  1. Since the All-star break, Cleveland is 4-5 against Detroit. They have two series wins and one series loss, a sweep. Against the rest of baseball, they are 12-38 with a 0-13-3 series record.
  2. Liriano - Saturday Peavy - Sunday Quintana - Monday vs. Detroit Floyd - Tuesday vs. KC Confirmed by Robin via multiple Twitter sources
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 14, 2012 -> 05:03 PM) I wouldn't trade for a 3b with a back problem who hasn't proven he's healthy. I could probably find 3 of those on the waiver wire. And there is one of those waiting in Charlotte as well
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 14, 2012 -> 03:44 PM) My boss pulled strings and got me and a buddy front row seats right next to the tarp on the 3rd base line. It might have been the best game ever for me. As soon as the game vs the Tigers ended, I just sat on Ticketmaster pressing refresh until the tickets went on sale. Scored two in the upper deck behind home plate, like row 10 or something. So awesome.

  6. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 14, 2012 -> 01:58 PM) That last 3 games plus the blackout game made it deserving for me. That was one hell of a guantlet, and they were running on fumes and somehow pulled it out I absolutely destroyed my liver for that 8-game stretch starting with the Tuesday game in the Metrodome. What a week that was.
  7. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Sep 14, 2012 -> 01:44 PM) Again, nobody "deserves" to win any division. The team that ends up with the most wins wins it. St. Louis didn't "deserve" to win the 2006 NLC with 83 wins by your reasoning, either. The 2008 White Sox had to be one of the least "deserving" division champs in a while.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 14, 2012 -> 01:06 PM) Marinez was also with the #WhiteSox from July 13-16, throwing 1.2 scoreless IP in his only appearance on July 13 at Kansas City. Start him in KC. He is our only hope to shut down the unbeatable Royals!!!!
  9. Just imagining a bunch of drunk Texas hillbillies climbing on concrete structures in the big city makes me giggle.
  10. QUOTE (IowanSoxFan @ Sep 14, 2012 -> 12:01 PM) Charles Woodson: "It's the same old Jay. We just need to be in position. Jay will throw us the ball." That's pretty f***ing funny (well, maybe for us non-Bears fans). LOL, that's probably why Jay kicked him when he was on the ground last night.
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 14, 2012 -> 10:59 AM) And he doesn't get the benefit of being able to point to a WS win in Miami. He didn't win it down there, they could care less. Good point. That was always the elephant in the room when people in Chicago would discuss his faults. He would never fail to point it out either. The Marlins have won 2 WS in the past 15 years, their fans don't give a s*** about some drought in Chicago.
  12. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 14, 2012 -> 10:35 AM) I am pretty sure his night game numbers have been historically terrible. And that is bad, because the Superbowl is not a day game. So he better figure that s*** out if he ever wants to play in and succeed in that game. Actually, in his career he has played better than normal on Monday nights. Thursday nights have been a clusterf*** though. (Finding his Sunday night stats would take too much research right now) Mondays: 10 games, 6-4 record. 61.4 % completion, 17 TD, 7 Int, 94.4 QB rating. Thursdays: 5 games, 2-3 record. 57.8% completion, 5 TD, 11 Int, 63.6 QB rating
  13. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 11:43 PM) Doug Buffone and Ed O'Bradovich postgame shows are the truth like Jesus. I'm trying to imagine how it would be if they were in the booth for Sox games. My word. I imagine they had some outstanding meatball callers last night.
  14. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Sep 14, 2012 -> 08:45 AM) I had tickets for the game last night. I cannot go to the make up game due to work. How do I go about getting my money back? Sell it on StubHub. Judging from the policy on the White Sox website, you are SOL as far as getting a refund from them.
  15. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 07:52 PM) He draws resentment for not beating the Tigers in a winnable game. He folds in big games. His bulldog mentality is bulls*** and it sure doesn't transfer to his teammates. At least somebody gets it around here.
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 14, 2012 -> 07:18 AM) He goes through a surgery no other pitcher has ever gone through and Sox fans are pissed at him for giving them 200 innings of 3.30 ERA pitching. How come you don't have a CSINAA considering his 0-3 record and 6.00 ERA against Detroit? Coming into this season, if you thought Peavy should pitch like an ace after what he's been through, you didn't have a lot of company. Its pretty clear his stuff isn't quite what it was in SD, but he's still done well. The entire Sox roster for the most part has stunk up the joint vs. Detroit. Don't just pick on one guy. Are you kidding me? This thread is full of people slobbering over Peavy's performance because he struck out 9 guys. And Chris Sale makes about $16.5 million less than Peavy and is in his first year as a starter, so that's not exactly comparable. Once again, yes, the whole team has played bad. The reason I specifically mentioned Peavy is because I am sick of hearing about his "bulldog" mentality and how you want him on the mound in big games because he gives 120%. That hasn't translated into results when the Sox have needed a big performance. Yet everyone loves him on this board because he f***ing tries hard.
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 14, 2012 -> 07:13 AM) JCINAA He's no Jake Peavy, that's for sure.
  18. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 06:56 PM) If the entire argument is playing or pitching well against the Tigers, there are a lot more White Sox other than Peavy you can vent your frustrations. I never said that the other White Sox played well. They deserve blame too. I just don't see why Peavy gets a break just because he struck out 9 Tigers. He couldn't even finish the 6th inning and he blew a two-run lead. I'm sorry if my expectations are higher for him than everyone else. God forbid he pitches a gem, and we don't have to depend on a shaky bullpen. Isn't that what top starters do?
  19. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 05:24 PM) How many would have thought we would be in first place on 9-13-12? with DeWayne Wise batting third?
  20. That's 13 straight extra inning victories for Baltimore. 27-7 in one run games this year.
  21. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 03:55 PM) Dayan. vs. Verlander: Dayan: 9 PA, 0 H, 3 K Johnson: 9 PA, 0 H, 3 K, 2 BB
  22. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 13, 2012 -> 03:23 PM) DA. You are the MVP of this thread!!! Not by unanimous vote, that's for sure.
