  1. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 01:19 PM) I've heard Youk doesnt especially care much about playing for the White Sox. Zero loyalty/desire to stay if he doesnt get his option picked up. Well I have zero desire to see him play in a White Sox uniform in 2013, so we are even.
  2. Bases loaded, 1 out, and Delmon ends it with a GIDP. I swear the White Sox are the only team he is clutch against. Stop pitching him down & in!
  3. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Sep 18, 2012 -> 04:35 PM) How are there so many 49er fans on here? I don't think there are that many, it's just that the few are loud and desperate for attention
  4. 1-out double by Infante and here comes the world's most dangerous hitter with a runner on 2nd
  5. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 11:02 AM) I think his point was that instead of giving kids with nut allergies something different than peanut butter, schools have decided to just not give peanut butter to anyone so that the kids with the allergy don't feel left out or different. That makes more sense. I read it like, "Any kid with peanut allergies, go sit in this corner of the lunchroom, so the normal kids can eat what they want"
  6. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 10:30 AM) This is just as bad as schools banning peanut butter from lunchrooms because one kid is allergic to it rather than separating out the single kid. Did you really just compare this dance issue to a medical condition that could cause illness, hospitalization, and even death?
  7. The Tigers play at noon, so we will know early if today's game thread mood will be normal negative depression or if it will reach DEFCON 2 suicidal.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 08:58 AM) 23 2/3 IP 0 earned runs. Post this in the locker room, please. Post these box scores along with highlights all over the locker room. Proof that a team in a White Sox jersey can score runs against and beat Jeremy Guthrie. Some of you guys were involved in these games too. Remember? August 8, 2011 May 2, 2011 August 24, 2010
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 02:41 AM) Because of an ACLU complaint, a school district in New York or somewhere banned Father-Daughter dances saying they are discriminatory against a little girl who has no dad to take her. Couldn't the mom just take her or an uncle or a neighbor or a grandpa or again, have the mom take her? If she tried to do any of those things and they prevented her, then I could maybe see an issue. If not, then this is beyond stupid.
  10. I went to Chick-Fil-A for the first time about two weeks ago, I gotta say it was pretty good. Definitely one of the better fast food meals I have had, loved the waffle fries. And that breakfast menu has some damn intriguing options on there.
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 02:15 AM) I just have this gut feeling that the Sox are the ones to lead all season and Detroit, the overwhelming favorite to start the season, will sweep past us at the end laughing all the way. I just picture it for some reason. You've been rooting for Detroit and/or KC to pass the Sox all season, maybe your dreams will finally come true?
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 19, 2012 -> 11:01 PM) KC also had a ton of chances to score runs tonight as well. This loss is not nearly as frustrating as the two losses to them at the Cell a few weeks ago. The Tank/Alexei ABs were as frustrating as you can get, but other than that I concur.
  13. QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 19, 2012 -> 10:52 PM) Yeah, I understand getting Flowers in there, and I understand Viciedo. It isn't fair for me to argue that he needs to use data and then suggest he shouldn't use it when it doesn't suit my argument. It's unfortunate that Dayan and Flowers didn't get the job done when they had the chance. I still have a major problem with his failure to look at statistics and instead just going with the traditional opposite-handedness is the best approach. I guarantee you that is why Flowers and Viciedo started, and AJ and Wise did not. I doubt he even was aware of their career numbers against Chen. I get what you are saying. Robin has not made the best decisions recently, but the starters today were put in positions to perform, and they did not get the job done. We can both be right.
  14. QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 19, 2012 -> 10:41 PM) Again, Chen is actually tougher on righties than he is on lefties. I agree we should have score 4+ runs easily tonight, but the fact that we didn't only magnifies the mistakes we did make. I don't know why the guy can't just LOOK AT THE DATA instead of going with the traditional righty-lefty/lefty-righty matchups every damned time. Who knows what might have happened had he actually put the players that had the best chance to succeed in instead of just automatically going with the traditional opposite matchup EVERY SINGLE TIME. Maybe Flowers and Beckham get hits off of Holland instead of the two easy outs that two cold guys off the bench were against a guy throwing 99. Is that too much to ask, honestly? Chen is tougher vs. RHP, but Wise was 1/6 & De Aza was 1/5. You can pick & choose your stats. Flowers has a 1.000 OPS vs. LHP, .613 vs. RHP, maybe Robin doesn't trust him vs. a righty? Robin has made some bad decisions this month, but if there is ever a night to let your agenda against him slide, tonight is it.
