  1. QUOTE (AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Nov 4, 2012 -> 05:32 PM) Great, that's all we need, a pitcher that can never stay healthy....pass.... Looking at his recent home/away splits, having him pitch in the Cell concerns me a bit.
  2. Are there more people early voting than normal? I don't remember seeing this many people. And why are they all waiting in line for a few hours? I've never waited in any line to vote on Election Day.
  3. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Nov 4, 2012 -> 04:55 PM) I do think most of them will expire if he's re-elected. The 2% FICA holiday one is going to anyway, which hits everyone that is currently working. What a stupid idea that was...
  4. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Nov 4, 2012 -> 05:54 PM) Conspiracy, bro. Good luck against Wake Forest on Saturday
  5. Giants are getting some Notre Dame-esque calls in this game
  6. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Nov 4, 2012 -> 01:30 PM) As it stands, I just dearly want the Titans to be held to just the safety. There's something beautiful about getting clowned like this and only having 2 points on the board next to your logo. I think it's funnier than actually getting shut out. I totally get what you are saying. In the Oklahoma/Texas game this year, it was 36-2 at halftime because Texas returned a blocked PAT. At the time, I remember thinking Texas would be better off being down 37-0.
  7. Until that Forte screen pass, the Bears had under 100 total yards and were being outgained by the Titans, yet were leading by 29 points.
  8. QUOTE (oldsox @ Nov 4, 2012 -> 10:54 AM) Sox need hitters more than anything. Speed would not hurt. If the team we have now is the team we will have next summer, it will be one of the worst offensive teams in the majors. Free agency has barely even begun. Last year's team was the 7th highest scoring offense in baseball.
  9. QUOTE (farmteam @ Nov 3, 2012 -> 08:21 PM) Phase One complete. As much as I hate Indiana basketball, I'm 100% behind an Indiana Rose Bowl trip.
  10. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Nov 3, 2012 -> 09:48 PM) Collin Klein is hurt. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 3, 2012 -> 09:55 PM) Might be a concussion I noticed he left the game, but haven't heard anything aboutan injury on Twitter or anything else.
  11. QUOTE (SexiAlexei @ Nov 3, 2012 -> 09:45 PM) I don't think most people are "haters" of Notre Dame, I think they're haters of the fan base. Notre Dame fans seem to think the past 20 years never happened, and that their team still matters. I could care less about their team, but living in Chicago and hearing their fans spout off like they've done something makes me root against them. It's the reason I root for them to lose every single game. If they had won even 1 BCS bowl game they could brag. They haven't. In fact, every single time they played a good school in a bowl game since 95, they choked. That is not a reason to be cocky. And winning on a shady call against Stanford, and barely escaping Pitt is no reason to "spout off". Well said. In addition, my hatred towards their fans is that Chicago adopts them as their team despite being two hours away in Indiana. The NW side neighborhood I grew up in is full of people of Irish descent, who think the Fighting Irish is their team. Yet half those fans were lucky to sniff a high school diploma and Manti Teo isn't exactly Irish. f*** them.
  12. QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Nov 3, 2012 -> 08:37 PM) Are Oregon and USC playing a football version of a halfcourt basketball game? Everytime I look somebody's inside the opponent's 20 yard line. It's like they aren't using the whole field. Stewart Mandel‏@slmandelNote that we still have not had a punt in this game by either team. (Though 4 turnovers and a missed FG).
  13. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 3, 2012 -> 07:56 PM) Lots of talk about not respecting Oregon's schedule. Hope you're right. South Bend would implode with anger. Oregon's 3 toughest opponents are in their last 4 games. If they get past USC, Stanford, & Oregon State, their strength of schedule will look much different. Then they still have the Pac-12 championship game, which could still be USC again, even if Oregon wins this.
  14. QUOTE (Joxer_Daly @ Nov 2, 2012 -> 06:28 PM) Not at all. However, reading this thread through Full Metal Jacket eyes, it's refreshing to see that the posters here would have the Godamn common courtesy to give a reacharound. Gents to the last. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Nov 3, 2012 -> 03:39 AM) Greg, its more customary for you to send people your Brazzers account information now. A lifetime supply of HQ streaming pornography is the gift that keeps on giving. These two posts are all kind of awesome.
  15. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Nov 3, 2012 -> 12:36 PM) I always thought Bulls fans were generally the dumbest in Chicago. Comments like this make me think otherwise. Enjoy Dan Johnson starting DH. I think you are highly underestimating the sports IQ of the Bears fan population out there
  16. It's the Dempster trade fiasco all over again. Good work Theo. Angels bought out Haren, he is now a free agent.
  17. QUOTE (farmteam @ Nov 3, 2012 -> 10:10 AM) My prediction: IU will win today against Iowa, just to get my hopes up, and then get absolutely destroyed by Wisconsin next week. It's pretty awesome that Indiana controls their own Rose Bowl destiny at 1-3 in the conference, 3-5 overall.
  18. Bullpens are so hit & miss and fluky that it's not that simple to just "fix". In 2005, the Sox had two garbage set-up men who were unhittable all season. This past season, the Brewers had K-Rod & Axford, who was outstanding in 2011, and neither could finish a save if their life depended on it. I guarantee that if the 2013 Orioles have the same bullpen as this past season, it won't go as well.
  19. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 2, 2012 -> 04:45 PM) Rios either. I didn't plan it that way, I was just posting pics. If you take into account Aug-Sep 2009 & 2011, Rios definitely deserves to be in that group.
  20. QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 2, 2012 -> 04:27 PM) But I feel like we were the only reason they were able to stay afloat. The Sox could have buried them in that stretch you mentioned.Sox proved to be their life support and thus the Sox deserve some of their postseason paychecks. One could argue that the exact opposite was true. The Tigers were the only reason the Sox were in a race for a playoff spot. They should have buried much earlier in the season.
  21. The NYC marathon has gone the way of the Winter Classic: canceled
  22. 'Sons of Anarchy' star: Storm aftermath 'a lot worse than how it's being portrayed by media'
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 2, 2012 -> 12:41 PM) Jon Heyman ‏@JonHeymanCBS #yankees seen as likely to make $13.3M qualifying offers today to soriano, swisher and kuroda I bet Kuroda stays in New York. It was pretty impressive that he went from Chavez Ravine in the NL West to Yankee Stadium in the AL East and pitched better. I could see Soriano going to Detroit, they have the money to spend and are in win-now mode. Swisher? Whereever he goes, it will be a massive overpay I bet.
  24. I may be in the minority, but I've never had any interest whatsoever in attending SoxFest.
