  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 08:34 AM) But a rational outside observer, based on these reports, really ought to conclude that he's guilty as sin. Yeah, probably. But to say he was found guilty to be using a banned substance is wrong. According to MLB, the positive sample had enough circumstance around it that it can't be considered legit. Rules are rules, Bud Selig strikes again.
  2. Jim Souhan ‏ @SouhanStrib Morneau: ``I don’t think there will be a career if it’s something I’m dealing with..I’m obviously not going to continue to mess around... ..with this if it continues to be a problem. There comes a point where you can only torture yourself for so long.'' Bad day for Twins. After listening to Morneau, I think he knows the end is near, and wants to give it one more try.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 08:27 AM) But that does not mean he was found not guilty. Ok, but it also means that he wasn't found guilty.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 08:17 AM) Incorrect. An independent arbitrator found that the quality control standards on the test were insufficient. Therefore, he decided that Braun must be cleared of the allegation.
  5. QUOTE (ptatc @ Feb 23, 2012 -> 10:17 PM) Urine tests are valid in regards to what he tested positive for. Reliability is the reason you have the protocols which must be exactly fiollowed for a given test with mulitiple samples. He can say whatever he wants. He is guilty of taking banned substances. He knows it and the lawyers know it. This is why they attacked the procedure and not the actual tests. Sorry, but an independent arbitrator found him not guilty.
  6. This is for you SoxBadger. Federal authorities are conducting separate investigation involving Jerry Sandusky, Penn State, The Second Mile
  7. Too Big, Too Fast, Too Strong, Too Good. Cheers!!!
  8. QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Feb 23, 2012 -> 09:24 PM) CBJ trade Jeff Carter to LA for Jack Johnson and a 1st rounder Carter & Richards back together again. Just read this stat on TSN: Since the beginning of 07-08, Jack Johnson has the worst plus/minus in the league at -85. Next closest is Brendan Witt at -60.
  9. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Feb 23, 2012 -> 06:10 PM) Lepisto has been in Q's doghouse all season, and for little reason. He's been more than solid in his limited playing time on the ice. Played very well the 2 games after CBJ. Maybe but whenever I see him it seems like he is in the wrong position or misplaying the puck.
  10. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 23, 2012 -> 03:20 PM) Yeah I've got an 8pm flight to denver tomorrow. Once we get in (at 10 something) we have a 2 hour drive to a cabin. I'm REALLY hoping nothing gets delayed. Yeah, with our new flight, we get in at 9:30 PM and have a 2 hour drive as well. Luckily, we will be in warm weather and have no worries about driving conditions. Still no snow here by O'Hare.
  11. QUOTE (daa84 @ Feb 23, 2012 -> 09:01 PM) Lin has more turnovers on the year than rose Since he was inserted in the starting lineup, he is averaging over 6 turnovers a game, which would break every full season record in the book.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 23, 2012 -> 08:27 PM) Either way, if MLB can't follow their own procedures, thy can't suspend the guy. He may be clearly guilty, but it's mlb's job to run the program correctly. PEDs >>> Bud Selig
  13. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Feb 23, 2012 -> 05:02 PM) I certainly enjoy watching him beat people to a pulp, but he stinks at everything else. Definitely but 20 hasn't been much better. The one game he did score a goal, he was pulled for the entire 2nd period and only came back & scored because it was a blowout. Also, as one of the biggest supporters of Frolik since he was acquired, I will now drop any allegiance I have to him. You suck Frolik, what a disappointment.
  14. Apparently the test collector thought FedEx/Kinkos was closed on Saturday night, so he kept the sample in his fridge til Monday. Braun's people argued that this the sample could have been contaimanted or tampered with during this time and won the appeal.
  15. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Feb 23, 2012 -> 04:26 PM) Wait, so you think Lepisto has been playing poorly? You know he's number 20 not 32, right? I never notice 32 playing poorly, because I am always just laughing at him attempting to skate and play hockey.
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Feb 23, 2012 -> 02:24 PM) Welcome to the return of irrelevance. This team is going to suck and steal zero headlines. I'm glad. Most of the headlines they stole the last few years seemed to hurt the team and gave it a negative image everywhere else.
  17. As the Brewers are my favorite non-Sox team to root for and I have a small man-crush on Braun (depsite the Affliction gear), I am happy that he was cleared. Plus, watching MLB make a fool of themselves regarding steroids again & again is pure comedy.
  18. QUOTE (The Critic @ Feb 23, 2012 -> 02:01 PM) Toews hits the post. B- I would have given a higher grade, but so much of the Hawks future depends on Toews not breaking his head anymore.
  19. f***ing A. 8 AM flight to SoCal already cancelled. Luckily, rebooked on a 6:30 PM flight tomorrow night, but there goes the whole day out there.
  20. QUOTE (danman31 @ Feb 23, 2012 -> 02:15 PM) That's not the point. I'm referring to the fact that college players are 1-4 year rentals and right when they're at their best they leave. Obviously there's player movement in pro sports, but for the most part you are able to get compensation for a player in the form of a trade or at the very least open cap space. If you're qualifying for the 2013 'Champions League' in the 2012 season it kind of screws things up in college. That's why they included the option that if you qualify for the following season's Champions League as a senior, you gain an extra year of eligibility to play in the next season.
  21. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 23, 2012 -> 01:58 PM) That's a blessing not even trying to disguise itself. No doubt. Speaking of D, I had been wondering why Lepisto had never gotten a chance earlier with all the injuries. The last week or two has shown me exactly why.
  22. f***, that probably won't help the concussion. Supposedly Montador is concussed as well.
  23. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 23, 2012 -> 11:30 AM) Even the players acknowledge the January 2012 game wasn't just another game. You're ignoring the obvious. That was a statement game both teams wanted. It ended up being pretty much even despite the Bulls being on the road without Deng and a legit NBA back up point guard. Save me your useless statistics half way through a season where the schedule has been incredibly lopsided. The Bulls have played 20 road games, which is the most in the eastern conference. They're a half game behind the "undebatable best team in the league" despite the starting rotation expected to be in place by the playoffs having played a whopping 5 games together. I have no problem with you saying the Heat are the better team and here's why. But to say it's not up for debate is idiotic. Hell, I think the Thunder have pretty good argument for being the best too. They also have played 22 games vs. teams below .500, most in all of basketball, with only 13 games vs. teams at .500 or higher, tied for fewest in the NBA.
  24. Jesse Rogers @ESPNChiHawks Hammer is in. Toews getting closer, per Q
  25. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 23, 2012 -> 10:47 AM) Mark Gonzales @MDGonzales Peavy said he'll be disappointed if he doesn't make at least 30 starts this season. Last time he made 30 starts was 2007
