  1. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 01:05 PM) Well at least we didn't get Guthrie, but my gosh, how many times are we gonna face Mendoza and Chen? Just once I would like to face this Will Smith character.
  2. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 12:37 PM) That list is great. Rob Deer hit .209 that season, which makes his inclusion on that list even more impressive.
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 11:51 AM) One could also turn that back and say he lost his ace one month into the season, and his #3 for an extended period. Absolutely. I wasn't trying to take away credit from KW, every good team has a bit of luck and those moves didn't make themselves. But nobody could have predicted Wise & Quintana would produce at this level. And right when the Sox were in desperate need for a 3b, here comes Boston, " Please take Youk off our hands for nothing, we will even pay you."
  4. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 11:12 AM) Wise has a .931 OPS in September and I have no problem with riding the hot hand, but DeAza has a .777 OPS in the last two seasons and I hope nobody starts thinking of Wise as a permanent replacement for DeAza. After everything went wrong last year, Kenny sure has had a horseshoe up his ass this season. Specifically with Quintana, Wise, and the sudden availability of Youkilis for nothing.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 10:51 AM) Daryl Van Schouwen ‏@CST_soxvan Tigers v. Quintana: Jackson 8, Infante 4, Cabrera 5, Fielder 3, Young DH, Peralta 6, Boesch 9, Garcia 7, Laird 2. Fister pitching. Bummer. I was hoping the injury would keep him out. I'd say he is their second most important hitter behind Cabrera.
  6. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 16, 2012 -> 07:10 PM) Why did Andre Johnson retire before todays game and no one told me? LOL. When the league's best rushing team faces the garbage that is Jacksonville, I'm surprised they even threw the ball at all.
  7. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 16, 2012 -> 07:33 PM) I'll predict 20-25,000. If they're counting tickets sold from the cancelled Thursday night game, it will be a very good crowd indeed, at least revenue/numbers-wise. I'm sure the fans that do show up will be vocal as hell and into the game. The teachers strike could help attendance too.
  8. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Sep 16, 2012 -> 10:21 PM) To clarify things, that would be the winnings in my survivor pool, if I had actually won it all. So POTENTIALLY that kick cost me $5500, but unlikely. Regardless, I am going to write down my pick each week just for "fun" to see how far I would have made it had he not choked away the kick. I took the Saints in week 1. If I had made it to week 2, I definitely would have picked the Patriots. Oops.
  9. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 09:36 AM) Here is a picture of my girlfriend.... You just won the internet....
  10. After games on September 16th: White Sox: 16 (17 games left) Tigers: 20 (17 games left) Monday: DET (Fister) @ CWS (Quintana) 1:10
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 16, 2012 -> 06:30 PM) So is the Twins curse dead? Apparently, it has been transferred to the Royals and/or Tigers.
  12. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 16, 2012 -> 09:04 AM) Hmm...I thought good teams never had closer problems Hmm....I thought good teams never lose to the Royals

  14. The lockout is official. Is it bad that as a drunken season ticket holder (half season), I am really not that upset about no hockey? Maybe it's the Sox/Bears potential or just the frustration of the last two first round exits by the Hawks?
  15. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 14, 2012 -> 02:06 PM) ...and legit Kate Middleton topless photos exist. Meh. Wake me up when legit Kate Upton topless photos exist.
  16. After games on September 15th: White Sox: 18 (18 games left) Tigers: 20 (18 games left) Sunday: CWS (Peavy) @ MIN (Diamond) 1:10 DET (Porcello) @ CLE (Ubaldo) 2:05
  17. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 08:19 PM) I also have a birth certificate from Indonesia. Joking. 1992-1996 Georgia (Statesboro/Augusta) 1996-2005 Kansas City 2005-06 Colombia 2006-07 Kansas City with Greg775 2007 China 2008 Philippines/Thailand 2009 Thailand 2010 China 2011 South Korea/China 2012 China Did you ever deal with the crazy 88s in your travels?
  18. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 10:43 PM) 18 games left. 12-6 gets you 90 wins. 90 wins doesn't matter. Just win as many games as Detroit and you win the division. Case closed.
  19. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 10:06 PM) There are 18 games left. Is the vesting of Myers option still a viable concern? Who gives a s***. I would take a division title & Myers at $10mil in 2013 over none of the above. It's really hard to trust Reed right now.
  20. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 03:09 PM) Dunn clearly isn't 100%. He didn't strike out once today. Wow. This is easily the best post of the season. Good work.
  21. QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 11:05 AM) I hope Dayan is benched when Dunn returns. against RHP
