  1. After all games on September 20th: White Sox: 12 (13 games left) Tigers: 16 (13 games left) Friday: MIN (Deduno) @ DET (Porcello) 6:05 CWS (Peavy) @ LAA (Santana) 9:05
  2. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 09:54 PM) MATT THORNTON LADIES AND GENTLEMEN. MATT f***ING THORNTON. Meh, that was more bad luck.
  3. Ha. Sox should have scored more in the early innings. Congrats to greg, he won his World Series.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 09:52 PM) Cause righties destroy Crain Hosmer .220 vs. LHP this season
  5. QUOTE (kapzk @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 09:51 PM) Why the hell would they intentionally walk a .233 hitter?? To face a .236 hitter with their hottest reliever?
  6. Last season I would never believe that you would walk Frency to face Hosmer.
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 09:46 PM) Thanks. I'm the biggest Royals fan in the area. Judging from the crowd, there are only 15 of them.
  8. QUOTE (Baron @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 09:43 PM) They love each other BFFs forever
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 09:42 PM) Do a pitch out on 0-2 Genius
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 09:39 PM) LOL at Sox ready to lose to KC again. Congrats
  11. You heard it here first, the Sox will score if this game goes to the 10th. IF it goes to the 10th.
  12. For the new one-game wild card playoff, you set a 25-man roster, then you are allowed to set a different 25-man roster for the LDS, so you don't have to include any starters that aren't available. That makes for some interesting possibilites. I thought this was a good article by Joe Sheehan breaking it down.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 09:27 PM) Last night, I thought they said they had won 15 of their last 20 games (during ESPN broadcast). They were correct. But that includes an 11-1 streak from Aug. 28 to Sep. 9. They have cooled off since then.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 09:24 PM) Bigger issue is the Angels are playing really good baseball right now, and winning that series in Anaheim seems significantly more difficult than the Tigers beating the Twins in a series. Sox just need to find a way to have at least a two game lead heading into next Monday. The Angels are 5-5 in their last 10 games. The Sox are 6-4 in their last 10.
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 09:07 PM) LOL. Whoever said momentum doesn't exist in baseball ... the Royals have all the mojo in this game right now. Is this the inning they bust it open? We've seen this game before. I'm so happy for you that the Royals keep beating the Sox, good for you. It's gotta make up for the "football" that the Jayhawks play.
  16. After day games on September 20th: White Sox: 12 (14 games left) Tigers: 17 (13 games left) Tonight: CWS (Liriano) @ KC (Cy Young "Guthrie") 7:10

  18. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 03:10 PM) nice momentum killer in detroit Even if they load the bases for Cabrera, he hits a grand slam, then Fielder goes back-to-back, it would still be a two-run Oakland lead
  19. If Oakland can retire the next 6 batters in a row, they don't have to face MCab or Fielder again until 2013.
  20. Fatty #1 & Fatty #2 lead off the 7th. Huge at-bats right here.
  21. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 01:53 PM) Carter showing he has retained something from his time in the Sox system by failing to get a runner home from 3rd with less than 2 outs. Worst farm system EVER!!!
  22. 9 hits & 3 walks in 5 IP, but only 3 runs? Good work by Oakland pitching to limit the damage.
  23. QUOTE (Cali @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 01:21 PM) So glad the Tigers end the season on the road... Have a feeling we're gonna be bigger fans of KC than greg is come the final series... Is that even humanly possible?
