  1. That Alabama fan that teabagged the passed out LSU fan after the BCS Champ. game? Two years in prison.
  2. Wow, the Marlins are giving away Adam Greenberg "One At Bat" posters to the first 15,000 fans. What a joke of a franchise.
  3. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 2, 2012 -> 10:59 AM) Please stop fading each year at the tail end of the season. It sucks to watch hungry teams go on a tear in September every year to make a push for the playoffs and we continually run out of gas and play uninspired. Even in 2008, the one time they did make the playoffs, they played just as badly at the end, getting swept by their rival in the next to last series of the year. They were lucky to hang on and that the coin flipped the way it did.
  4. A look into what goes through Ed Hochuli's head before every play.
  5. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 2, 2012 -> 10:19 AM) I was wondering this all game. My goodness, they must have gotten away with 10 blatant holding penalties. Since Peppers joined the team, I've gotten used to the missed holding calls. It seems like he gets held every other play.
  6. I will never forget when I saw a guy drop his cell phone into the Wrigley trough. I didn't stick around to check if he washed his hands.
  7. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 2, 2012 -> 09:41 AM) A team predicted to finish around 4th, who lost their best starting pitcher (at the point of opening day) in May, had Paulie and Dunn hurting, lost their starting 3B (first to a lack of bat, then to an injury), employed 10 rookie relievers, and had 3 of 5 SP's going waaaaay past their previous inning loads... and yet, they somehow spent roughly half the season in first place, and were in it until the last series of the season. He went on the DL in May, but you can almost say that you didn't have Danks the entire season, he never was himself. That shoulder was obviously bothering him the whole time, as his 5.70 ERA can attest.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 2, 2012 -> 09:37 AM) I'm guessing we have seen the last of Dunn and Konerko for this year. The Dan Johnson fan club has gotten its wish
  9. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Oct 2, 2012 -> 12:08 AM) It's funny a defense that had 5 interceptions and held their RB to 24 yards on 11 carries and people were saying they weren't playing good. Also 2nd page people going crazy over the offense and saying meltdown etc. already.... I'm happy I actually watch the games from start to end and not read all this during. Sounds exactly like a Sox game thread
  10. Thanks for nothing Stricker. Tiger Woods lining up a putt with the Ryder Cup on the line would have just been epic TV.
  11. I started the red-hot Cardinals D at home vs. a rookie QB instead of the Bears @ Dallas. Oops.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 10:21 PM) Or that this Tigers team doesn't have a chance in the playoffs. I questioned the Tigers all year (and still do), but to say they have no chance in the playoffs is pure baseball ignorance. They are kind of built for the playoffs.
  13. QUOTE (bighurt574 @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 01:22 PM) If you bought from Ticketmaster, do they automatically just credit your card or do you have to do something with the tix? Yeah, they will automatically credit your card, but it might take a few days, it doesn't usually happen immediately.
  14. QUOTE (Real @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 10:20 PM) what's more hilarious is some of the people here thinking this team actually had a chance in the playoffs I'm sure that's what they all said about the 2011 Cardinals.
  15. Fred Couples, hanging with MJ, rocking a White Sox hat
  16. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 02:25 PM) Unless you're the Tigers. Rangers and Yankees were good enough on the road, but dominated in their parks. The NL is top-heavy. So many crappy teams. That shows why the Tigers aren't on the same level as the other division winners. They are a so-so team that plays in an awful division.
  17. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 02:09 PM) Division leaders home records: NY 48-30 Det 50-31 Tex 49-29 Was 48-30 Cin 50-31 SF 48-33 The best teams dominate at home. Sox are at 44-34. Division leaders road records: NY 42-36 Det 34-41 Tex 43-35 Was 47-31 Cin 44-31 SF 43-32 The best teams win everywhere
  18. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 12:58 PM) It resets on every hole. Player A tees off on all odd holes and Player B tees off on all even holes. Doesn't matter who made the last stroke on the previous hole. That makes sense, thanks.
  19. Question about the alternate shot format: Does the alternating reset on every hole, where you can decide which player tees off, then you alternate shots? or Is it alternating every single shot, where if player A putts in, then player B HAS to tee off the next hole?
  20. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 11:27 AM) The White Sox bandwagon is emptying because there is no faith in this organization to put a championship team on the field. The fans are completely justified in their skepticism about this organization's competence. I think you are giving the White Sox fanbase way too much credit. In order to fill the Cell, you need to be in the playoffs, period.
  21. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 11:16 AM) No reason to buy tickets ahead of time when they'll be readily available later anyway. That's just being logical. Then you have an out if they collapse and you aren't stuck with $200 worth of tickets for a Sunday game you no longer want to go to. I understand the logic of it. But if fans aren't willing to commit a few weeks ahead of time, then there lies some of your attendance issues.
  22. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 11:16 AM) Just doing my part as an American by jinxing a European team. So much for that. Tied up 1-1 now
  23. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 11:00 AM) Got it to AS with 2 to play. Just doing my part as an American by jinxing a European team.
  24. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 10:53 AM) A lot of your posts lately are of this nature, almost like you aren't included as a fan. I find it interesting. I'm pretty sure the fans care. Just because the attendance isn't great, doesn't mean they don't care. That's not exactly the best measuring stick. As has been covered, it's hard to get people to come out this week when you are watching the team suffer a slow, painful death. Here's a good read, especially towards the end. http://www.southsidesox.com/2012/9/28/3421...te-sox-tailspin It also says something that no fans bought tickets in advance. After the Sox beat Detroit to go 3 up, you would think that fans would buy tickets ahead of time for the CLE/TAM series when the division may be on the line. But no one obviously did, so I think that tells you something. Their slump isn't much of an attendance excuse, it's not like a win or two was gonna add 10,000 walk-up ticket sales for a single game.
