  1. QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 11:46 AM) If you're laughing at the foul on Leonard, Brandon Paul got him too. He made just as dumb of a swipe at the ball and got a good piece of arm and could have just as easily been called for the foul. Wow, I didn't even see that, that makes it worse. As soon as they crossed the 3-point line, stand still with your hands straight up. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 11:59 AM) I cant imagine Leonard saying in college, even if he does nothing the guy still likely goes in the top 15. Yeah, and I just read a story about his personal life. His dad died at a young age, his mom is unable to work due to injury, and his brother is serving in Afghanistan. I would think his family could use the NBA money soon.
  2. The shootouts are exciting but it annoys me that a whole season can come down to something as random as the shootout. I agree that they need to change the point structure. 3 for a win, 2 for an OT Win, & 1 for an OT loss would make more sense.
  3. If there's one good thing about Wisconsin, it's Spotted Cow. Yum.
  4. This is why the internet is awesome
  5. Just started working on TurboTax last week, should get it filed in the next week or two. I always overpay, probably due back around 7 or 8 grand for my refund this year. People say I'm giving the government an "interest-free" loan, but I don't care. If I had gotten that money bi-weekly during the year, I would have spent it all, not invested it. I like suddenly getting a large bonus check in February to buy something nice with and build up some more savings. Bought a hot tub last year, probably buying a vacay to Europe with this money.
  6. LOL @ Meyers Leonard, that's inexcusable. I'm starting to get excited to see who will coach Illini basketball next season. Hopefully the new coach can convince Leonard to stay one more year.

Impressive
  8. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 27, 2012 -> 02:29 PM) Isn't Stevie Johnson known for drops? drops & unsportsmanlike conduct penalties
  9. Since we are just tossing rumors out there: vaughn mcclure @vxmcclure23 Three different people at Senior Bowl mentioned Stevie Johnson and the Bears in same sentence. Hes been working on new deal with Bills Johnson is represented by same agent (C.J. LaBoy) as Bears receiver Earl Bennett, who got a sweet four-year, $18 mil contract.
  10. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 27, 2012 -> 12:45 PM) What does a "fifth" OF do? Anyway, that suits those two bums just fine. With Jim Thome on the roster, do the Phillies even have roster space for a "fifth" OF?
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 27, 2012 -> 12:28 PM) I don't see how the 49's could trade up, and still trading for Manning. Something would have to go to Indy. Yup. The only way that could happen is if the Colts cut Manning on March 8 when he is due his huge bonus. In a trade, you are gonna have to give the Colts several 1st round picks.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 27, 2012 -> 11:50 AM) Somewhere Ozzie is sad he didn't think of this first. CST_soxvan Daryl Van Schouwen Pierre reportedly gets minor-league deal with Phillies; will compete with Scott Podsednik for fifth outfielder's spot. greg is now a Phillies fan
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 27, 2012 -> 11:07 AM) Nope, another fake feed. And not even funny honestly. The fake Hawk and Kenny are way better. Yeah, Robin's isn't the best. I don't follow Kenny, but the Hawk feed cracks my s*** up all the time.
  14. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 27, 2012 -> 10:50 AM) That's not real... right? Not at all.
  15. Robin Ventura @RobinVentura23 Just finished my strategy session with Kenny. Here's the jist of what he told me: Whatever @OzzieGuillen did, do the opposite. #WhiteSox
  16. PK14 of course. Even if he has a 2003-type schedule, he has been so consistent, I think people will let it slide.
  17. Any idea what time the final will be in the US?
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 24, 2012 -> 09:46 AM) I think I'm done with Alcatraz. The premise of the show was great, but honestly, I hate the format of a new bad guy ever week. I was expecting a much "smarter" show than this. Just watched Monday's episode & I concur. I might give it a few more shows to see if something changes, but right now it's like a Law & Order:Alcatraz show, but not as good as an SVU episode. I think they are trying to stretch it out to last a few seasons.
  19. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 26, 2012 -> 10:58 PM) My friend told me that she met Joe Paterno. According to her, she lived near Paterno but only met him once and he appeared drunk at the time. Their pet gerbil was apparently attacked viciously by him on his property. The husband says he came out of his house searching for the rodent when he heard a pop and ran towards it. He then saw the frightened animal running towards him with Paterno in tow with a BB gun, at which point Joe Paterno fired another pellet into the husband's general vicinity. He promptly hurried the gerbil to the veterinarian. My neighbor then confronted St. Joe Pa to question whether or not he had shot the animal. He responded "yes" and immediately bit the head off of a canary, presented a sinister smile, and delivered a pre-teen boy to the lair of Jerry Sandusky. I can't vouch for any of this, though. It's just what she said happened. But I'll tell you one thing. I fully believe it. Then JoePa showed up at a town meeting and offered 2 free PSU football tickets to whoever could guess how many boys he had delivered to Sandusky's lair. However, everyone guessed fewer than the actual amount, so JoePa reneged and didn't give any tickets away.
  20. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jan 26, 2012 -> 09:37 PM) When he was first acquired there were people going crazy about how useless of a prospect he was. Up until last year, he was shredded constantly. Sorry I misspoke my question. After the last season, no one will call Lilli the most talented player on the field. But fans seem to like him a lot based on his effort and hustle, as long as the manager puts him in the right situations.
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jan 26, 2012 -> 09:37 PM) I have given the players off the 05 team a lot of credit. People accuse me all the time of blindly praising the 05 guys. Then if the 05 players were that good, why should Ozzie get credit for being the best manager in Sox history for winning the WS? You can't blame last season all on the players, then give Ozzie all the credit for 2005.
  22. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 26, 2012 -> 09:15 PM) When a large fraction wanted Milledge kept over him? That was before Lilli had a full stint in the majors. Everyone knows his talent is limited now but yet he seems to be pretty popular & liked.
  23. Ron Swanson in the bowling alley. Enough said.
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 26, 2012 -> 01:39 PM) jaysonst Jayson Stark Jim Leyland leaves no doubt about Tigers' plans. "Miguel Cabrera is going to play third base." Spoke w Cabrera & "he's 100 pct onboard." Doug Fister just asked to be traded
  25. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jan 26, 2012 -> 07:26 PM) I will go with DeAza because from what I can tell he hustles his ass off and embodies the typical "overachiever" and this board doesn't like the guys who are not great players, but get the most out of their ability thru hustle IMO. What? When has this board said anything bad about Brent Lillibridge???
