  1. The mural of JoePa now has a halo over his head? That's gross.
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jan 24, 2012 -> 01:34 AM) I'm disliked because I back Ozzie big time and back some of the players who are (were) hated. Like Jenks, Jermaine, Wise, Pods, Juan Pierre, CQ, etc. And I don't like Kenny and blast Rios and Dunn a lot. I also praise Rongey and Hawk and Cowley and am disliked for that as well. You need to realize there is a difference between hating a player and admitting it's time to move on. It's a business and your roster size & payroll are finite, so you can't just keep the same players around forever. Nobody hates CQ, they just realized trading him is what's best for the team right now. And who here hasn't blasted Rios & Dunn a lot?
  3. QUOTE (G&T @ Jan 24, 2012 -> 06:23 AM) Jay Paterno tells us on the Today show that the Sandusky scandal did not weigh on him at all because Joe was so strong. That's nice. That's understandable. Why would he worry about the child rape he was told about it when he has football games to win? We are Penn State!
  4. QUOTE (MAX @ Jan 24, 2012 -> 02:53 AM) Those two dolts love to point their finger at anyone they can. For once, they are picking the right battle and going after someone who 100% deserves it
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 23, 2012 -> 07:48 PM) I don't want to put this is the Paterno death thread for some reason, but I really wanted to share it. Link. expect profanity. Wow, that's intense. 100% true though.
  6. Giants special teamers say they targeted Kyle Williams because of his history of concussions. It's interesting that they said it publicly, but he's the punt returner, how could you not consistently target him?
  7. Nick Friedell@ESPNChiBulls Derrick just told me he's going to play.
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jan 23, 2012 -> 05:24 PM) I would have had to believe him. He's the owner of the team and has really done nothing to irritate me as a fan, except get snowed by Kenny. He is the only owner to bring titles to Chicago in my lifetime except the one title by the Bears. Kenny IMO brownnosed better than Ozzie and won that war. But I trust the chairman not to flat out lie. Rocky Wirtz? Every Chicago team other than the Cubs has won a title in the last 26 years.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 23, 2012 -> 02:14 PM) And at worst they will be the #3 seed. No one in their division is going to catch them. I think the NBA has a rule where the worst division winner is only guaranteed the #4 seed. If there is a team in 2nd place with a better record, they get the #3 (or #2)
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 23, 2012 -> 04:07 PM) Has he eaten anything? Well his trip to Maui was a honeymoon, so hopefully now that he is married, he will get some good home cooked meals
  11. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 23, 2012 -> 03:15 PM) ? Ray Emery = Blackhawks goalie
  12. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 23, 2012 -> 01:56 PM) Cruz cause of 142 yds.. Gostkowski because he had 11 pts, which is almost half the points that NE scored.. A kicker as MVP?
  13. Boers & Bernstein have absolutely gone all in on this issue. It's the main topic they have been discussing for months, and are still at it today, just tearing into JoePa.
  14. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 23, 2012 -> 12:34 PM) It might be the Opening night on Thursday.. I think the Super Bowl champion gets that game
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 23, 2012 -> 12:25 PM) NHLBlackhawks Chicago Blackhawks Jonathan Toews will miss tomorrow's game vs. Nashville. #Blackhawks Sounds like he will skip the All-Star game this weekend, which could give him like a whole week to recover.
  16. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 23, 2012 -> 12:08 PM) Littlehurt, Where has anyone argued differently? J4l is trying to argue that in the 90s Super Bowls werent won by teams with HOF QB's. No one is arguing there is more offensive stats in 2000 beyond. You had said the 90s were dominated by offense.
  17. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 23, 2012 -> 11:54 AM) j4l, What? The 90s were dominated by offense. I dont even know what you are arguing. The Cowboys had Aikman, Irvin and Smith, the 49ers had Young, Taylor and Rice. Broncos had Elway, Smith and Sharpe. As for athletes, Ill take Deion and many of the other 90's athletes. This isnt a comparison to 1970, there were plenty of amazing athletes in the 90s, and thats why the all time leading rusher, all time leading receiver and all time leading passer played in the 90s. In 2011, 7 teams scored 400+ points & 3 scored 500+. In 1991, 2 teams scored 400. In 92, 2 teams hit 400. In 93, only one team passed the 400 mark.
  18. QUOTE (HeGone33 @ Jan 23, 2012 -> 11:15 AM) I had the same thought, but I know that watching the game again his receivers did nothing to get open and help him. With that pass rush you have to make quick decisions.... Another thing I think is funny is all these experts pointing out again that offense and an elite quarterback are musts to go to the superbowl....in reality, both teams that lost could have easiliy won and then that arguement would be out the door.... I get your point, but close doesn't count. The fact is this will be the 9th straight Super Bowl won by a team with an "elite" QB. There is a reason why Ray Lewis has only been to one Super Bowl (although Flacco did outplay Brady yesterday.
  19. QUOTE (HeGone33 @ Jan 23, 2012 -> 10:52 AM) I'm trying to be as positive as I can, but man I feel like I just got punched in the face by a dude that stole my wife from me....... I agree with Obama, as long as NY was getting the ball on their side of the field in the 2nd half they weren't doing a damn thing.... Reality is the offense had many opportunities after that and couldn't get the job done.. Alex Smith looked like Tebow out there late in the game. A few times he was on the move and he would throw wounded ducks straight into the ground. Such a stark contrast from the 4th quarter of the Saints game.
  20. This is the 9th straight Super Bowl that either New England, Pittsburgh, or Indy will represent the AFC. The NFC had 10 different teams the last 10 seasons, until Kyle Williams fumbled away that streak.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 23, 2012 -> 08:48 AM) Reading about the tweets towards Kyle Williams kudos to Patrick Willis, f*** off to a bunch of others. There is the one problem with Twitter. It gives the ignorant a seemingly anonymous outlet to talk s***.
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 23, 2012 -> 07:34 AM) FWIW, this is the guy who an hour before the deadline said the Darvish deal was NOT getting done. Yeah, i have yet to see reports of a Fielder signing anywhere else. Heyman just tweeted that there appears to be a final field of 4 teams in the running