  15. QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 19, 2012 -> 10:32 PM) No, they are defending him. I am the one saying he has been a piss-poor manager for the last three weeks. Really. And people aren't disagreeing about the last three weeks. They are saying that tonight is not his fault.
  16. QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 19, 2012 -> 10:30 PM) Well I did list about 7 other reasons, but you guys only seem to read one. In all honesty, I'm not thinking about Robin's late bullpen & pinch hitting decisions today. They may have been wrong, but it should not have been a 1-0 game going into the bottom of the 7th. The offense was brutal for 7 innings vs a crappy pitcher who they had seemed to figure out recently. This is one is 100% on the offense IMO. Although AJ had success against Chen, he was gonna need a day off at some point. I would rather have Flowers face Chen than any of the RHP coming up.
  17. QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 19, 2012 -> 10:20 PM) I really don't care what Dayan has done against Chen in the past, or anyone for that matter. I flat-out would not play him. We have absolutely no idea what we're going to get out of him, because he shows no capacity to learn or improve, no capacity to adjust his approach at the plate. I'll take Wise over Dayan in every start for the remainder of the season. No, we do know one thing. He destroys LHP. He did it on Sunday against Diamond, he did it last time vs. Chen. You start him against lefties, his four digit OPS attests to that. Wise has a career OPS against LHP of .558. In 2012 it is a whopping .600.
  18. QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 19, 2012 -> 10:12 PM) I just want him to look at statistics. He brings in Jones against Butler when he should have brought him in against Gordon. He brings in two lefties to pinch hit against their closer when righties are hitting 80 points higher than lefties. He sits AJ against a guy he's hitting .417 against. I didn't have a problem with him leaving Sale either, Dayan should have made the catch...but I honestly wouldn't take Wise out of the lineup now for Dayan...the guy just has no concept of situational hitting and we can't afford OTJ for him right now. I'd be happy if he were just in a PH role right now, considering the upgrade to our defense that Wise brings. Tank was 5 for 12 with 2 homers vs. Chen going into today. He had a 1.029 OPS vs. LHP. Today was the perfect day to start Viciedo. He didn't perform.
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 19, 2012 -> 10:07 PM) Sox looked like a team satisfied at a 5-game win streak tonight. AJ's wave of his hand at the ump said it all. We're defeated when we play KC ... defeated. Last night was a lucky one-run win. Tomorrow Guthrie mercifully ends the season series with KC's 12th win vs. the Sox. If Detroit wins we're one-game up and the schedule IS NOT in our favor. Thanks, KC for ruining our season. Like clockwork, here comes greg bragging that he picked the Royals to beat the Sox again.
  20. QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 19, 2012 -> 10:02 PM) I just can't express enough how much a disadvantage Robin is putting us at night after night with these terrible decisions. He's an absolutely pathetic on-field manager. Really? Did he tell Tank & Alexei to pop up early in the AB with the bases loaded? This loss is 100% on the offense, no ifs ands or buts about it. They have faced Chen so many times, had success recently and just got smoked today. That's it. Maybe Robin made a bad decision or two later, but the offense blew chunks. It is their fault. Go get em tomorrow dumb asses.
  21. After games on September 18th: White Sox: 13 (14 games left) Tigers: 17 (14 games left) Thursday: OAK (Milone) @ DET (Sanchez) 12:05 CWS (Liriano) @ KC (Cy Young "Guthrie") 7:10
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 19, 2012 -> 02:35 PM) Dan Hayes ‏@DanHayesCSN Game notes are out: #WhiteSox set rotation for #Angels series: Peavy, Quintana, Floyd. Vs. Santana, Haren, Weaver
  23. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 19, 2012 -> 02:29 PM) Tough Picks this week, alot of good teams going on the road, and injuries with teams like the Bears may take a toll. I took the Saints at home vs KC. Brutal week. I just did my straight up confidence picks, ouch.
