  1. QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 07:40 PM) I would be happy about having 3 guys on base if Hudson wasnt up. 0 GIDP this season
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 07:32 PM) Stranger things have happened, but no way Verlander comes unglued again at home with a 4-0 lead. Just get it to within 3 so you can face Valverde in the 9th, then all bets are off.
  3. This newfound ability to throw out baserunners is outstanding!
  4. I wonder where DeJesus's wife is sitting, they need to show her
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 06:46 PM) Austin Jackson has turned into a star What an amazing trade that was for all 3 teams involved.
  6. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 06:30 PM) Is Flowers in to give AJP a break against a LHP, or is Flowers going to become Peavy's personal catcher since it appears AJ and Jake don't look like they would really enjoy having a couple of beers with each other. AJP has caught 10 of JFP's 13 starts, including the last 4
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 03:25 PM) Committed Indians Bowman told the media Hossa + Montador are progressing & hopes theyrready for Sept. Also said Carcillo's skating & "close to 100%" If Montador came back healthy and contributing, that would be huge, especially considering his salary number.
  8. Tristan H. Cockcroft ‏@SultanofStat In his past 34 games, Adam Dunn has struck out in exactly half (60) of his at-bats (120). Yet he has a .508 slugging percentage. Dunn is also on pace to set a record with a 37.0 K% … yet manage the 16th-most homers in history (56).
  9. QUOTE (hammerhead johnson @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 02:40 PM) Okay, so we should take pre-2011 stats into account when assessing how good of pitcher Brandon McCarthy is as of this moment. His Texas years are definitely relevant, as he hasn't made dramatic improvements since then. You're right, that makes total sense. We should take into account his recurring injury problems throughout his career and the fact that he is injured again right now. Today will be his 5th start in the last 50 days. Not to mention he has moved to a huge pitchers park where his ERA is over 1.50 less than it is on the road since joining Oakland.
  10. QUOTE (hammerhead johnson @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 02:21 PM) I am talking about the here and now, not 2008 or 2009. He had a 5-to-1 K-to-BB ratio last year, and he's working on an ERA+ of 150 thus far in the 2012 season. I'd say that he's arrived. By that logic, BMac >>>>> Roy Halladay
  11. Scott Merkin ‏@scottmerkin White Sox release official info on John Danks: mild Grade 1 strain of the subscapularis muscle in his left shoulder. Tests show no tendon or ligament damage, and his labrum is intact. The strain has shown improvement from previous MRI on May 23. Danks will begin a rehabilitation and strengthening program on Friday under supervision of head athletic trainer Herm Schneider Danks tentatively will begin another rehabilitation assignment in the next 3-4 weeks. So almost certainly no Danks until after the All-Star Break
  12. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 12:11 PM) I think it's insane to punish players for roiding, when roids saved the game. MLB had to know pipsqueak Sosa turning into a monster and hitting 66 bombs while Big Mac was jacking 70 was due to steroids. They f***ing loved it and the attention it brought the game. Exactly. They embraced it and did nothing to stop it, and now they wanna punish all those players? Plenty of the pitchers who they were facing were on the juice too. That's how some of them were able to make the jump from AAA to the majors.
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 11:31 AM) Its $90.45 for bleachers tonight. Brooks needs to avoid the person who turned him on to dynamic pricing. I'm confused by dynamic pricing for these games. They aren't selling out and don't seem to be selling many more tickets. (I assume many tickets were bought in the spring) Shouldn't the price be going down?
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 10:05 AM) See Astros, Houston. Then again, we had a 90% chance at sweeping the best team in baseball on the road. Houston: 28-39 Cubs: 23-44
  15. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 09:43 AM) When you play the worst team in baseball at home, you should win. Not asking a lot. True, but it's kind of hard when their ace is facing your worst pitcher.
  16. QUOTE (oldsox @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 09:49 AM) Is there nany prodound explanation of Nate Jones' poor showing Monday night? It's simple. The White Sox are Luis Valbuena's b****. The stats back it up.
  17. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 07:44 PM) It certainly stains his reputation, but I think he will get in. Maybe not first ballot, but he will get in Well if he gets in then Bonds better get in too
  18. Travis Wood vs. JFP is as big of a mismatch as Stewart vs. Garza. MUST WIN!!!
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 11:46 PM) You worry far too much about home/road record. The Royals are 11-20 at home this year, yet you seem very worried they're going to finish better than the White Sox. Cleveland has the best home record in the AL Central. 18-18
  20. Bad news for this season, but good news for the rest of his contract. If this is what was bothering him all season, and maybe some of last season, hopefully it can heal up & 2008-2010 Danks can come back for the next 4 seasons.
  21. Wow. Can't blame that one on Stewart. Time for bed, have fun friends.
