  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 5, 2012 -> 02:39 PM) Worse than the Mariners, A's or Padres? Surely, they would be better than the Orioles, solely based on their starting rotation and bullpen. The Twins, if Mauer and Morneau aren't healthy, would have a hard time topping that line-up as well, since they've lost Young/Kubel/Cuddyer in the last year. All you have offensively is Morse, Young, & a washed up Caballo. Allen & Sweeney don't provide anything special, all Getz can do is steal but not get on base. Catcher is OK I guess.
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 5, 2012 -> 02:28 PM) CF Chris Young RF Ryan Sweeney 1B Carlos Lee LF Michael Morse DH B.Allen/C.Carter 3B Josh Fields (yikes)/Joe Crede (haha) C Humberto Quintero/Miguel Olivo (if you can count Miguel for us and not the A's) 2B Chris Getz SS ??? Bench: Magglio Ordonez, Mike Cameron (now retired), Aaron Rowand This would compete for the worst lineup in the majors.
  3. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Apr 5, 2012 -> 02:04 PM) Adma LaRoche making the Nats look bad today. Two god awful at-bats. I know Morse is hurt, but that lineup doesn't look very tough for a supposed contender. Mark DeRosa??? Call up Bryce Harper now
  4. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 5, 2012 -> 01:59 PM) Mets on the board. Finally. David Wright to the resuce!
  5. It's already the 6th inning in Pittsburgh & Erik Bedard hasn't gotten injured yet? Wow.
  6. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 5, 2012 -> 01:16 PM) 19 half innings today. No runs. I waited 5 months for this??????
  7. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 5, 2012 -> 01:15 PM) What I kept waiting to happen was see where the "sponsors" came in. They made such a big deal about needing to be sponsored, but when did that even come in to play? I never saw anyone get a care package from a sponsor. They did do the part where a "much needed item" was placed on that table, but they didn't say it had anything to do with sponsors, it seemed it was a risk/reward type thing that everyone had a chance to do. What about the medicine that flew in for Peeta? A parachute dropped in when Katniss was in a tree. I remember a few scenes where Woody Harrelson was chatting with the rich Capitol folk in an effort to gain sponsors.
  8. I guess it's Opening Day #3, but whatever. Baseball is back! BoSox waste a leadoff double by Papi in the 2nd vs. Cy Verlander. Scoreless as Prince makes his debut.
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 5, 2012 -> 02:54 AM) That, and they telegraphed everything too much by having the Gamekeeper (Wes Bentley) designing them in the studio...and removing all their harrowing, human characteristics, so they weren't really scary at all compared to the dreadful/ominous feeling evoked in the books. I enjoyed seeing the GameKeeper telegraph everything. It added emphasis to the fact how the whole Capitol thought of it as some fun game, while these kids are being slaughtered. It would have been cooler if they would have added the human characteristics. To give the similar dreadful feeling they had in the book, the human characteristics had to be portrayed with much detail IMO, nothing very cheesy visually, and it might have taken extra screen time to fully show who they were. Maybe they decided it wasn't worth the extra $$$/time?
  10. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Apr 5, 2012 -> 08:42 AM) Gregg Williams instructed Saints during speech to injure Niners offensive players Then Williams continued that theme in reference to Crabtree, the 10th overall pick of the 2009 NFL draft: “We need to decide whether Crabtree wants to be a fake-ass prima donna or he wants to be a tough guy. We need to find that out, and he becomes human when you [expletive] take out that outside ACL.”
  11. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 4, 2012 -> 11:42 PM) The Packers & Eagles are not using the new Nike uniforms. I'm surprised they are allowed to do that. With the way the NFL controls everything regarding jerseys, like coaches outfits and Earl Bennett's shoes, I figured teams would have no choice in the matter.
  12. What's it gonna take for a ref to call an offensive foul on a big Blake Griffin dunk? On that second one last night, he shot a elbow straight into Gasol's face.
  13. STATS LLC‏@STATS_MLB Last home team shut out to open new park - 1991 White Sox in 16-0 loss to Tigers at Comiskey. ChiSox starting SS that day: #OzzieGuillen.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 4, 2012 -> 07:54 PM) Opening night no-hitter? Nopening night? Same manager. Different team. Same anemic offense.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 4, 2012 -> 06:40 PM) "They" are at the whims of Toews. He is the idiot who played games with a concussion. Hopefully he is honest with the team. Same thing that Crosby did. Once he realized how big of a deal it was, he finally started taking it seriously.
  16. And that anthem was almost as bad as the Fray's Monday night.
  17. QUOTE (Baron @ Apr 4, 2012 -> 06:02 PM) Its weird seeing Ozzie in that uniform. It's weird seeing any player in that uniform, what a goofy f***ing hat
  18. QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 4, 2012 -> 05:55 PM) I really want to root against the marlins. The ridiculously awful unis, the ridiculously ugly new ballpark, the stupid dancers escorting the starters out on the field. Ozzie. I just cant find myself rooting against buehrle. He's not pitching today.
  19. They are really trying to appeal towards the local Latino crowd. Players being escorted on the field by Brazilian dancers?
  20. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 4, 2012 -> 01:10 PM) On my way to Arizona so figured I would go back o WEEDS after giving up on it after a few episodes last season. Started up where I left off on the Showtime app on new iPad and it has gotten better. It may have reeled me back in. About to start season 3. Heard it goes a bit downhill from here.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 4, 2012 -> 07:45 AM) Did I mention it is the LAST GAME OF SPRING TRAINING? Daryl Van Schouwen ‏ @CST_soxvan Sox@Houston 1:05 De Aza cf, Lillibridge lf, Dunn 1b, Konerko 1b, Morel 3b, Ramirez ss, Fukudome rf, Flowers c, Beckham 2b; Humber P Finally, spring training is the worst if you aren't attending it.
  22. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 3, 2012 -> 03:16 PM) Leonard declared for the draft. Sullinger will be declaring this afternoon
  23. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 4, 2012 -> 12:21 AM) So my HS buddy from back home threw back-to-back no-hitters last year. Well since then, not only was he named the best pitcher in Indiana, but yesterday he threw a TRULY perfect game. Perfect game with ALL STRIKEOUTS. The only other person I have heard about doing that? Clayton Kershaw. Just sayin'. I would expect that to have happened often in high school baseball, especially when you have areas with large disparities in skill levels between schools.
  24. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Apr 3, 2012 -> 10:56 PM) I drafted Bailey in all 4 of my yahoo teams smh...who do you all think takes the closer job? Yahoo and a few other sites I went to see, to think its gonna be Melancon but Jon Heyman thinks it'll be Aceves. Why in the world would you do that? It was a guarantee he would get injured, even the "experts" were warning about that.
