  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 6, 2012 -> 07:53 AM) danconnollysun Dan Connolly #Orioles & #Rockies nearing agreement 2 swap RHP Jeremy Guthrie for 2 players, likely RHPs Jason Hammel and Matt Lindstrom, accdg to sces Interesting deal for the Rockies. Since he has been on the Orioles, I feel like Guthrie has been a bit underrated. Pitching for the worst team in the AL East, 3 of the last 5 seasons he has had an ERA of under 4, and was at 4.33 last year.

  3. QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 6, 2012 -> 01:41 PM) What kind of pill is it? Can you crush it up and put the powder in the food? It's just a small round tablet. I'm thinking that will be the next attempt, crush it up then mix it with peanut butter or something.
  4. Anybody have any tricks on how to get a dog to swallow a pill? We have tried putting it in food like cheese, but he just eats the food and spits out the pill.
  5. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 6, 2012 -> 12:27 PM) PENN ST ________ NEB ________ NW Fixed. Give Penn St. more credit than that, not only have they made the NCAA tourney (Northwestern), but they also have won a couple games (Nebraska)
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 6, 2012 -> 10:57 AM) Exactly how I see it. They are not in the top tier. Top involves guys like UNC, Duke, Kentucky etc. I concur. Even if they had that NC that's forever alluded them, I still don't think they belong in the discussion with those teams.
  7. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Feb 6, 2012 -> 10:55 AM) I don't think it was meant to be public. It says she said it to a friend and it was overheard. It's not like she went out on twitter and wrote that Oops, I misread it that she yelled it at the Giants fans who taunted her.
  8. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Feb 6, 2012 -> 08:56 AM) Tom Brady wife blames his teammates.. http://www.tmz.com/2012/02/06/gisele-tom-b...ts-lose-giants/ She does have a point, as that Welker drop probably cost them the game. That being said, she probably shouldn't say that in public, especially considering how much of a celebrity she is too.
  9. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 6, 2012 -> 09:11 AM) Really? That was the Coca-Cola Polar bears, they have been around for a long time I recognized them, I just didn't understand what was going on in the ads? What were they doing?
  10. Pretty good piece on Yahoo following Brady in the locker room after the game: Tom Brady in postgame daze of disappointment after another Super Bowl loss to the Giants
  11. M & Ms commercial was awesome. I still have no idea what those polar bears were about? My favorite commercial was the Sasha Baron Cohen movie preview just before the game, looks hilarious.
  12. The government has really gotten their money's worth on all these big-name steroid prosecutions.
  13. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 6, 2012 -> 03:56 AM) I'm not asking this to be an ass, but what kind of pressure is their at Illinois that there isn't at another school? It's not like Illinois is some national powerhouse. They are a middle of the road/stepping stone type program that occassionally succeeds and makes the tournament but doesn't do it consistently. I understand that Illini fans want and expect more, but I don't really think there is pressure of the Illinois job. First, when he mentioned the pressure of the job, I think he was comparing it to Bruce's previous job. I think it's safe to say that there is more pressure to succeed in Champaign than there is in Carbondale. Second, I know some Illinois fans are delusional and expect Kansas/Kentucky like results every year, which is ridiculous. But giving the team's success since the Lou Henson era, I think it's right to expect the team to not be on the bubble or worse every single year. Since 1981, they have made the tourney 75% of the time, with 17 top-5 seeds in the tourney.
  14. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Feb 5, 2012 -> 09:46 PM) If you're on defense near the end there, and the penalty is only 5 yards with no time coming back on the clock, why not put your entire roster out on the field? I know the game cannot end like that, but atleast down to 1 second. LOL, we had the exact saem discussion. The fact that the five seconds don't get put back on the clock is ridiculous. It wasn't the best played game, but it was entertaining. They spent the whole week talking about Gronk's ankle, but it may have been deservedly so. He was not 100% out there and that may have been the difference.
  15. I'm amused by the Izzone's "Not Like Daddy" chant to Hardaway Jr.
  16. Belichick is cold blooded. Patriots cut WR Tiquan Underwood and sign DE Alex Silvestro from the practice squad the day before the Super Bowl.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 4, 2012 -> 08:42 PM) Giants accidentally put up website celebrating winning the super bowl. It seems like that happens a lot. Is the intranet really that hard to figure out?
  18. Tom Crean's 1st road Big Ten win outside of Pennsylvania
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 4, 2012 -> 07:45 PM) All he ever did was catch touchdowns though... Anyway, Andre Reed belongs in there also. The NFL just never has enough slots. Everyone on that list belongs in. The problem may be that people can't decide between Reed & Carter and they steal each other's votes.
  20. College basketball Saturdays are just as awesome as college football Saturdays. Just so much action everywhere
  21. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 4, 2012 -> 07:18 PM) Because Curtis Martin had to? Curtis Martin is 4th all-time in rushing yards. That surprised me.
