  1. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Nov 20, 2012 -> 11:19 AM) I'm pretty damn sure if the Bears would have won last night, I would have taken a lot of heat this morning. This thread is to talk about the NFL, not just the Bears. That's because you talk more s*** than anyone else in this thread. GoSox05 is a big Packers fan, but if the Bears ever beat the Packers again, people aren't gonna ride him and give him heat. Why? Because he is a civil and knowledgable fan and contributes more to the discussion than "MY TEAM IS GONNA WIN THE SUPER BOWL AND EVERY OTHER TEAM SUCKS!"
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 20, 2012 -> 10:26 AM) Jeff Passan ‏@JeffPassan Royals re-sign Jeremy Guthrie to three-year deal. NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
  3. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 20, 2012 -> 09:44 AM) Any news on Jeffrey? link
  4. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 20, 2012 -> 09:29 AM) And now we play the Vikings twice (6-4) and the Packers once (7-3) and Seattle (6-4). Luckily we have Seattle at home, although they have managed to beat us in Chicago recently. That Seattle game was the Caleb Hanie pick-6 extravaganza last year. I left Soldier Field in the 3rd quarter of that one. Russel Wilson's home/splits are ridiculous: Home: 122.0 rating, 11 TD, 0 INT, 5-0 record* Away: 65.8 rating, 4 TD, 8 INT, 1-4 record
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 20, 2012 -> 08:08 AM) Brad Biggs ‏@BradBiggs 5.5 sacks by Aldon Smith is most ever vs. #Bears topping 4 by #Packers Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila in 2005 meeting. With two more games vs. Jared Allen and one more with Clay Matthews, the Bears will be a huge player in the NFL sacks title. I still can't believe they shut down J.J. Watt.
  6. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Nov 20, 2012 -> 08:04 AM) Maybe you should read my inbox messages that I have received over the last few months Well then go after those people in your inbox, don't troll this thread where people are actually trying to have NFL discussions. And going back over the last month or so of posts in this thread, you were the one hyping the Bears up more than any Bears fan around here.
  7. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Nov 20, 2012 -> 07:52 AM) Where are all the Bears fans that told me for months, how the Bears would destroyed the 49ers? You have a computer, use it and find those posts, if they even exist. I don't remember any Bears fan on here saying the Bears would destroy the 49ers. You are the only one who talks s*** like that.
  8. As badly as Weber ruined my enjoyment in CBB, Groce has already restored it all. Thanks to the Maui organizers for putting the Illini on the easy side of the bracket. Barring a major letdown tonight, it looks a matchup with UNC tomorrow in the final. Obviously, I think Illinois gets smoked, but it's still fun to see them involved in a relevant game like that.
  9. Flat out ass kicking on every level. They got out-coached too, they were not ready for what the San Fran offense kept throwing at them. It's just one game, but the big concern IMO is that the Bears have played three good playoff teams, and they are 0-3 against them. They only two other decent wins they have are Detroit and Indy, but that was game 1 & the Colts are a way better team now. It's fun to beat the Jaguars & Titans 100-21, but they aren't gonna be who you face in January.
  10. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 19, 2012 -> 02:54 PM) You could always have her induced on December 30. From what I know, I don't think it's that simple. The doctors need a valid medical reason to induce labor, not just "Hey Doc, I need some $$$ from Uncle Sam, let's push this baby out". Otherwise, every woman would be induced weeks early because they are sick of being pregnant.
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 19, 2012 -> 02:38 PM) It's easy to feel bad for him. He got f***ed by the Marlins. They screwed him over. He's a total class act and he got hosed. If Ozzie had pulled this crap of reneging on a verbal agreement to not trade him he'd be buried on this site. He knew exactly what he was getting himself into though. It's not the first time the Marlins have made a move like this, people on this site predicted it when the signing happened. Buehrle should have done what Pujols did, refuse to sign unless he got a no-trade clause. A "verbal" agreement doesn't cut it. Either way, he is still gonna get his $58 million, so I don't feel bad at all for Mark.
