QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Oct 24, 2017 -> 10:59 PM) Career .500 hitter in a Sox uni. Y'all give up too easy. He's no Matt Albers, 1.000 avg in a White Sox uni -
A 2:29 playoff game? I didn't even realize that was possible

Is Vegas just gonna dominate at home all season because the opponents have major hangovers? Hawks have been there for two nights. -
The New York Times with a pretty impressive video journal timeline of the night, using all of the various video and accounts and reports they were able to get their hands on. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/10/23/insider/...l-by-pixel.html

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Oct 22, 2017 -> 10:09 PM) Firing bosio seemed odd Sounds like a scapegoat so that Maddon can reunite with his old pitching coach.

First pitch forecast for tomorrow night: 95 degrees.

QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 23, 2017 -> 08:35 AM) Bears defense has been good enough for about a year now (I feel like end of october was turning point) that even with our offense I feel we could have a winning record save for one thing holding us back: our terrible terrible turnover ratio. It's amazing how much turnovers help. And good special teams. Having a legit pass rush to fun to watch. And of course it makes everyone else's job on defense that much easier. Hicks is earning that big payday.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 23, 2017 -> 09:05 AM) Deonte Thompson, 4 catches 107 yards in his Bills debut. I saw that, I had to look him up to see if it was the same guy or a different Deonte Thompson. And it's not like the Bills are a proficient passing offense either.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 21, 2017 -> 10:00 PM) Wow. I didn’t see Michigan’s defense getting violated like that Or USC, that was ugly. Notre Dame is actually underrated. Harbaugh might need a big win soon. Penn State vs Ohio State should be fun -
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 22, 2017 -> 12:44 PM) Eddie f***ing Jackson Not saying this only because of today, but that's gonna be an amazing draft pick. Can't believe teams were that scared away due to an injury

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 22, 2017 -> 07:21 PM) The Bears need wide recievers, period. The opposing defenses don’t even worry about them and still stack the box, they don’t give Trubisky much of a chance to do anything. When he does get a chance you see what he can do, which is pretty good. But the Fox method of getting any lead and salting off the clock is just terrible. It's a weird combination of a rookie QB, zero wide receivers, and the most conservative coach in the league. Today was rough to watch, but they got the early lead and it worked out, no reason to force anything extra on Trubisky yet. But that is not gonna work next weekend in NOLA.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 22, 2017 -> 06:19 PM) Definitely has the makings for one of the better World Series in recent memory. I agree the edge goes to the Dodgers, but it's close. I think it comes down to Kershaw. If he can pitch well, I suspect the Dodgers win. If the Astros get to him, I think the Astros win. I'm so intrigued by the Kershaw angle here. In the past, he has either been pressured by being the ace for a mediocre team or he was forced to pitch in short rest, more than once even. Now he is on the best team, fully rested and not over worked, it's his time to shine, but there are no excuses. I think the Dodgers win because of the Darvish trade, he is their 3rd pitcher yet could be an ace.

The turnover fairy has finally returned to Chicago.

QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 21, 2017 -> 10:25 PM) Rebuilds work. Should be great World Series. Royals, Cubs, Astros Can't help but be optimistic as Sox fans

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 21, 2017 -> 09:11 PM) All the former Sox players struggling late in their playoff performances. Sale, Q, Frazier just had a chance to tie the game, Kahnle and Robertson getting torched the last two games. Ratings are really going to take a hit with the Astros instead of the Yankees...but you have the “feel good” story for Houston after the hurricane at least. Yankees have only scored three total runs in four games in Houston. White Sox pitching has been great until 3 days ago now they are blowing the series.
-
QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 20, 2017 -> 10:30 PM) Come on Giles. Putting Giles in the game was pretty dumb. He threw almost 30 pitches and the Yankees got extra at bats against him

Verlander in Houston has been like CC in Milwaukee.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 20, 2017 -> 07:10 PM) Zobrist really showing his age and the bullpen weaknesses on the left side were just two key issues. They’re going to have to overpay for another starter in FA, trade Happ/Russell/Baez/Schwarber or put it off until the trade deadline next year. 2018 is probably their final season not to have to worry (too much) about competition within the NL Central. Have a feeling the Brewers will yo yo back and forth like the Twins the last three years. With Rizzo, Bryant and Contreras, they have three studs. The problem is the Dodgers are a much better team now (Puig has even found a role), the Cubs’ defense rapidly regressed (Fowler departure and Zobrist showing age, Schwarber/Happ well below average). Nevertheless, young players like Russell and Almora can quickly put it all together...just a matter of just a few of those guys progressing and making the right decision on who to trade from the Baez/Schwarber/Happ grouping. And Schwarber could put up some huge numbers in Yankee Stadium with that short RF porch...an overpay by the Yankees might be worth it, because his value right now is so depressed compared to a couple of years ago. Good to see you around Caulfield, your boy Puig is en fuego!

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 20, 2017 -> 05:29 PM) Was it a bad thing when the 82-80 Cardinals won? For us it was funny because we got to laugh at Cubs fans, but overall it was absolutely dreadful for the sport and seeing a crap team like that win it all just makes 6 months of baseball pointless.

QUOTE (Tony @ Oct 20, 2017 -> 08:32 AM) Being able to print your own money will help any Front Office. If I’m starting a team, I’m asking Theo to build it. It's not like Theo is working on some razor thin budget, he's thrown some money around too. I'd probably take Theo #1 too, but I'm just impressed with the full roster the Dodgers built. For all the money on their books, their lineup last night was full of guys who don't make much money at all.

QUOTE (Tony @ Oct 19, 2017 -> 11:49 PM) The good news for the Cubs is they have the best Baseball Ops team in the league. Best? The Ops team that just ran through cases of champagne at Wrigley begs to differ

QUOTE (KagakuOtoko @ Oct 19, 2017 -> 10:10 PM) Who were the people who said the cubs were going to win tonight? I thought Q was gonna dominate but respected your gambling prowess and you were very right, mad props.
