  1. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Aug 8, 2012 -> 08:17 AM) I don't think he had knee surgery. I thought he just rehabbed it. Yeah you are right. Sprained MCL & PCL in the last game of the year vs. the Vikings, but did not have surgery, just rest & rehab.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 7, 2012 -> 10:00 PM) Sox have lost 7 of Peavy's last 10 starts. They need to find a way to start winning more with him on the mound, as he's likely the only sure thing they have with regards to pitching every 5th day. 24 runs scored in Peavy's last 10 starts. And that includes 8 against Minnesota 2 starts ago, so that's 16 in the other 9 starts.
  3. QUOTE (Caesar @ Aug 7, 2012 -> 09:56 PM) KC is 4-4 against the Sox this year, 1-7 against the Tigers. That just may be the difference in this division. Sox are 17-7 vs. MIN & CLE. Detroit is 10-11 against MIN & CLE Blah blah blah blah
  4. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 7, 2012 -> 08:10 PM) Dempster 6 shutout innings so far in Boston. Gave up a 3-run homer to Middlebrooks, but after a 2-out error. 6.2 IP, zero ER and a victory.
  5. QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 7, 2012 -> 07:26 PM) When's the last time Adam had a hit? Friday. 2 for his last 29 or so
  6. QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 7, 2012 -> 07:23 PM) Our first two guys in the lineup don't even have OBPs above .300. Have fun hitting with no one on Dunn and Paulie. No one's on base cause they already scored
  7. QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 7, 2012 -> 07:12 PM) Bad way to start the game for Jake. all over the place
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 7, 2012 -> 06:45 PM) Looks like Tigers are catching the Yankees at a good time, as their offense looks very flat. Granderson has a lot of homers this year, but the rest of his numbers are awful. Eric Chavez laughs at your comment
  9. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Aug 7, 2012 -> 06:21 PM) Did I just hear on the radio that Urlacher is not playing for some reason? He hasn't practiced for a week. Having issues with his knee. Not certain, but I believe it may be related to his off-season surgery.
  10. Tigers/Yankees on MLB Network for all those looking to kill time until first pitch
  11. Twitter: I'm absolutely addicted to it. Any breaking or current sports story is right there at your fingertips. News as well, and weather in the area too. I don't tweet at all or follow any friends for personal contact, I only use it for information. Facebook: I look it about once a day or so, just a way to keep in touch with friends/family you don't see very often. Although it seems as if the use has greatly declined recently.
  12. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 7, 2012 -> 09:49 AM) Verlander's schedule sets up this way: 8-11 at Tex 8-17 vs Bal 8-23 vs Tor 8-28 at KC 9-2 vs Sox 9-8 at LAA 9-13 at Sox 9-19 vs Oak 9-24 vs KC 9-29 at Min Make no mistake, he'll be there for a division tie-breaker, or Wild Card game if they need it. It would be in the Sox best interest to win the division in 162 games. Interesting. I was thinking about heading up to Detroit for the 9/1 & 9/2 games Labor Day weekend. It would both be cool and suck if Verlander pitched one of the games.
  13. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Aug 7, 2012 -> 04:04 PM) Tank needs to start hitting again.. Tonight's the night to start. In 10 ABs vs. Chen: .600/.600/.900
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 7, 2012 -> 02:38 PM) Womens 100m hurdles is today/tonight. All the talk is about LoLo, but the other two Americans have been better, and the favorite is the Australian Pearson

  16. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Aug 7, 2012 -> 02:24 PM) Women's gymnastics:
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 7, 2012 -> 09:55 AM) Youk? Judging from what we know about him, that sounds exactly like something Youk would do.
  18. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Aug 7, 2012 -> 09:40 AM) Unlike their soccer counterparts, the women's hoops team had no troubles with Canada and is easily through to the semis. Unlike their soccer counterparts, the women's hoops team won with nobody watching and little fanfare because women's basketball sucks.
  19. That was one of my favorite games of the year. Sale getting out of the jam and just destroying Cain in that at-bat. Beckham making another appearance in a big way. Not letting those damn Royals spoil the party like the last few years.
  20. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 6, 2012 -> 07:54 PM) TO to Seattle. Who quits/gets cut first? TO or Moss?
  21. AJP (wanted to get my pick in before I leave work)
  22. Sox announce Liriano on Saturday, Sale on Sunday, which confirms Humber to the 'pen. edit: LOL, somehow I didn't realize that I actually posted this info 5 minutes ago. Getting old...
