  1. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 3, 2017 -> 09:13 PM) He was put in 3rd and long all day and managed to go 12/15. Held the ball too long a few times but the playcalling was yet again atrocious. What frustrates me is that the 49ers seemed to have no issue completing passes on 3rd down when needed. It's not like Jimmy G had pinpoint accuracy, they just kept running slants and their receivers were always wide open. And their guys aren't any more talented than the Bears.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 3, 2017 -> 08:13 PM) The Cubs have a lot of built in advantages that the White Sox do not. Like the potential to win the 2018 or 2019 World Series
  3. U think it might be Chicago?
  4. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 3, 2017 -> 04:03 PM) Rub it in Robbie. You deserve it. Good for him. The Robbie Gould game.
  5. QUOTE (balfanman @ Dec 3, 2017 -> 07:34 PM) Now I make no claims to being a football genius. That being said, it seems that everyone is blaming Fox, Loggains, Trubisky, Pace or a few others. I would submit that the biggest issue is our overrated offensive line. I think they don't do a very good job of opening holes for running game, pass blocking is far from tremendous and most opposing defenders seem to be able to push them wherever they want to. Yet against the 9-2 Steelers they dominated the offensive line for nearly 5 quarters, everybody knew a run was coming and it didn't matter. What the hell happened? They did seem to be calling Cohen's plays for Howard when he kept running out of bounds. At least the weather was nice
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 2, 2017 -> 06:06 PM) I feel quite confident that there are people reading this thread thinking the same thing about me. Pretty sure they just said so. Then just prove the haters wrong.
  7. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Dec 2, 2017 -> 02:02 PM) Non-White Sox fans find our franchise boring, forgettable, and irrelevant all the time. That is the unfortunate by-product of years and years of losing and the infrequency of appearing in the postseason. It also underscores the importance of the rebuild, because that is the only hope at the moment of reversing that mindset if a sustainable winning ballclub emerges from those efforts. Do you not remember the fan beating up the first base coach? Hardly forgettable or boring, it still gets mentioned by opposing fans.
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 2, 2017 -> 02:02 PM) Alshon Jeffery signs a 4 year extension. All whispers were that he would never sign an extension in Chicago, but still think they could have at least franchised him one year.
  9. Just a nagging lower body injury for Crawford, out at least 3 games but nothing serious.
  10. QUOTE (KagakuOtoko @ Dec 2, 2017 -> 09:28 AM) Damn I am shocked this passed. Remember when the ACA passed when the president had both the house and senate? Oh well, in 2018, dems will take back both and then we begin the cycle of obstructionism all over again. America, so predictable, so pathetic. Exactly. People are discussing the changes in this tax bill come 2025 like they matter, which they wont. A new liberal tax bill will be voted in way before then.
  11. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 2, 2017 -> 08:42 AM) Hypothetically but I'd expect the House to just pass the Senate plan. They're desperate to pass something, and their donors have threatened to cut them off if they don't. I know you might benefit from the pass through part, but any thoughts on the tax plan more broadly? The bill isn't very popular, less popular than the Clinton and Bush 41 tax hikes even, so I'm curious what supporters who aren't multimillionaires see in it. I'm in no way a supporter of it, there's too much stuff like the estate tax that has no benefit other than lining pockets. I have to read more about the pass through tax, cause it might not help the real smallest businesses anyway. Some of the poor/middle class will receive tax cuts, but those will come at the expense of the other half of the middle class that will see tax increases, especially if they itemize. A big wash. In the end, it seems like a standard conservative plan. Give more money to the people and companies that employ the everyday citizens. With more money, they will create more jobs and have more production and stimulate the economy, at least that's the rationale. In some situations it works but in many it just creates a bigger income gap as they just keep the money to themselves.
  12. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 2, 2017 -> 09:35 AM) Reconciliation conference to craft a bill both houses can pass or the house just passes what the Senate did. So you're saying there's still a chance?? (Insert Dumb and Dumber meme)
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 2, 2017 -> 01:31 AM) They stopped caring. Haven't you noticed that by their silence here? As soon as no demycrat was in power they didn't care about any of this. deficits, procedure, all the important things we couldn't do with that thing in office. The silence here is because "they" have all been banned or pushed away by insults and attacks for thinking differently.
  14. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 1, 2017 -> 09:13 PM) No one should be in favor of rewriting the tax code of the biggest economy in earth in a few hours. "I'm just a bill" didn't do as good of a job explaining the process as I thought. The House and Senate bills have many differences so now they get together, rewrite it and both vote again? What was the point of these votes then?
  15. QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 1, 2017 -> 05:32 PM) About 90 minutes to go. Cubs cutting ties with Hector Rondon. Oh the volatility of bullpen arms. About 15 months ago, he was lights out. Then suddenly he couldn't be trusted in five straight playoff series and now non tendered.
  16. QUOTE (ptatc @ Dec 1, 2017 -> 12:42 PM) And it gets worse each voting cycle. As the partisan lines grow deeper and deeper it's only gonna get worse. Many Congresspeople don't even have to think anymore, they just vote along party lines and are guaranteed re-election. There really needs to be a serious third party emerge or it is only gonna get worse.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 1, 2017 -> 04:18 PM) Like I said in the other thread...I'm iffy here. If I spent 6 months finding people who were willing to lie about a Congressperson, and I got them to come forwards in sequence, do we just send away the congressperson with no time to evaluate their claims? This is still America and there ought to be some level of due process available. I'm not sure how to make that work, but that's one of those things we do believe in as a country, a chance to have your case heard. A working ethics committee would be the right place to do that, but I'm not sure it works well enough or fast enough for that to actually count. These people don't seem like they're lying and I have no reason to believe that in this case, but that's also the system we built in the Bill of Rights and I believe in the principles of that system too. It's very admirable that you are so willing to let Roy Moore let his case be heard. Oh wait, that's not who you are talking about, I wonDeR why.
  18. QUOTE (Sleepy Harold @ Dec 1, 2017 -> 01:17 PM) Chicago White Sox @whitesox now The #WhiteSox have agreed to terms on a one-year, $1.05-million contract with right-handed pitcher Danny Farquhar, avoiding arbitration. Danny Farquhar was in the organization? Hum, shows where I've been
  19. Oh f*** Chicago Blackhawks‏ @NHLBlackhawks Goaltender Jean-Francois Berube has been recalled from the IceHogs and the #Blackhawks have placed goaltender Corey Crawford on injured reserve. #Blackhawks
  20. Zippity doo dah zippity day
  21. 2 years/$15 million, $8 million club option in year 3 @JeffPassan Sources: Welington Castillo's deal with the White Sox is for $15 million guaranteed. It's a two-year deal with a club option for $8 million in the third year. @Ken_Rosenthal had the deal done first.
  22. Ken Rosenthal‏Verified account @Ken_Rosenthal 2m2 minutes ago More Welington Castillo deal with #WhiteSox is for two years with club option, source tells The Athletic.
  23. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 1, 2017 -> 11:22 AM) Yeah Leach as a coach will be fine. He's just someone that doesn't like meddling and boy will he face it so it's an odd fit. Exactly my point. I don't doubt his coaching ability, but in those jobs, there is way more to it than just coaching. You have to kiss a lot of ass, and that doesn't fit him well. That's why he's a great fit in Pllman.
