  1. The more I have to deal with Cardinals fans on Facebook, the more I am hoping that the Giants complete the comeback. They have won the 2nd most WS titles in history, yet Cardinals fans act like they are some bad luck franchise that has dealt with so much adversity. Gimme a break. A Cards/Tigers WS would be brutal.
  2. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Oct 21, 2012 -> 07:05 PM) Yes and I got him as a FA for my playoff run. I forgot about his 112 yards & 3 touchdowns in week 15 that year, well done. I kept him on my roster all season in hopes of a game like that. Never made the playoffs, so that was a waste.
  3. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 21, 2012 -> 06:07 PM) I started Carson Palmer over Schaub this week. Bad, bad move. Maybe not.
  4. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Oct 21, 2012 -> 04:04 PM) I swear V Jax is underrated. I've had him three straight seasons in my league and he never lets me down. Two years ago, he sat out the first 13 weeks of the season.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 20, 2012 -> 09:15 PM) AJ McCarron deserves to be in the discussion with his 16-0 TD/INT numbers so far. His defense is too good, he doesn't have to make any plays. Right now Klein has to be the front runner. What a fluke West Virginia was.
  6. Chris Young is the most overrated player in Soxtalk history...
  7. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Oct 16, 2012 -> 09:03 AM) Also, if I'm Kenny and I'm thinking about possibly moving Viciedo in a big deal for a right-handed ace, I'm going under the radar and targeting Brandon Morrow. What a contradiction. Brandon Morrow is not an ace. Are you trading for an ace or going under the radar?
  8. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Oct 20, 2012 -> 04:41 PM) A's rob everyone else and are probably laughing about it. And everyone else is laughing that they have won one playoff series in 6 years and two playoff series in the last 20 years
  9. Two weeks ago the national media was full of "Steve Spurrier created a national title contender at S. Carolina" Oops. Northwestern with another blown 4th quarter lead, bummer. This is the type of year they can make their mark in the B1G. Loved the new helmets.
  10. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Oct 19, 2012 -> 09:48 PM) I thought you meant you shouldn't be able to come back from being awful, and rather come back from an injury. Coming back from awful is fine. I meant that Rodney was never good in the first place. In my understanding, the award should go to someone that went from All-Star to injured/bad back to All-Star. Not mediocre forever to awesome like Rodney.
  11. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Oct 19, 2012 -> 03:30 PM) Tell your partners in crime that. There's a party going on in here for being the 8th best team in the AL. Do you think Dave Dombrowski should be sent off for producing a middle-of-the-pack team just like KW did? 7th out of 14 is pretty damn mediocre.
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 19, 2012 -> 01:42 PM) 0.60 ERA, 48 saves. I think Rodney earned it. But what did he come back from? When was he ever good? He earned the "Breakout Player" award or "Most Improved" but not comeback player.
  13. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Oct 19, 2012 -> 02:09 PM) Well, then disqualify Dunn and Rios then. Peavy, at least, came back from years of injuries. What do you mean disqualify Dunn? The most consistent power hitter in all of baseball for ten years suddenly has one of the worst seasons in the history of the sport. People were questioning if he would ever return to his previous form and thought he might be done as a baseball player. That fits the exact definition of "comeback".
  14. As I said in the other thread, what the f*** did Fernando Rodney come back from? Being a s***ty reliever his entire career? What a crock.
  15. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Oct 19, 2012 -> 11:33 AM) I don't know, I didn't really follow the Cardinals season all that closely this year, so I can't really comment on how deserving they were or not. They won the same amount of games as the "undeserving" Tigers and they would not have made the playoffs under 2011's rules.
  16. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Oct 19, 2012 -> 10:04 AM) Joe Smith ‏@TBTimesRays2 #Rays Rodney named AL Comeback Player of the Year and MLB's Delivery Man of the Year. TR Sullivan ‏@Sullivan_Ranger Fernando Rodney of Tampa Bay beat out Joe Nathan of the Rangers for Comeback Player of the Year Wow. I stand by my point that he was never any good, so it can't be called a "comeback". I guess the media sees it differently. That definitely hurts the chances of Rios and/or Dunn.
  17. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Oct 19, 2012 -> 09:48 AM) I think that the Sox will be shutout in the post season awards Mgr of the YR- Buck Showalter CY Young - Jered Weaver Comeback Player- Fernando Rodney What did Fernando Rodney come back from? It's not like he had one bad year, he has always been bad.
  18. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Oct 19, 2012 -> 09:07 AM) I'd love to see the Sox make a trade for Pedro Alvarez. I don't know if I could handle Alvarez & Dunn close to each other in the lineup. Alvarez's approach is the same as Dunn's without the walks.
  19. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 19, 2012 -> 07:47 AM) So his OPS might be .760 next year. Tell me where we get a 3B that will be better. And what's it going to be in 2015, 2016, 2017 when he is 40+? I would take him for the next year or two, sure. But his contract still has five years on it, and you can't change that.
  20. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 18, 2012 -> 10:28 PM) Jim Harbaugh point shaving? He better watch his back, there could be some angry Vegas bettors coming after him. If you look at the decision, it actually was the right move though. Much safer to just kneel twice rather then give the Seahawks a chance to get lucky onside kicking. (and potentially face an injury)
  21. I'm just gonna keep posting this every so often: QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 17, 2012 -> 10:09 PM) Alex Rodriguez OPS: 2007: 1.067 2008: .965 2009: .933 2010: .847 2011: .823 2012: .783 He will turn 38 next July. PEDs & greenies are illegal. Keep that in mind people.
  22. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 18, 2012 -> 09:11 PM) Oregon at Arizona St. Oregon has 43 points...with 11:33 remaining in the SECOND QUARTER. Holy f***. And then they scored 0 points over the next 41:33. What the heck Chip Kelly? Next week's game vs. Colorado had the potential for triple digits, but sounds like Kelly doesn't play that running up the score game.
