearing a bulletproof vest.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 11:38 AM) For something that had zero probability of happening, we sure talked about it a lot. Just like the whole idea of Chase Headley to the White Sox -
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 11:45 AM) Yeah but Detroit overpays everyone, I dont see KC doing that anytime soon. KC only overpays crappy aging OFs

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 09:30 AM) It's not just Lovie, when it comes to injuries all coaches get weird and don't want any info out. No one plays the injury reporting game as much as that coach in Foxboro. -
QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 09:22 AM) Watch the Tigers move Porcello to Pittsburgh in a Hanrahan deal. I hope not. He is their one weak link in the rotation.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 08:20 AM) Lost McCarthy, lost Gomes (replaced by Chris Young), and I really doubt that pitchers and players who have been around forever and ever like Brandon Moss (.954 OPS) and Travis Blackley (3.86 ERA) will continue to find such consistent success. I also wonder about the effectiveness of Bartolo Colon going into next season as well. They have plenty of talent, but there are plenty more questions. What he said. They seemed to get a lot of production from unexpected sources, and I don't expect them to get the same contributions from everyone again.

QUOTE (3E8 @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 08:55 AM) Looks like Detroit got him by upping to 5/$80. Yowza. That's a lot of Little Caesars Pizza.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 08:21 AM) I love the Cubs... Jon Heyman @JonHeymanCBS #tigers are believed at $75M for 5 on anibal. In position to sign, barring mystery team last-minute entry Cubs are out on anibal. #tigers look like tiger are likely winner That's interesting, Rosenthal tweeted a bit earlier that the Cubs upped their offer. Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal Source: #Cubs increase five-year offer to Anibal Sanchez to $77.5M. #Tigers at $75M. Negotiations continue.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 08:23 AM) Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal Source: Wigginton agrees to two-year contract with #STLCards. Total will be in $5M range. Gives team RH bat, versatility. He's gonna do well in STL. That's the type of cheap veteran signing that seems to always work out for the Cardinals. That's the organization I envy. -
QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 08:09 AM) Until they flip the switch, Knicks are the best in the East. Miami did just lose at home to Golden State. Until someone beats LeBron in the playoffs, the Heat are the best in the East.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 08:00 AM) Let's not forget about the very young team that actually stood up and won 94 games and that division. I think we can forget about them, they won't even win 90 next year.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Dec 13, 2012 -> 11:25 PM) I would be fully in support of calling it this. The Big Priest? -
QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 13, 2012 -> 06:29 PM) I wonder just how much more Detroit is offering. The Cubs might have been used as a bargaining chip. LOL If he goes to Detroit, this would be the 3rd Cubs transaction in 5 months that "happened", but then actually didn't.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 13, 2012 -> 05:01 PM) And it's not like they signed him to a below-market deal which will make him easier to trade. I don't get this at all, and it goes against everything Theo and company have done the last year. I just remembered that Sanchez was originally a Red Sox prospect, then left in the Beckett/Hanley deal. Theo probably still has a hard on for him from those days.

Urlacher strikes back: “If he thinks that, that’s fine,” Urlacher said. “Just like a couple of years ago, I think, he tore his ACL and the Packers were actually better without him. You know, they won the Super Bowl. I hope we can duplicate that as well because it won’t hurt my feelings if we go on and win the Super Bowl without me like they did without him. People can say what they want. It feels like I deal with something like this every year. Someone’s always saying something about me. It’s a revolving door every year -
QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 13, 2012 -> 05:20 PM) It makes me wonder why the Royals didn't just sign Anibal Sanchez or Ryan Dempster instead of trading for Shields. It would have cost them no internal talent and the annual money is more or less the same as Shields. That's why they are the Royals, did you really expect them to think of that?
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 13, 2012 -> 04:56 PM) Cubs have some pretty good pitching now, but that deal makes no sense. Yeah, it's just confusing considering everything else that Theo has done & said. Maybe he realized how little pitching the Cubs system truly has or just got tempted from sitting on all that money for so long. 3 straight seasons of 195 IP and ERA between 3.50-3.99, but age 29 on Opening Day. A bit of an overpay, but not an awful deal. Just kinda weird that it's the Cubs.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 13, 2012 -> 02:45 PM) Bourjos won't hit many. Is he even gonna be an Angel in 2013?

The ultimate would be if fans could organize a boycott of the team's first home game. Instead of a welcome back, they can send the players & owners a message. Not sure how feasible that would be though. Other than that though, I'll admit, I'm a sucker, I'll keep going to games. NHL hockey & the Blackhawks are enjoyable, what am I gonna do watch the Wolves? Plus, if I skip this season, I'll have to start from square one in regards to our season tickets, no thanks. In honesty, it's not like this lockout affected me personally, and it saved me a few hundred bucks. -
