  1. QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 23, 2012 -> 09:10 AM) I really think he'll be exonerated somehow. I sure as hell hope so.
  2. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Feb 23, 2012 -> 08:22 AM) Packers agreed to terms with TE Jermichael Finley on a two-year, $15 million contract. That's like a million dollars per drop.
  3. 1. I don't think so. 2. Yes 3. A fat mediocre one 4. Jesse Crain 5. Absolutely
  4. THE CHALLENGE! It is impressive to beat Abram in an elimination, but Ty has no chance to win a final challenge. He gassed out easily in Cutthroat, he could barely stand up after beating Abe, no way he makes it through a day long final challenge.
  5. QUOTE (danman31 @ Feb 22, 2012 -> 09:32 PM) I love the concept of the NCAA Cup, but the beautiful structure of the Champions League only really applies to pro sports. Meanwhile, this MSU Minny game is setting up for a patented Gus moment. College football & basketball are practically pro sports in todays age anyway.
  6. This is awesome: Turning the NCAA tournament into the College Basketball Champions League, UEFA-style.
  7. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Feb 22, 2012 -> 03:59 PM) I see your point and others too, but really when you win you're a genius and when you struggle then it's all the stupid decisions that manager made regardless of whether it was Ozzie or someone else. I personally think that the L/R response and taking out a starter, or even a releif pitcher, at the right time can be argued as either letting the guy battle and work his way out of jam or the manager blew the chance and the pitcher just gave up a big homer or something. Again if it works you are smart and if it doesn't then you have no business being a manager on this team (insert team name here). Bottiom line is Ozzie is gone so case closed. But when it came to Jake Peavy last year, it was so obvious to everyone but Ozzie. Once Jake hit 75 pitches, opponents averages skyrockted. People would call it all the time, "Jake is about to get rocked". Lo and behold, Ozzie would keep him in, and Jake would give up runs.
  8. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Feb 21, 2012 -> 01:18 AM) Anyone else follow Brandon McCarthy? Dude is pretty damn funny. Seems like a fun dude to hang out with. Brandon McCarthy @BMcCarthy32 "Well if you didn't want to get farted on, you shouldn't have tried to cuddle," I said to kick off Monday night's fight. He made the cover of ESPN the mag with his model wife.
  9. QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Feb 22, 2012 -> 01:00 PM) An even better signing for the Yankees today, per RotoWorld: Yankees signed INF/OF Burt Reynolds to a minor league contract. Burt Reynolds is a cousin of Robinson Cano.
  10. Jesse Rogers @ESPNChiHawks Not sure if u can call it that but symptoms. Think hes back this weekend RT @ChiTownSports: @ESPNChiHawks Does Toews have a concussion? No one on record. Scuttlebutt and read between some lines RT @Schustee19: @ESPNChiHawks Who said he has the symptoms? It doesn't sound like a Crosby/Pronger level of concussion which is very good. It's something else how vague hockey injuries are with the upper/lower body designations. A player could get decapitated on the ice and Q would just call it a upper body injury.
  11. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Feb 22, 2012 -> 12:59 PM) You're right, but I'd rather look at the overall production of the position. I think Viciedo is more likely to put up a .850 OPS or higher in 450 at-bats if he faces all LHP and sits against tough RHP (based on matchup). I honestly think Fukudome can give us close to a .800 OPS in the remaining RF at-bats, which I'm predicting would be a lot higher than what Viciedo would put up in those same at-bats. Overall, you'd be getting very good production out of RF this way. What exactly makes you think that? His career OPS vs. RHP is .775 & he showed major decline last year?
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 22, 2012 -> 12:44 PM) I thought I saw the other day that Tampa was the most with over $60 million in free space? Salary Cap Space Team Cap Space 1. Tampa Bay $67M 2. Kansas City $62M 3. Cincinnati $60M 4. Washington $49M 4. Denver $49M 6. Jacksonville $45M
  13. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Feb 22, 2012 -> 12:04 PM) Fill in the blank. Greg Walker is in the best shape of his life.
  14. QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 22, 2012 -> 08:16 AM) I like the texting...don't have to call and talk about every little thing...but the facebook nonsense...I can't stand it...why do we have to announce to the world every freaking place we go? Why flatter ourselves that others would even care? The texting is much better once it's a steady relationship. But when it's first starting out, where every action can be mis construed, it would seem like texting could make it that much more difficult. (this coming from a guy who hates talking on the phone)
  15. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Feb 21, 2012 -> 11:28 PM) Is "facebook official" the dumbest thing ever? Yes. I'm so glad I was done dating by the time Facebook and text messaging became so popular. Both just seem to be able to complicate it so much more.
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Feb 22, 2012 -> 12:12 AM) I love the way Sox fans have spun this Fielder acquisition. Like Detroit is going to regret it. Detroit is going to win this division as easily as it did last year IMO. If they don't win a WS in the next 2-3 years, they will regret it towards the end of his 9-year contract when he is fat, slow, & bad. No one has said it's a bad move for 2012/2013/2014, it's the full length of the contract that is questionable.
  17. I know that it is 100% true, but do we really need to chant "DE-TROIT SUCKS" the entire game? From time to time is fun, but anytime they started a chant going it was that instead of Let's Go Hawks.
  18. I have trips to SoCal & Europe planned in the next month, so I'd hate to give up a food or booze that ruin my trip experience. I'm trying to think of a non-food thing I can give up, but no luck so far. Maybe I'll just give up talking to my wife.
  19. No mention of Martell Webster's last second slam dunk when down three points?
  20. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 21, 2012 -> 12:48 PM) What are the odds that (1) a difference maker falls to #19, (2) that said difference maker actually pans out (see also, Chicago Bears draft history, and (3) that even if they did pan out, you're not waiting 2-3 seasons for it to happen (i.e., cutting into prime Cutler/defense years). Yeah, you can say he was a 3rd round find, but that's a crapshoot and the bears haven't had much luck drafting random WR's throughout the draft. You also have to think too that the Bears are getting two 1st round "picks" in Williams and Carimi coming back. This makes a lot of sense, I just don't like that not only would he cost a 1st round pick, but you will also have to pay him big-big money, probably top 3 WRs salary in the whole league.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 21, 2012 -> 12:16 PM) The Trib breaks down the Bears cap situation http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...1062,full.story Who the heck is Trevor Vittatoe and why does he only count for $1,667 towards the cap?? Lol, that's such a insignificant number.
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 21, 2012 -> 11:02 AM) Sounds like Boston is also getting the infamous player to be named later. Sounds like they are both getting a PTBNL. WTF?
  23. Paul Sullivan @PWSullivan Cubs send Chris Carpenter to Red Sox for compensation, according to Cubs source.
