  1. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 11:43 AM) You had no point. Last nights game lead to people discussing the referees, some people dont think it was a big deal, other people do. But to try and insinuate somehow Soxtalk does it more than a common fan is ludicrous and not supported by fact. Unless you can somehow prove that Soxtalk does complain/discuss refs more than an average NBA fan. My point was that if the roles were reversed last night, the talk today would only be about LeBron choking again, not about a no-call. But because the game ended in Miami's favor, it's automatically time to b**** about the refs.
  2. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 11:34 AM) Here you go Balta: http://www.bizjournals.com/buffalo/news/20...up-to-235k.html When they do those calculations, what exactly do they include for housing? I mean, you have to pay for a home, kids or no kids. Maybe you buy an extra bedroom or two?
  3. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 11:32 AM) So there are a bunch of articles discussing the impact on reffing, and youre conclusion is it is only a Soxtalk phenomenon? You missed my point but whatever.
  4. Adam Dunn career vs. Kershaw: 7 for 11, 2 2B, 3 HR, 7 RBI .636/.636/1.636 = 2.273 OPS
  5. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 10:39 AM) Really, you think that Soxtalk influenced yahoo to write an article about it? http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--heat-eve...bron-james.html I didnt realize how influential this message board was, I guess they should give us credit. And here's another article on Yahoo saying that the call didn't matter, LeBron beat Durant, series tied. Here's another article written that says a no-call was the right decison and questions the Battier blocking foul.
  6. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 10:09 AM) Battier slid under Durant after Durant was already in the air. That really should be a blocking foul. The NBA has started calling this way to many times. If the offensive player is already in the air, the defensive player should not have a right to slide under him. That was one of the few 50/50 calls that went OKC's way. The majority went to the Heat. Say what you want, but there is a reason why a lot of people are talking about the refs, and its not just because Soxtalk posters always complain about the Bulls or Heat. No, I'd say that's exactly why people are complaing about it, but say what you want.
  7. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 10:00 AM) Huh? The new adminstration cut a crappy old draft pick of the previous administration (mostly Martz). Wasted pick of the previous FO, new FO cleaning up their mess Wow. I am an idiot. For some reason I thought he was drafted this year. Disregard my last post, carry on as you all were.
  8. Bears waive Nathan Enderle. New administration, still wasting draft picks.
  9. People had given the advice before, but what's the best way to stop a dog's allergies? Specifically, when he keeps licking/chewing at his feet? Benadryl? Just as his back paw is finally healing up, he is starting to go to town on one of his front paws. When we leave for the day, not only does he get the cone of shame, but we also have to wrap the foot up because he can work around the cone if he really tries.
  10. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 12:36 AM) Alright, I'm one season in on the Breaking Bad catch up marathon. Damn, I wish I had started watching it originally. I actually watched the first three episodes in 2008, but couldn't get into it then. I have all the episodes recording on the DVR. Just need to find the time to start watching, but definitely excited for it.
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 01:28 AM) Name one manager who could have orchestrated the type of run we had in the 2005 postseason? Those who fail to credit Ozzie for having the right clubhouse attitude as we mauled everybody are ingrates IMO. The use of his starting pitching and refusal to over-manage, every move of his worked. He was important to our '05 run and yet many people seem to actually hate him. THIS AMAZES ME. Truly insane IMO. So it ended poorly. It's not like he was the only reason for our demise. Dunn, Rios, KW's idiotic moves like Manny and some ridiculous trades ... need I go on?? 2005 has nothing to do with my post at all. The Marlins hired Ozzie strictly to appeal to their largely Hispanic fan base, in a state with an awful history of pro sports attendance. It was not a baseball decision, it was a money decision.
  12. Durant shouldn't have been in the game at the end. That Shane Battier blocking foul with 3:19 left was a brutal call, that should have been #6 on KD.
  13. QUOTE (Tex @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 08:50 PM) I'm not too certain about that. He is about the lowest rated manager by most posters here, yet the Marlins and their fans were practically dancing in the streets to get him. They valued him much higher than Sox fans. So it seems like we underrated him compared to Marlin ownership and fans. At least when he was announced as their manager. In reality they probably overrated him and we underrated him. Time will tell who was closer to reality. They didn't hire him for his managerial skills. They hired him for publicity to help fill seats in their new stadium because Florida has the worst fanbase in pro sports.
  14. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 11:00 AM) Yep your completely unfounded accusation is much more likely than what happens every day in Court. http://wills.about.com/b/2012/03/26/probat...ones-sealed.htm Did Davey Jones want to hide money from 2nd Mile too? No, he just didn't want the public to know where his locker was.
  15. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 10:49 AM) The Paterno will stuff is nonsense. Yes its rare, but not when they are a celebrity and they dont want the public to be able to pull their will and find out who they gave their money too. Or they have a will that merely says, everything to my trust and the trust isnt a public record. Or find out how much money they earned from a charity that was handing off little boys to a child molester.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 08:20 AM) Jon Morosi ‏@jonmorosi Sources: #Tigers have interest in trading for Carlos Quentin. He has a scorching 1.463 OPS in 12 games with #Padres since returning from DL. Does their DL have enough room for CQ? They already have enough injuries.
  17. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 13, 2012 -> 11:49 PM) I understand nostalgia and all that. I'm just saying, I learned absolutely nothing from this documentary that I didn't already know. It's too bad there were no cell phone cameras and s*** back then. I got the feeling that some of the guys were really diggin' some of the female attention they got. We know Michael stuck his dick in just about anything. I've heard Ewing was the same way. That would've been more entertaining than details of how competitive practice was. We knew that back in 1998. Were you hoping for a Dream Team sex video?
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 12:58 AM) Proof that he is a good manager to play for. Mark Buehrle. I rest my case, your honors. Proof that Jim Riggleman is a good manager to play for. Jayson Werth. I rest my case, your honors.
  19. Lance Armstrong faces fresh doping charges from USADA
  20. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 13, 2012 -> 03:16 PM) The shot of Riley and Zo in their black suits standing in a sea of blue OKC shirts last night when the Thunder were going off late in the 4th quarter was priceless. Why the hell were they sitting in the stands? I thought all opposing management got at least one suite.
  21. All the crazy Terry Doyle talk can finally end: Mark Gonzales ‏@MDGonzales Sox released Triple-A Charlotte pitcher Terry Doyle so he could pursue opportunities in Japan. Doyle was 6-3 with a 2.83 ERA in 12 games (11 starts) with the Knights.
  22. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 13, 2012 -> 10:26 AM) The devils like to party: http://deadspin.com/5918042/the-devils-had...eir-game-6-loss Is it wrong to party after losing the stanley cup finals? If you are wearing a suit and cannot walk because you are dunk is that more acceptable? Those are some serious grade A LA trashbags they take into their party bus, hope your wives arent reading the internet. Wonder if they choked any of them. I wonder how many of those LA trashbags thought they were partying with the Kings and were looking for the Stanley Cup. It's LA, it's not like they know anything about hockey players. This same arugment came up when Gronkowski partied after the Super Bowl. I understand some people wouldn't go party, but criticizing them is stupid IMO. These guys worked so hard to get this far, if that's how they want to blow off steam, big f***ing deal. It's not like they have a game for the next 5 months.
