QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 19, 2017 -> 10:03 PM) Have a night k***. Do you think the swear filter would still block it if you put the accent on the e?
-
QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 19, 2017 -> 10:00 PM) I guess he shook off the past and will do well in the world series. It's a lot easier when you have a 7 run lead starting your 3rd inning. We will see, but I'll be rooting for him, seems like a good dude.

QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 19, 2017 -> 09:56 PM) How many innings did Kershaw go tonight? I wasn't watching. 6 innings, 89 pitches
-
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Oct 19, 2017 -> 09:09 PM) Eh he had the highest WAR of their SP in the 2nd half and his first two playoff starts he pitched fine, hardly a bad acquisition for them thus far. I don't think anybody here doubts that it was a great acquisition for the Cubs. We just would hate to see him get the wrath of the ignorant fans all off-season, these are the people that treat David Ross like an all time legend.

I just saw what McDavid did on the first Edmonton goal. That kids is amazing. -
QUOTE (Tony @ Oct 19, 2017 -> 08:23 PM) I feel like a lot of Cubs fans felt like this thing was over a few days ago. I don’t think Q will get too much s***, and next year, he should be a workhorse for them and earn at least some brownie points. True, and I think a lot of those critics ignored his contract status, the trade wasn't for one year like Chapman was. Meanwhile, if the Dodgers blow this, Kershaw better retire immediately, he is cursed.

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Oct 19, 2017 -> 08:01 PM) That was bittersweet to watch Yeah, that kinda sucks. I've been hyping him up to my Cubs fan wife the past few weeks and then this happens. I definitely prefer the Cubs to lose, just not on Q's watch. Fans who don't know better already questioned the trade, even though it seems like a winner for both sides. Hopefully he is not the off-season whipping boy when the offense and bullpen are so at fault.

QUOTE (Tony @ Oct 19, 2017 -> 08:04 PM) k***!!!! Never pegged you as an anti-Semite Tony...

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Oct 18, 2017 -> 06:33 PM) Schwarber batting 2nd against a lefty?

QUOTE (KagakuOtoko @ Oct 19, 2017 -> 02:29 PM) I put another 3K on Dodgers RL. Nice, I always have faith in your betting hunches. I just really worry about the Dodgers getting hits against Q, I think he's gonna shine. But if there ever was a time for Kershaw to kill those postseason demons it would be now, because even a loss leaves them two more chances.

QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Oct 19, 2017 -> 10:53 AM) As long as the MLBPA exists, the DH will NEVER be removed. Doing so would take jobs away from existing members. Regardless of how you feel about the DH, there's only one way for it to go: upward. More DH teams can be added, but none will ever go away. I was gonna post the same thing, but I had a differing thought. DH or no DH, the roster is 25 players. While removing the DH would cost certain sluggers their jobs, doesn't the existence of the DH take away a job from either an extra reliever or light-hitting defensive specialist? The same amount of jobs would be there, it would just take away a job from one type of player and hand it to a different type of player. Obviously the PA won't see it that way, but it didn't seem that cut and dry when I thought about it longer.

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Oct 19, 2017 -> 09:12 AM) Earlier in this thread it said he could replace an injured player but then said replaced player would not be allowed on to a world series roster. Utley, Granderson and 3 catchers makes for an poorly constructed roster. Granderson is terrible. Is "old age" a valid injury excuse?

QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Oct 19, 2017 -> 07:27 AM) What a clunker last night. Their record is good, but they definitely haven't been too impressive after winning the first two games 15-2. -
QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 19, 2017 -> 12:05 AM) Good post. This is going to be remembered as the Cubs IMO continue winning. Roberts has been deemed a genius until tonight. You might just win back that house you lost on the Indians. This series is going back to LA, Q shuts em down tonight and Kershaw has his typical postseason performance, about 4 ER.

Even the Cubs outs are getting hit hard today

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Oct 18, 2017 -> 06:33 PM) Schwarber batting 2nd against a lefty? Every time I saw a Cubs game, it seemed like Happ had an extra base hit, yet he can't find the lineup. Not sure what side he's stronger, but he is a switch hitter, which Schwarber is not. Wonder if Happ refused to have a drink of wine with Maddon and got in the dog house or something.
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 30, 2017 -> 01:09 AM) Cubs a lock to reach WS; ditto Cleveland. It's destined to be a rematch and Cleveland fans shouldn't assume revenge is complete. Cubs will be loose if they get that far and win it again. Then we'll be looking at a possible threepeat? My gawd. Bartman would finally come out of hibernation if Cubs win their second in a row. Who the hell would do anything but hug him then?

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 17, 2017 -> 11:28 PM) I do like Washington and to a little lesser extent Miami. But the eastern conference champion has already been crowned with Hayward's injury. Damn shame. And so has the West champion. 4th straight year the NBA Finals matchup has been determined in October with the same 2 teams. I try to enjoy the basketball being played, but How do people get into the regular season if it means absolutely nothing? -
They need to do something about Russell and his bat, it slips out of his hand way too often for comfort.
-
QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 17, 2017 -> 11:30 PM) Umps bailing the Cubs out. To be fair, it was the right call, he put his hand up.
-
Should have just started the inning with Jansen if you are gonna use Stripling and it's only 5 runs.
-
QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 17, 2017 -> 11:02 PM) They would have been better off trading for Anthony Swarzak lol. Or Juan Minaya!
-
QUOTE (Tony @ Oct 17, 2017 -> 10:57 PM) Wonder if he’s still got the magician on speed dial. Not with this bullpen, they could wear basketball jersey Speedo pajamas on their next flight and these guys would still suck. That Justin Wilson trade was an epic fail, Avila came in handy during the Contreras injury, but the division was theirs anyway and Wilson got taken off the roster.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 17, 2017 -> 10:34 PM) It's cause guys like Barnes aren't big names. He was extremely productive this year. Plus lineups in the NL are usually pretty bad towards the backend. I totally understand and guys like Hernandez and Forsythe crush LHP , but it's just something to see on paper this deep in the playoffs. Then again, guys like Freidman are so great at putting their players in the best position to succeed. It's why we were so pissed when LaRoche would.keep facing LHP.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Oct 17, 2017 -> 03:47 PM) Spurs tied Real Madrid on the road. Outside of early season draws in the EPL, they look like a top team in the world. And Dortmund couldn't even get a win in Cyprus, so the Group of Death quickly dissipated. Poor Pulisic
