  1. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Aug 12, 2012 -> 02:24 PM) Brooks Raley is perfect through 4..... Jinx
  2. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 12, 2012 -> 01:55 PM) Does his profile have Ray or Rey? Ray
  3. Why the f*** does Rey Olmedo have sunglasses on in his MLB.com profile pic?
  4. Why would you do such a silly thing? Um, I mean, Congrats!
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 12, 2012 -> 11:30 AM) What does "occasional" mean in your definition? The best Twins teams in the last decade lost between 0-3 games all season when leading going into the 8th inning. So you are saying we should trade for LaTroy Hawkins and sign Eddie Guardado?
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 11, 2012 -> 10:50 PM) Their August schedule is pretty tough, and it would be nice if Toronto gets their guys healthy so they can play Baltimore and Tampa tough. not until next Friday
  7. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Aug 11, 2012 -> 01:22 PM) The Eagles were great toward the end of 2011, and the Cowboys added Claiborne and Carr + it's the 2nd year with Ryan's D. Plus, word of camp is that Bryant has been great outside of beating up his own mother. It's nothing against NY. Also, you have to remember the Giants were only 9-7 last year and barely made the playoffs in a weaker division. They figured it out come playoff time, but that doesn't mean they will through the regular season this year.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 10, 2012 -> 08:16 PM) Sveum talking about benching Castro And of course Castro is in the lineup today
  9. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 11, 2012 -> 10:53 AM) Will Middlebrooks broke his wrist last night. I bet Boston fans are even happier now that Valentine ran off Youkilis Here comes Danny Valencia to save the day!
  10. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 9, 2012 -> 08:20 AM) Orioles are going for it, they call up top prospect Manny Machado to play 3rd. I'm no expert on prospects, sounds like the kid has tons of talent, but might not be ready for the majors quite yet. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 10, 2012 -> 08:52 PM) 2 homers for Manny Machado. 20 years old. I'm an idiot.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 10, 2012 -> 11:20 PM) He has some pretty big pre/post ASB splits in his career His career splits are 3.58 pre, and 4.12 post. Over a 12 year career, that's a big difference.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 10, 2012 -> 11:24 PM) No word on who will be promoted yet? Makes you wonder if there could be a trade announced after one of these west coast games? I think that the decision on Konerko came so late that they didn't have time to get someone to Chicago in time for Friday night's game. Might as well wait to make the move, in case something else happens.
  13. At Ravinia, on my phone I saw "Jor Danks homered to right", I figured it was a typo, lol. Just watched the highlight, he crushed that ball, 10-15 rows deep, amazing. Sox win!
  14. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Aug 10, 2012 -> 02:51 PM) Obviously he will...but I'm just thinking about the chance to win a Heisman and a National Championship and be playing at a big-time program on scholarship. Not many people have that chance to piss away. Only get once chance at those things. And the free college degree. Oh, wait...
  15. QUOTE (hammerhead johnson @ Aug 10, 2012 -> 02:20 PM) Brandon looks handsome in some pictures, but he's Lord Of The Rings status in others. I'm sure she sees the handsome side. I think it's true love. True love all the way to the bank...
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 10, 2012 -> 02:29 PM) The Lions are already calling.
  17. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Aug 10, 2012 -> 02:02 PM) Sometimes you can have the world, and still manage to piss it away. What an idiot. He will still get his chance in the NFL. I don't think he was super high on draft boards anyway. He could be a special kick returner, but he's kind of short to play CB.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 10, 2012 -> 02:15 PM) I look at a stat like that and think "doping". If you want to see "doping", check out how many world records were set by Eastern Europeans in the 1980s and have yet to be broken.
  19. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Aug 10, 2012 -> 02:01 PM) @JeffPassan While Mike Rizzo wouldn't pin down a number, he said Stephen Strasburg will not exceed 180 innings. How does the best team in baseball shut down it's best player? Shutting him down doesn't guarantee health in 2013 or 2014 anyway. He could still injure his arm again. If you have a legit chance to win the WS, you go for it, because it's not promised again. I know how bright Washington's future looks, but s*** happens in baseball. They should be treating him like the Sox have Sale. Give him extra breaks during the year from time to time, so his arm is getting rest, but can still go the whole season.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 10, 2012 -> 01:27 PM) Which is why the other consideration to me was the 0.4 seconds by which Johnson broke the world record in 1996. True, but OTOH it's not like the world record has been progressing lower over the past 16 years as athletes have been evolving. Bolt is the only runner who has been able to beat 19.32, which just shows how he impressive he is.
