  1. Jamey Carroll??? WTF? Who is next, Lew Ford?
  2. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 03:27 PM) Back in1st again the tigers lOst to Cleveland, need to win tonight Cleveland has lost 17 of their previous 18 road games. That's a disaster for Detroit.
  3. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 03:56 PM) Getting swept in the biggest series to date and being 1-6 on the road trip gave me no motivation to get to the game. I'm guessing I'm not alone, even if it's half price night. Attendance the next two series will probably be pretty bad. Which is funny, because the Sox will end the night in sole possession of first place.
  4. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 11:01 AM) I see greg's point here as well as knightni's. The issue with Viciedo is indeed perplexing. Ramirez made it to the bigs and performed right away. It has taken Viciedo something like 3-4 years. I think he is enamored with the home run and that's what I see wrong right now. I think that hared long swing he is taking trying to hit every ball amile is the problem. He needs to cut down on the swing and make contact more up the middle and to right. He can do it and looks pretty good when he tries that approach, but usually it's hard and harder with his swings and he wants to pull everything. A bit more major league experience can help. He is young, can learn through good coaching and I think worth keeping. Don't forget that Viciedo is 23. Alexei was already 26 in his first season.
  5. QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 11:18 AM) It does not appear as if they believe they can beat Detroit. in Detroit
  6. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 10:28 AM) The goal is still the same for the Sox - 90 wins. How does this team go 18-11 these last 29 games? Easy. 3-0 vs MIN 1-2 vs KC 3-1 vs DET 2-1 @ MIN 1-2 @ KC 1-2 @ LAA 3-0 vs CLE 2-2 vs TB 2-1 @ CLE
  7. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 09:43 AM) Many NFL experts followed my prediction of the 49ers meeting the Texans in the Superbowl Considering how often the experts are right, that's a bad sign for you.
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 01:16 AM) Fair enough. But let me ask you a question. Right now I want to open a thread entitled, "We should have kept Buehrle." But I would never do that cause of the scorn I'd get. So I'd put it in catch all instead. My question to you is ... would that be a fair thread to start? Go for it. Ahead of time, I will remind you that Buehrle was part of multiple late season collapses with the Sox (he was especially brutal in 2006) and his contract still sucks.
  9. And there is the major cliffhanger I expected Breaking Bad to leave us with...
  10. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 10:24 PM) Sox went from 75.9% to 54.0% to win the division in 3 days. 54 seems high. It probably doesn't take into consideration young pitchers that have never logged innings like this. Last August 26, the Braves were 98.99% Last September 4, the Red Sox were 99.78%
  11. QUOTE (Caesar @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 09:49 PM) Never said they know exactly what is gonna happen always. They dont win all the time. But the Bears dont win 9 games this year. There is a little play from Papa Caesar for you lads. Duh, they are gonna win 11, not 9.
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 09:46 PM) What did Vegas have as the over/under for White Sox wins this season, since the people in Vegas know exactly what is going to happen. What was the Tigers over/under??? I bet they have no chance at hitting that.
  13. QUOTE (Caesar @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 09:44 PM) They werent getting even bets on both sides. The Sox have their ace going and trying to avoid being swept and they open the line up at -175. Vegas knew what was gonna happen tonight. Trust me. Verlander >>>> Sale. In Detroit. Geniuses.
  14. I just remembered, Breaking Bad is on right now. This night just got so much better, f*** baseball.
  15. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 09:41 PM) QUOTE (Caesar @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 08:59 AM) * Judging by the line Vegas opened this game at, they believe Sale is out of gas too. Not looking goood. But, who knows. You have no clue how Vegas does things. They look at history of team performance on Sunday nights, home or away, scheduling and tons of other things. The public sees the Tigers winning two, and Cy Verlander coming to the mound, of course the Tigers were favored. They are trying to get even bets on both sides.
  16. one f***ing pitch. Delmon doesn't golf that out, it's still 1-1
  17. QUOTE (Caesar @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 09:29 PM) I will make a wager. If Detroit loses tomorrow I will never post here again. I don't know if I want to risk that, I appreciate your gambling advice.
  18. QUOTE (Caesar @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 09:26 PM) They lost to teams that they historically the last several years cant beat. This isn't just this year. This is year after year after year Good call, like their 9-3 record against the Twins this year
  19. QUOTE (Caesar @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 09:25 PM) Detroit will not lose tomorrow. Just like Detroit won't get swept in KC, and the Sox won't sweep the Yankees, we have heard it before
  20. QUOTE (Caesar @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 09:24 PM) This line of thinking is so assinine. If Detroit's a better team, how is it choking?
  21. What's the board gonna be like tomorrow night when a tired DET team loses at noon to CLE and the Sox beat MIN at home? "The season is over but we have a one game lead!!!"
  22. QUOTE (Caesar @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 09:21 PM) If you consider choking away a division and playoff appearance fun, then yep, it's gonna be a f***ing blast. A team predicted to lose 95 games? I don't call that choking.
  23. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 09:17 PM) Who's giving up on the season? It's possible Detroit will revert back to s*** and we'll continue playing the percentage baseball we've played all year. Your last 384 posts say differently
