  1. The Saints lost that game on October 30. They lost to 2-14 St. Louis (who plays in a dome). Win that game, they have home field, no way San Fran does that in NOLA. Props to the 49ers & Alex Smith. He's still no Aaron Rodgers, but he won a playoff game on his shoulders, which is what a #1 pick should do.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 14, 2012 -> 07:37 PM) Only if Greg Williams resigns, I have no idea why you'd even consider firing him. I agree. That had more to do with lack of talent on D than coaching. They don't seem to have any young playmakers on D (hello Martez?) and Harper & co. seem to be getting old in a hurry.
  3. Vernon Davis Jimmy Graham Rob Gronkowski Aaron Hernandez The stars of today's games, yet Mike Martz has no use for a TE in his offense. Genius.
  4. Surprise, surprise, DiPietro to have hernia surgery, probably out for the season. He has played 47 games the last 4 seasons. He still has nine years, about $40.5 million left on his contract. Now that might be the worst contract ever in pro sports.
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 14, 2012 -> 07:12 PM) I wouldn't call this one a classic, but it's a career definer for Alex Smith and Vernon davis. Like 4 lead changes in the last 3 minutes. Yes, instant classic. Especially cause Alex Smith got the last laugh, not Drew Brees. Anyone see Steve?
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 14, 2012 -> 05:05 PM) -4 now. Yup, although that wasn't an awful pick. 3rd & 8, it was kind of like a punt.
  7. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 06:35 PM) Anyone else going to check out Alcatraz Monday? They have shown a preview during every commerical break of the football game, but it worked, I'll at least set it on the DVR now.
  8. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 14, 2012 -> 04:56 PM) Multiple time century club member here. None in the last 7 years lol Same here. Been about 9 years for me.
  9. That TD throw should be illegal. There is like no way to stop that throw. Saints are -3 in the turnover battle and only down 3 points, can't complain about that.
  10. Jimmy Graham is back, which is huge for the Saints. I don't know if Pierre Thomas will play though, as Smokey said "You got knocked the f*** out!"
  11. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jan 14, 2012 -> 02:59 PM) You don't have to. They're completely loaded. As long as they stay healthy there are only a dozen or so teams that can stay on the court with them. Gus Johnson after Shurna makes a 30 footer to go into half: "Shurna....OHHHH.....SHURNA from the HASH!" Love it. I heart Gus Johnson. It's early, but I think this a must-win for Northwestern to keep alive any tourney aspirations they might have.
  12. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 14, 2012 -> 11:18 AM) I can't wait for this game. I just bought two Mickeys, some hot sauce, and a big f***ing bag of cheese popcorn. I actually like the Niners. But Obama's made me hate them for now. Go Saints! LOL, I'm with you on that. I've disliked the Saints since their Super Bowl run, but after all the s*** talking on here, I think I want the 49ers to get smoked.
  13. Sucks they lost in OT, but that was huge to steal a point in the last minute. Should be fun tomorrow night with Niemi in town.
  14. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 14, 2012 -> 02:01 PM) I guess the Wisconsin loss to Iowa isnt so terrible now. In Madison? It's still terrible.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 14, 2012 -> 11:25 AM) If I give up and cheer for Brees, will that be enough to convince Purdue to call about an interview? Only if you stop rooting for IU basketball
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 14, 2012 -> 11:21 AM) That alone seems like it wouldn't be enough to motivate people to give up a top flight pitcher. Alwasy wonder with these deals what the stuff behind the scenes might be. Maybe they think Pineda's arm is gonna fall off in the next year or two, so they traded him before he got hurt?
  17. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 08:01 PM) Holy s*** the Yankees strike! Pineda AND Kuroda on one night. You gotta figure the Red Sox HAVE to get a SP now. Floyd maybe? They already signed Carlos Silva, Aaron Cook, & Vincente Padilla. They will be fine.
  18. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 10:09 PM) Not kidding. And in a few weeks there are gonna be 40-50 million reasons why. The only places I have heard of him are Soxtalk & the occasional Twitter reference. I follow baseball like crazy and I don't hear about him that often. How will the average fan get that excited about signing him?
  19. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 09:45 PM) Signing Cespedes, the hottest free agent OF available, complete with the international hype machine surrounding him would certainly extend attendance interest beyond local Cubans. Are you kidding? The hottest free agent OF available? I would bet 95% of Sox fans have no idea who he is.
  20. Challenge of the Exes preview was kind of cheesy MTV s***, but man this season is gonna be legit.
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 04:24 PM) After reading Rogers' article, it seems like the Chicago media is sick of the Sox like many of the fans. My guess is most people believe Kenny has jumped the shark and like me, think the wrong guy won the war between KW and Ozzie. Sox are going to have to prove a lot on the field and in acquiring good players in the next 2-3 years. I would think only the true die-hard fans would buy tickets to see the Dunn/Rios White Sox. Greg, I get the Chicago Tribune delivered to my home every single day and read nearly the entire Sports section front-to-back. EXCEPT for the Phil Rogers columns, because they are based on very little baseball knowledge and would diminish my baseball IQ. It may be tough for you to find White Sox news in Lawrence, but Phil Rogers is the last person you want to read. Sincerely, LittleHurt05
  22. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 08:24 PM) Gotta be tough shifting from dodgers stadium and the NL west to Yankee stadium and the al east. Really good chance to see how good he really is. His home/road splits were actually pretty even: Home - 20-23, 3.43 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, .249 BAA Away - 21-25, 3.48 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, .249 BAA His ERAs against ARI/COL/SD/SF were 4.03/5.52/3.67/3.65 respectively. The numbers show he performed better when not facing the NL West, so should be interesting.
  23. 1. Holy s*** 2. Yankees went from AL East contenders to WS favorites (with Kuroda signing) 3. King Felix is going nowhere 4. Holy s***
