  1. s*** Is About To Get Real. ***cracks open Big Hurt Beer tallboy***
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 06:45 PM) Unless he decides to walk away, it sure is. If he didn't get canned last year, there is no way he's getting canned this year. They have exceeded their own expectations. And a couple young players have emerged, so the future looks brighter relatively
  3. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 06:36 PM) If they miss the playoffs KW should not be GM next year. I'm not disagreeing with you, but unless they lose the last 33 games of the season, KW will be back next year, guaranteed.
  4. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 06:03 PM) A's are 15-2 the last 17. 39-15 since July 1. Amazing. And that includes a series loss in KC of course.
  5. QUOTE (ROC Sox Fan @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 03:34 PM) That said, I am still interested in the Tigers lineup and approach to Sale. Perhaps I should go use googles or twitters. I'm down with the lineup. I want a win. I will not assume defeat. I will be watching all nine innings. All 27 outs. JUST WIN! Jackson cf Infante 2b Fatty #1 3b Fatty #2 1b Delmon lf Peralta ss Garcia rf Boesch dh Laird c
  6. QUOTE (ROC Sox Fan @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 03:20 PM) I'm running with what other people said about it being a Sunday style lineup. I thought the Macho Man was a leader, not a follower?
  7. QUOTE (ROC Sox Fan @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 03:13 PM) What are the Trash Kats running out for their lineup? Sunday style too, or let's f***ing sweep style? How is this a Sunday lineup? Dunn is hurt, Wise has a better chance vs. Verlander than Viciedo does, and everyone wants Beckham demoted anyway?
  8. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 03:00 PM) Good to see the Sunday lineup for such an important game Wise is 6-15 career vs Verlander, best average on the team. Maybe the Sox are actually looking at splits? What have Viciedo & Beckham done recently that makes it a tragedy to sit them in this game anyway?
  9. Still in 1st place on the morning of September 2nd...
  10. Liriano took the over against Mayweather obviously
  11. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Sep 1, 2012 -> 10:41 PM) Let's hope they do this. I'm afraid Sale is out of gas, so I hope the Sox score lots of runs off Verlander, in part by exploiting Cabrera at 3B. Every batter must bunt to 3b at least once. f*** sportsmanship! A win Sunday night and it's still a successful weekend. Get it done!
  12. Gonna be a bit sad to not see the Zooker on the Illini sideline today. I doubt Beckman can barefoot waterski like the old coach.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 10:08 PM) Delmon's easily had his most success in the majors against the White Sox out of all teams. Good thing Ozzie taught him a lesson by having Garcia throw at him in his first AB. From day one I was pissed that the Twins gave DET him for nothing, but they made it up with the Liriano trade.
  14. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 09:57 PM) It was called and Thornton missed. AJ called for a fastbal in, Thornton missed down. Thanks, I missed where AJ was set up. But everytime I hear Delmon Young's name, it's "he likes it down & in".
  15. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 09:53 PM) The Sox lost this game when they had 2,3,4 up with the bases loaded and nobody out and scored nothing. That and when your $17 million starter gave up 6 earned runs. End of discussion.
  16. QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 09:53 PM) I'm not trying to have 2011 arguments, but a typical Adam Dunn, a healthy Jake Peavy, a focused Alex Rios, and a kick ass Chris Sale would make a drunk like me good at managing. I'm not saying Robin is doing a bad job (I have actually been impressed with how tactical he is) but those 4 things have helped....a lot. Is that just good luck for Robin or did Ozzie help contribute to their bad seasons in 2011?
  17. Tampa has lost 12 of their last 13 one-run games. Baltimore has won 13 straight one-run games and is 24-6 on the year.
  18. Did AJ call for that pitch to Delmon Young or did Thornton miss a spot? Every time Young comes up, Hawk/Stone/Farmer/DJ seem to all say he loves it down & in. That pitch was in his f***ing wheelhouse.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 09:36 PM) And that's why just winning one game this series is so important. We will get one of the next two...
  20. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 09:28 PM) Yes, agreed. If we get swept this weekend it will be tough to rebound from for a myriad of reasons. Absolutely. The last time Detroit swept em, the Sox only won 10 of their next 13 and won the next 4 series. Done.
  21. The Jake Peavy trade is officially a bust. Richard, Poreda, and whoever else suck, but the money they paid him has not been worth his performance, and he has choked in any "big" game has pitched in. And Hawk needs to stop talking about how Peavy "battles", he doesnt get paid to battle, he gets paid to get motherf***ers out. That being said, the meltdowns in this thread have been even better than I could have imagined. The odds don't look good for this weekend, but who predicted a Royals sweep this past week? No matter what, the Sox will be on first place on Labor Day morning and they have zero games left in Detroit. f*** it, Sox = 2012 AL Central Champs.
  22. Finally home from work, fridge filled with New Glarus products, I am so ready for this game. LET'S GO WHITE SOX!!!
  23. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 12:25 PM) Fitz and clark suspended officially. I am trying, and I mean trying to root for the conference SEC-style like I should but all I that comes out of my mouth is Roll Tide Why would a OSU fan even think about rooting for Michigan? Ever?
  24. Friday: Sox 5-3 Saturday: Tigers 8-4 Sunday: Tigers 2-0
