  1. QUOTE (flavum @ Jan 4, 2012 -> 04:43 PM) Big Z is about to be Ozzie Guillen's problem. LOL, not a huge surprise. They are already spending like gang-busters, so what's one season of Z at a high cost(assuming the Cubs don't pay that much.) Plus, they want to attract as much attention as possible to their team, Z excels at that. He has to waive his no -trade clause, so get ready for the "told you players like to play for Ozzie" crowd to step up.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 4, 2012 -> 05:03 PM) And the Bears should have the biggest need of all of them. Really. I know how badly the Bears need a #1, but not the biggest fan of him. Seems to be close to TO/Moss diva level, without as much talent. Takes plays/games off too. Still would be a gigantic upgrade though.
  3. QUOTE (flavum @ Jan 4, 2012 -> 01:43 PM) No. http://bis.npb.or.jp/eng/2011/stats/idb1_g.html Whoa, that's bad!
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 4, 2012 -> 01:25 PM) I can't believe he is still hanging on Kevin_Goldstein Kevin Goldstein Also to the Dodgers is former White Sox 3B prospect Josh Fields. Thought he was in Japan last year. Must have done OK out there.
  5. Any fans of Summer Heights High here? Chris Lilley has a new show on HBO Sunday nights, "Angry Boys" where he plays multiple characters of various genders, races again. The first two episodes are on demand, it's entertaining, not as good as Summer Heights so far though.
  6. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 12:49 PM) Um, hell yeah! http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Challen...tle_of_the_Exes
  7. Wayne/Welker - Not going anywhere (unless Peyton is traded) VJax/DJax/Stevie - head cases, no thanks Bowe/Colston - I like them although Colston appears to be injury-prone BLloyd - Has really improved since his last stint with the Bears Meachem/Manningham - Better than anyone else the Bears have, but not #1's
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 4, 2012 -> 11:30 AM) Can't argue with a point per game. Unfortunately, I wrote that wrong. That's 12 goals, 21 points (not assists).
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 4, 2012 -> 11:23 AM) I should be... Shaw is the guy they just signed yesterday right? Yeah, 5th round pick in 2011, had been playing in Rockford, so I think the signing was to make him eligible for the big club. 12 G, 21 A, & 80 PIM in 33 games.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 4, 2012 -> 10:51 AM) adamjahns Adam Jahns #Blackhawks recall Dylan Olsen, place Kruger and Montador on IR and add Andrew Shaw to active roster. Beat me to it by a minute. Shouldn't you be working??? Shaw is practicing on a line with Toews & Sharp.
  11. Kruger & Montador to IR. Andrew Shaw (C, 5th rd 2011) & Dylan Olsen (D, 1st rd 2009) called up. Carcillo suspended indefinitely until his hearing
  12. Hawks are back in Philly tomorrow night. This is what happened last time they were there if you don't remember.
  13. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 4, 2012 -> 08:58 AM) If it was simply a case of telling him to leave his kid at home I think he would still be employed by the Colts. Seems like they are a package deal. The older one is 69 years old, so it's not like he has much time left on the clock
  14. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Jan 4, 2012 -> 09:04 AM) Murray State has a legit shot at a perfect season. I wonder where that would leave them as a seed. Considering that there's only one team in their conference in the RPI Top 200, I think a #5 seed is about as high as they can go, depending on who they get in the BracketBusters.
  15. 1st time in about 9 years I am not attending the Illini game in Evanston. I always enjoy the game, but I've lost all faith in Weber and the program right now, so would rather not invest all the time & money in it for now. They will probably pull off an upset or two this year, but I don't think any game is a guaranteed win, even home vs. Nebraska.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 4, 2012 -> 07:55 AM) That's all his twitter is for. Trolling. He literally does nothing else with it. During football season, it's nothing but Steelers >>>>> Bears, just to incite Chicagoans.
  17. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 11:39 PM) Logan Morrison @LoMoMarlins Following I really hope Ozzies on-field instructions r easier 2 understand than his tweets. I literally have no idea what this dude is talking about.. I have a feeling @LoMoMarlins will be a solid follow during the season just for his Ozzie comments.
  18. Any doubt that Rodney becomes an outstanding reliever in Tampa? Everyone else seem to when they get there, even Farnsworth.
  19. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 4, 2012 -> 07:32 AM) Dez Clark was on the score yesterday and he really gave bigtime props to Cutler and his ability to play and understand the game. He all but said that a different OC was necessary because Martz didnt try and use Cutlers ability to make in-game decisions by himself and Cutler needs that to be effective. Martz didn't even let Cutler really audible. The OC should be making his game-plan adapt to his franchise QB, not the other way around.
  20. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 06:45 PM) Soxtalk at it again. Treating one of our very own like a cheap prostitute. 2005, anyone? Go, JD. I'll always be thankful for you ending our 95-year title drought. I surveyed 100 people in Kansas City, & 95 of them thought JD was a great guy and should still be on the White Sox.
  21. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 04:17 PM) anyone listening this? The press conference? I listened. Mostly your typical BS you would expect. Good to hear that money wasn't a factor in firing Angelo and won't affect the future hire. I was nnoyed that they wouldn't delve into what Angelo did wrong "out of respect" for him. All they kept saying was that they need to close the talent gap between them & the rest of the division, which is obviously true. I would have liked to hear their exact criticism of Angelo, also how much the Cutler injury played a part in his firing. I am a fan of Lovie as a coach, but holding onto him worries me a little, because some GMs may not want to take the job if they can't bring in their own coach.
  22. Steelers safety Ryan Clark won't play vs. Denver due to the high altitude affecting his sickle cell.
  23. QUOTE (HeGone33 @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 03:20 PM) I love it when you guys pull up team history, but when its against them its all about what have you done for me lately........ I'll take the 5 Superbowl rings and 18 division championships, along with the first round bye and you guys go enjoy the debacle that is the Chicago Bears......hey at least you guys are 1-0 in 2012..... And what have the 49ers done lately? 0 seasons over .500 from 2003-2010. One playoff win since 1998.
  24. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 03:03 PM) great defense almost always trumps great offense. The 2009 Saints were 20th in scoring defense 2008 Steelers - 13th 2007 Giants - 17th 2006 Colts - 23rd
  25. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 02:37 PM) We have 5 Super Bowl wins. The 2nd most in NFL History.. And have one playoff victory in the last 13 seasons. The Bears are 2nd all-time in NFL championships if you wanna talk about the past.
