  1. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 2, 2012 -> 02:51 PM) Don't get me wrong, I thought Martz was a terrible fit from day one and forcing one of the few decent offensive players out the door because you're too inflexible is awful. But Olsen's been somewhat of a bust. Yeah, sure, considering he was a 1st round pick, I can agree that he has been somewhat of a bust. But considering the other pass catchers on the Bears roster, they definitely should have held onto him and made it work. It's not like he was signed away by big money in free agency, they traded him for a low round pick.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 2, 2012 -> 02:44 PM) 45 catches, 540 yards, 5 TD's. Very similar to the kind of numbers he put up in Chicago. Which would have put him 2nd on the Bears in catches (behind Forte, more than any WR), 2nd in yards, and tied for 1st in TDs with his replacement Kellen Davis
  3. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Mar 2, 2012 -> 02:11 PM) Forgive me, but what is a "bounty program"? I assume some reward system for hitting certain players. Not just hitting players, but injuring them and knocking them out of the game I believe.
  4. Adam Schefter ‏ @AdamSchefter NFL security determined between 22 and 27 defensive players on the Saints, as well as at least one asst. coach, maintained a bounty program. Investigation reviewed 18.000 documents totaling more than 50,000 pages. Commissioner Goodell will determine the discipline. NFL determined that former Saints DC Gregg Williams administered the program with knowledge of other defensive coaches. Discipline for the Saints could include fines, suspensions and forfeiture of draft choices. NFL investigation of Saints began in 2010 when allegations were made that Saints targeted QBs such as Brett Favre and Kurt Warner.
  5. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Mar 2, 2012 -> 12:05 PM) The Bears could also use a TE that can catch. Like the one they drafted in the 1st round 5 years ago?
  6. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Mar 2, 2012 -> 11:01 AM) Everything I've read pretty much proclaims him a goner, unless things have changed since the end of the season and I didn't see it. I can't find it now, but I just read a whole piece in the last day or two that said he was guaranteed to stay. I saw this on Rotoworld as well:
  7. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 2, 2012 -> 11:00 AM) I like Wallace, but I think he is a wrong fit for the Bears. Cutler needs a big body to throw to, I see Wallace as a clone of Bennett(albeit, faster), Cutler needs a jackson/colston type, someone like Marshall who will give him the height to throw a sideline pass to. Colston worries me, both for his injury problems and the fact that he has one of the most accurate and insane passers in the NFL throwing to him. I would prefer VJax. Me too, but I highly doubt the Bolts let him leave.
  8. QUOTE (ptatc @ Mar 2, 2012 -> 10:26 AM) PEDs? I have no inside information but it happens. Along with teammate Travis Hafner.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 2, 2012 -> 10:06 AM) paul hoynes ‏ @hoynsie #Indians manager Manny Acta says Justin Masterson and Ubaldo Jimenez will be his No.1 and No.2 starters. Josh Tomlin, Derek Lowe next 2. Overall I'd pick the Sox rotation over the Indians at this point.
  10. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Mar 2, 2012 -> 08:44 AM) Falcons have applied the franchise tag to free agent CB Brent Grimes. Sounds like Cortland Finnegan and Cliff Avril are next. Maybe not. Adam Schefter ‏ @AdamSchefter Titans will not place their franchise tag on cornerback Cortland Finnegan, allowing him to become an unrestricted free agent.
  11. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 28, 2012 -> 08:57 PM) Pretty strong HIMYM last night, IMO. Definitely entertaining. I am getting sick of all the plot changes. It's like they are just throwing s*** at the wall hoping it will stick, just trying to get to the last season. QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 1, 2012 -> 08:42 AM) Finally a funny episode of Modern Family this season. Best of the season. LOL at "monsterating"
  12. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 2, 2012 -> 08:21 AM) Yeah, and if that happens, the Steelers walk away with the 19th pick. I was firmly against giving up the 19th pick and a huge contract for Wallace, but I'm starting to waver a bit on it. I hate to waste the cap room and draft picks with so many other holes to fill, but man do they need a playmaker like him. The other FA options are starting to dwindle down, and I'm not sure if the available draftees in that slot will make a big enough difference immediately.
  13. Adam Schefter ‏ @AdamSchefter 49ers plan to place their franchise tag on safety Dashon Goldson today. Ravens plan to place their franchise tag on running back Ray Rice today.
  14. ESPN ‏ @espn Michigan basketball is no joke. The Wolverines just won at Illinois for the first time since 1995: http://es.pn/AhOopN Retweeted by Kate Upton
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 1, 2012 -> 08:11 PM) Bye CLo, I hope Little did we know that Bruce Weber's move up I-57 would ruin both b-ball programs.
  16. QUOTE (chw42 @ Mar 1, 2012 -> 05:27 PM) UNOFFICIAL b****ES. Enjoy it my young friends. I'll be dreaming of green beer at work.
  17. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 1, 2012 -> 05:57 PM) You are getting a guy with hands of glue who is supposedly a tremendous mentor and would be a great coach for our younger receivers. To be frank, I'd see very little negative in having a guy like Ward, assuming you aren't planning on using him in anything more than a 4th wideout role. Great. Sign him as a WR coach.
  18. Eight of 10 alleged Jerry Sandusky victims say they were abused at Penn State
  19. Cross one guy off SoxObama's wish list. DeSean Jackson franchise tagged by Philly.
  20. Brad Biggs ‏ @BradBiggs #Bears announce they have officially released OT Frank Omiyale and DT Anthony Adams
  21. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 1, 2012 -> 12:55 PM) Bill Simmons and President Barack Obama talk Bulls. I guarantee Obama watched little to none of the Mercer-ElAmin-ERob Bulls of the early 2000s.
  22. QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Feb 29, 2012 -> 10:39 PM) Did anyone notice the set up for the Horizon League tournament? I was checking it tonight to see what Butler's road back to the big dance was and noticed a different bracket than I've ever seen. The #1 and #2 seeds - Valpo and Cleveland St get byes all the way to the semifinals (3rd round). They have seeds 3 thru 10 play opening round games and the four winners play each other Friday night. The winners of those two games advance to the semis against the 1 and 2 seeds. It works out that the top two seeds have to win two games to win the tournament and everyone from three down would have to win four. I've never seen a tournament stacked like that to favor the top teams. The other wrinkle is that Valpo is the host. But if they lose in the semifinals on Saturday, the finals take place at the home of the highest remaining seed on Tuesday. Again, maybe small conferences do things differently, but I've never seen the tournament location move depending on who won. I think that format is great and every smaller conference should do something similar. When your only chance to make the Big Dance is by winning your conference tournament, you should get some kind of advantage if you were the best regular season team.
  23. QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 1, 2012 -> 09:17 AM) Nobody talking about Jeremy Lin's line last night? Ok. Jeremy Lin & Baron Davis combined: 21 Assists, 1 Turnover