  12. QUOTE (Joxer_Daly @ Nov 19, 2012 -> 01:05 PM) Had the exact same experience on Friday. Ante-natal class all about labour, etc. Jaysus!!! Thankfully yer one giving the classes is funny as feck! I take it this is your first child as well? Correct, first child due January 1. Hopefully earlier than that because I can use the tax break!
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 19, 2012 -> 12:41 PM) Unreal Te'o's getting so many first place votes by people. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf...-klein/1714173/ I'm sure Braxton Miller loses votes simply because his team is on probation.
  14. @McMurphyESPN: Maryland prez tells regents MD, RU in Leaders Division w/OSU, PSU, Wisconsin, Purdue & Indiana. Illinois moves to Legends
  15. United Center offers DePaul free rent to play their home games there, among other perks
  16. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Nov 19, 2012 -> 10:40 AM) Report: The Marlins broke verbal no-trade agreements with Mark Buehrle and Jose Reyes Mark & Reyes need to fire their agents for falling for the old "verbal" agreement.
  17. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 19, 2012 -> 09:09 AM) I think I'd rather face Smith, to be honest. I'm not sure. I feel like the Bears usually do well against running QBs, because of their speed on defense. (Although #54 is a tad bit slower these days) When Vick was actually good, the Bears usually contained him pretty well.
  18. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Nov 19, 2012 -> 08:29 AM) I think you could see a 9-6 type game tonight. Just what America's looking for after that shootout on Sunday Night Football.
  19. Alex Smith couldn't pass all the required tests, so it will be the Campbell vs. Kaepernick show tonight!
  20. I didn't include Twitter on my list, because I check it on my phone 24-7. It's the first thing I do when I wake up, last thing I do before I go to sleep. Sad, I know.
  21. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Nov 19, 2012 -> 01:14 AM) Wow, Mike Wallace and Antonio Brown scored 0 pts for my opponent. I am now down by 7 pts with David Akers left on my team..... 2 (40-49) yard FGs and an extra point would give me a tie. Considering the Bears defense, this may actually work out for me if it means the 49'ers have to keep kicking FGs. This will be reeeeeal close. He was inactive with a sprained ankle as well.
  22. QUOTE (chw42 @ Nov 18, 2012 -> 08:22 PM) WAR for relievers takes Leverage Index into account, so in a sense, they are getting more credit for pitching in innings that are more important. Does that minimize the credit they get for 3-run saves? If so, that's helpful in legitimizing the calculation.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 18, 2012 -> 08:49 PM) If this causes USC to throw underneath more to their receivers, it could actually work out better for them than trying to hit the long ball all night with Barkley. A lot of USC fans hate how they've called plays for Barkley this year and that he seems to lock in too much on Lee. Saw on twitter that if he played this weekend, he had a chance to lead the nation in TD passes and interceptions. The USC fans I know have been wanting them to run the ball more all year, which would happen under a freshman QB. However, Notre Dame is not the best team to run against, so who knows.
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 18, 2012 -> 08:43 PM) I saw a stat tonight that made me chuckle. Manziel has forced more fumbles this season than Te'o (1-0). In all honesty, I still have no doubt that Tuitt and Nix are the best players on ND's defense, as Te'o's been extremely average the last 3 games. It would be a shame if they don't give Manziel the Heisman just because he's a freshman. Te'o's a very good defensive player on a great defensive team, but his stats outside of the 6 interceptions (4 on deflected passes) just don't add up to being the best player in the country. Who do you guys think should be the Heisman as of now? Manziel. Without a doubt. However, him winning the Heisman would be like Trout winning the MVP this year, so I'm not sure it happens.
  25. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 18, 2012 -> 08:21 PM) @LindseyThiry: Lane Kiffin confirms Matt Barkley is out for Notre Dame. @LindseyThiry: RS freshman Max Wittek will start for USC against Notre Dame. I would say that USC has no chance, but who figured that the FBS worst defense would hold K-State to 24 points. Fight On!
