  1. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 7, 2012 -> 02:33 PM) He read that wrong. De Aza? I was wondering how the heck Hafner got a triple
  2. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ May 7, 2012 -> 02:24 PM) Since his initial rough start Quintana has done a pretty good job. Saving the bullpen a little at least Quintana for closer!
  3. Claude Giroux suspended for game 5 for a elbow to the head of Zubrus last night. That's right, a superstar with no history got suspended for an elimination game even though the hit resulted in no injury. The backlash to the Shea Weber punishment (or lack thereof) continues.
  4. QUOTE (Cali @ May 7, 2012 -> 01:53 PM) Just checked the score.... So today is just gonna be a distaster of epic porportions huh? Haha It's not easy to match that 4th of July doubleheader at home vs. the Twins a few years ago. It was like a 20-12 & 12-0 sweep by the Twinkies.
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 7, 2012 -> 01:49 PM) Has Harrelson just completely lost it yet? Still in the booth? Ramirez finally makes a play to get us out of the most embarassing inning of the season for White Sox baseball. You must not have watched the first Orioles game
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2012 -> 01:42 PM) He'll get the rest of the year on the roster, but with Kenny seemingly pushing for guys like Quintana and Molina to get to the majors, Humber could end up in the bullpen. Maybe we should switch him & Sale?
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2012 -> 01:29 PM) Awesome SB - G Beckham (2, 4th base off Z McAllister/C Santana). He's the next Bryce Harper!
  8. QUOTE (Jake @ May 7, 2012 -> 01:19 PM) Come on Brent, contribute for once. He has the Sox only RBI?
  9. So nice to have a leadoff hitter that can actually get an extra-base hit
  10. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 7, 2012 -> 10:31 AM) Ready for big screen baseball this morning You may be ready for it, but it may not happen. Gonzo just reported that T-storms are hitting Cleveland right now.
  11. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 7, 2012 -> 10:22 AM) GMAB. They promoted Neftali Feliz, who's making like 500K, to the rotation. Ogando, who's been their best reliever so far, is making under 500 K. Mark Lowe is under 2 million. Robbie Ross is making peanuts. The other guys were through trades as they were making back-2-back World Series runs. They haven't wasted any real resources in assembling their bullpen. It's not a scrapped together bullpen like Tampa. They signed an old closer as a FA for $7 million a year. They traded for two proven set-up guys, who both make $4+ million a year. That's $15 million right there, not counting Feldman's $6.5 mil as the long man. I wouldn't say they haven't wasted any real resources, not many teams could spend that much on a bullpen. The fact that they can afford it due to their other moves is another discussion.
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 7, 2012 -> 10:04 AM) Texas spent a ton of cash for Joe Nathan. The Rangers scrapped together bullpen has 4 guys making $4 million or higher.
  13. ADA cf Brent L. 3b Dunn dh PK 1b AJP c Rios rf Alexei SS Kosuke lf Beckham 2b
  14. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 7, 2012 -> 12:28 AM) Apparently Hamels admitted he did it on purpose too. That's awesome. And it's even more awesome that Harper stole home in the same inning.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ May 6, 2012 -> 02:17 PM) Brewers injury issues have gotten just ridiculous the last 10 days or so Nationals aren't doing much better in that department. Morse has yet to play, Zim has been on the DL, and know Werth is out for up to 2 months.
  16. QUOTE (zenryan @ May 5, 2012 -> 04:24 PM) Gary Bettman, is that you? Gary Bettman owns the Yotes....
  17. .250/.376/.573, GW homer off Valverde Adam f***ing Dunn1!!!!!
  18. QUOTE (Jake @ May 4, 2012 -> 09:41 PM) Is Bruce Weber coaching this team? Ugh, shut up. Chicago sports have been killing me enough, please don't bring up the Illini too.
  19. The Bull strength w/o Rose is supposed to be their big guys down low, but yet Spencer Hawes has 21 & 9, ugh.
  20. QUOTE (flavum @ May 4, 2012 -> 09:18 PM) Remember this thread? May 4th around 5pm... this team became dead to me. For me they lasted until about 8:30 PM tonight. At this point, I am just gonna keep tuning in to watch Adam Dunn hit home runs to make up for last season. (Ugh, I sound like a 98-02 Cubs fan)
  21. Beckham is 8 for his last 13 & his raised his averaged by 83 points
  22. Who is this guy wearing the Beckham jersey???
  23. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 4, 2012 -> 07:44 PM) I mean, technically it's true. There are 5 times as many starters in baseball than there are closers. And there are many more great starters in baseball than great closers, but still, of equal skill, a starter has much more value. Yeah, but it's much harder to find a good starter than a good closer. Look at how many random guys get thrown in the 9th inning spot and succeed. You can't say the same thing about starters, especially starters pitching like Sale had been.
