  1. QUOTE (Tex @ Feb 10, 2012 -> 09:55 AM) Did you happen to look at the people who served on the charity's board? So why is it that people prefer to talk about the head football coach's involvement more so than eye witnesses? How much ink has been spilled discussing an eye witness who leaves without calling the police, contacts his dad for advice, before contacting the head football coach? Whose stories contradict each other over what he saw and what he eventually reported. Now check out how much ink talks about Paterno. How much ink has been used to discuss Mrs. Sandusky who was in the house and heard signs of abuse, and did nothing. But people would rather argue Paterno's involvement. Seems lopsided to me. Has anybody on TV talked about how great of a person Mrs. Sandusky is? Did anyone paint a halo over a painting of PSU's ex-president? If Mike McQueary were to die tomorrow, would the national media write columns saying, "He made one colossal mistake, but don't judge him just on that"?
  2. QUOTE (klaus kinski @ Feb 10, 2012 -> 07:56 AM) Another signing you'd expect from Kansas City. No wonder interest is at lows I have never experienced. Really? You know you have an agenda when you criticize a minor league deal.
  3. Losing at home to Tennessee St.? Don't worry Murray State, it happens to the best of 'em. BRUUUUUUUUCE!!!!!
  4. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Feb 9, 2012 -> 10:30 PM) Is there a way to figure out how many bunt singles Babe Ruth had in his career? I had a guy ask me, and I have no idea how I'd find that. According to Baseball Reference, Ruth had 113 sacrifice hits. In 1930, he led the league with 49 homers, a 1.225 OPS, and was 5th with 21 sacrifices.
  5. Sox add another college football player to the mix, sign Mitch Mustain to a minor league deal
  6. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Feb 9, 2012 -> 07:19 PM) Your dad must either be about 33 or 97. I laughed.
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Feb 10, 2012 -> 02:25 AM) Exactly. It's funny the way Sox fans think the Tigers will regret these signings someday. Though Fielder should have picked a home run haven not a place hard to hit bombs like Detroit. Dunn. Rios. Peavy.
  8. The Raiders gave Routt $20 millon guaranteed on February 24, 2011. Now he gone.
  9. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Feb 9, 2012 -> 04:34 PM) I'm a sucker for Simmons and his basketball articles, I'm a dumba$$ that way... As am I. I was more referring to the other stuff on that site. I was expecting more.
  10. QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 9, 2012 -> 02:58 PM) Me neither! It's the girlfriend's favorite restaurant...she is paying
  11. QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 9, 2012 -> 02:33 PM) Has anyone eaten at Alinea? I'm going in a month and I can't wait...most of the reviewers on Yelp wrote that it is the best meal they've ever had. I had friends that went and they said it was outstanding, it's like a whole experience. Personally, I could never spend that much money on a single meal, but to each their own.
  12. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Feb 9, 2012 -> 01:25 PM) Maybe the bullpen rankings are iffy too. Bullpen rankings are always iffy unless you have Mo Rivera at the back end. So much s*** can change with relievers from year to year. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Feb 9, 2012 -> 01:32 PM) When was this list compiled? He has Frasor as part of the Sox bullpen. January 26, just found it today.
  13. Take it FWIW, but according to this guy on ESPN the Sox have the worst C, 3b, CF, RF, & DH in the division. #5 starter (Sale) is the only position that the Sox are best.
  14. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 9, 2012 -> 12:20 PM) This is one instance where I would look at his amount of yards and ask you "have you seen him play?" Im not a big fan of the eye test, but i have never wanted a WR so far away from this team as I have wanted Knox. Im not going to argue with people who think he is a fine 3rd option. To me he is a microcosm of what has been wrong with Bears WRs in the past......well, forever. Small, questionable hands, horrible routerunner, cannot block, but he is fast so people think he is worth something. I will pass. Well said. The only Bears receiver I would care to keep would be Bennett. He seems like a solid 3rd down receiver, and the connection with Jay is a major plus.
  15. How about Kyle Stanley? Choking away the huge lead at Torrey Pines, then coming back the next week & winning in Phoenix after trailing by a similar deficit. That could have been a career-ruining loss, and instead he just got his 1st career victory 7 days alter.
  16. QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 9, 2012 -> 09:31 AM) Good luck! I'm sure he'll do wonderfully. We actually tried to have it done 2-3 weeks ago. A few hours after I dropped him off, they called that he had thrown up and they didn't want to risk putting him under just in case he was sick so I picked him up. It was probably him getting nervous as he has major separation anxiety, but now I think he's just a wise old man who knew how to get out of it, lol.
  17. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Feb 8, 2012 -> 10:20 PM) Open letter from Kenny Powers to Tim Tebow... http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/755247...etter-tim-tebow Wow. Grantland actually had an entertaining article. That doesn't happen very often.
  18. QUOTE (oldsox @ Feb 9, 2012 -> 09:26 AM) Baloney! No one else ever paid that much for that long to a DH, who was/is overweight, slow, can't play defense. Not to mention the #1 draft choice that we surrendered. When the deal with Dunn was made, there was much more that could go wrong than could go right, and it happened. Defending Kenny on this move is ridiculous. Ortiz got a 4 yr, $52 mil extension, close enough
  19. Pooch is getting his teeth cleaned today. (Yes I am aware that the merits of this have been discussed). First time he's ever had it done in 10+ years. A bit nerve wracking since they put him under to do it, so it's similar to any kind of operation.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 9, 2012 -> 07:43 AM) The Zeller family has too many kids. So do the Plumlees
  21. Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter Jeremy Lin is 1st player since LeBron James in 2003 with 20+ points and 8+ assists in first two NBA starts. He's the Knicks' Victor Cruz.
  22. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 9, 2012 -> 07:46 AM) I've bumped/linked to the Rios claim thread several times here, almost everyone was excited about that deal when it happened I plead the 5th....
  23. TJ killed it on the challenge again. He was cracking me up, everytime someone would appear out of the water, he would yell the correct answer in a loud, condescending voice, "The correct answer was BASEBALL!" Leroy & Naomi had no chance in the Dome, but I think they may have been better off having her just climb on his back and he could pull them both. It would still be hard as hell, but I'd rather risk it all on him instead of her.
  24. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 8, 2012 -> 06:59 PM) Jeremy Lin: great passer, good feel for the game, can't drive left, no jump shot. Sleeps on the couch of his brother's one bedroom NYC apartment
  25. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 8, 2012 -> 04:40 PM) But frankly, I'm not sure we'd want him. I agree. It has as much to do with his inconsistency & the presence of DeAza/Viciedo, as it did with the team's budget.
