  1. Cubs in all 3 games, sorry Mark. Although I would have thrown a second vote towards upset that Zambrano can't have a meltdown, hopefully it happens at Wrigley later in the year. It is much easier to root for the Cubs this series, knowing they have nearly zero chance to make a playoff run this year.
  2. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 17, 2012 -> 11:12 AM) I just wish I would have known Peavy was there, I can walk to that bar. I've been there twice. Both times it's been packed with drunken boobs and very loud country music.
  3. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 17, 2012 -> 10:52 AM) lol I wasnt being serious, just wanted to poke at Steve. And isnt the last Metra train at like 1am? Think about how many bad decisions your missing out on. Very true my friend, the 4 AM bar visits have definitely decreased. Although I live close to O'Hare and am only like a $30-$40 cab ride away home, so luckily the bad decisions still do happen from time to time.
  4. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 17, 2012 -> 10:39 AM) When youre married and live in the suburbs, 26 is to old. f*** that. I'm 29, and we moved to the burbs about 1.5 years ago, and I'm still partying at a decent clip, although a bit less than when I lived in the city. Thank god for the drunk train, aka Metra.
  5. His BABIP so far is .426 and his FIP is 3.32, so some correction should be expected.
  6. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Apr 17, 2012 -> 09:15 AM) Any bets on if Shaw gets suspended? I say no, just a hefty fine that he will "pay" with help from the team. The fact that he had his hearing yesterday, but the decision was postponed until today makes me think the NHL is waiting to see if Mike Smith plays. He didn't practice yesterday, but that may have been more precautionary.
  7. I realize that Verlander's a machine, but 131 pitches in April can't be a good idea, right? Although, his fastball was hitting triple digits throughout that 9th inning.
  8. I watch Dunn's at-bats and still hold a small glimmer of hope that one of these days we will finally get to witness Adam Dunn: Beast Mode for a few games. Alas, I just don't think it's ever gonna happen again.
  9. I guess the one good thing about last night is Hamilton played 34 minutes and scored 22 points. Maybe he's finally healthy....for now.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 17, 2012 -> 07:55 AM) No, they shouldn't be caring about that. Really. The only way this team is going to put butts in the seats is to get back to winning ballgames. If that means playing kids and dealing with struggles, or playing failing players because they're highly paid, so be it. Get everything out of the assets you have. If they snap together and pull off something fine...if not, then you've done a key step in rebuilding. Yeah, I get your point, kinda similar to what is going down on the North side of town as well. It's just that the less revenue that comes in only hinders the rebuilding process, but what can you do?
  11. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Apr 16, 2012 -> 05:16 PM) Scout on Gordon's struggles: MLB scout on #WhiteSox 2B Gordon Beckham (.136): "He’s not getting his front foot down, and that’s the most important part of the swing.” Scot Gregor via twitter. Does Jeff Manto have Twitter? Someone RT that in his direction, it can't hurt.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 17, 2012 -> 07:46 AM) No one anywhere should care about this. The people who are signing Dunn & Rios's checks care about that.
  13. Last night's attendance was 13,732. As far as I can tell, that's the smallest crowd since early 2005. So either the Sox are gonna win it all again this year, or they have officially lost all momentum they gained from the WS title.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 16, 2012 -> 09:52 PM) If he still in the 90-91 range, he might be hurt. According to Gameday, he was at 91/92 in the first inning
  15. Not a pretty inning for Crain, but got the job done
  16. Gordon strikes out, los Tigres win. Verlander finishes with 132 pitches
  17. Verlander hits Escobar. Gordon up with the bases juiced.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 16, 2012 -> 09:42 PM) Something that will make you laugh...I could totally see the Cubs going after Beckham if he's non-tendered. Theo's been interested in him in the past I believe. lol, Beckham & Ian Stewart can battle for most disappointing MLB career
  19. Verlander walks Maier on pitch #125. 1st & 2nd, two out, 3-2 Detroit
  20. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 16, 2012 -> 09:36 PM) It's time to trade Beckham instead of send him down. He's not going to be sent down at this point of his career. However, his future may be resembling that of Brian Anderson if he doesn't get his s*** together. Another team or two and bye bye. Trade him for what? Nobody wants him. He still has options left, so might as well send him down.
  21. Speaking of Lincecum, his struggles continue as he just gave up a 4-spot in the first at home vs Philly
