  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 27, 2011 -> 07:41 PM) It will be interesting to see if this is the year that Nash finally asks out of CBJ His numbers seem to show frustration. He is already -20 & is on pace for his lowest goal/point total in years.
  2. 5 Bears in the Pro Bowl: Urlacher, Briggs, Peanut, Forte, & Corey Graham.
  3. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Dec 27, 2011 -> 12:50 PM) Wisconsin at Nebraska for their Big 10 opener. All reports indicate Nebraska is better than youd expect. All reports also indicate that nobody in Nebraska cares
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 27, 2011 -> 12:26 PM) The worst perimeter college basketball shooter I've ever seen is leaving Illinois. Crandall Head to transfer...he'd be better off at somewhere like UIC. Watching a game last week I remeber commenting that Head is very quick and super athletic, but appears to just be an awful basketball player, like he never learned the basics of the game. So much for the heralded recruiting class of Richmond, Head, & Leonard that saved Weber's job.
  5. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 27, 2011 -> 12:22 PM) Don't expect that. Hardly any of them even know who Jed Hoyer is. They all think Theo is their GM. It seems like he is, Hoyer appears to just be the title-holder. Every story on the "moves" they have made so far all seem to quote Theo more than they do Hoyer. I doubt Hoyer can make any decision without Theo's full support. He's like Theo's puppet IMO.
  6. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Dec 27, 2011 -> 09:13 AM) I sort of hate to admit this, but I am curious as to how the trainwreck that is Lindsey Lohan looks in her Playboy layout. Anyone seen it? Think it was discussed earlier in this thread. The pics are very photoshopped, hard to tell it's her, but her chestal area looks good.
  7. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Dec 27, 2011 -> 09:50 AM) I think it would be funny if Brady broke the record next week. Brees doesn't really need to play next week, but the Patriots need to win to keep home field advantage. I would guess in the next couple of years you could see this record fall again. If the Saints win & the 49ers lose, then the Saints get the 1st round bye so he does have a reason to play. Granted the 49ers are playing St. Louis, but the Saints lost there this season, so anything can happen.
  8. Good thing that the Hawks didn't have to play an NHL team last night. They came out sloppy as hell for the whole game. Luckily, the talent disparity won out and it turned into an easy victory.
  9. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 23, 2011 -> 03:53 PM) That's what I thought. 4 prospects, no matter how projected, is a good haul for set up guy. Definitely. I think Travis Wood alone would have been a decent trade for the Cubs.
  10. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Dec 22, 2011 -> 10:38 PM) Colts LUCK may have run out tonight pardon the pun. If STL, MINN and IND tie records STL #1 and MINN #2 have a weaker strength of schedule which is the tie-breaker Ouch babe! If STL ends up #1, that would be interesting. They have a very young QB who is making big money, so that would be a much tougher decision that what the Colts are facing.
  11. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 22, 2011 -> 10:31 PM) Any Colts fan cheering at the end of the game tonight is an idiot. Why are you cheering? And congrats to the Texans, who blew the inside track to a bye by losing to the Panthers at home and then at the Colts. They finally are playing like a team that lost their top two QBs, their top 3 in the league receiver, and their stud defensive end. They were hanging in there for a while, but its starting to fall apart.
  12. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 22, 2011 -> 10:20 PM) If not for Heath Ledger is Joker number 1? I was thinking the same thing. And if Heath Ledger was still alive, would Joker still be number 1?
  13. QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 22, 2011 -> 06:55 PM) Carlos Beltran 2 yr deal with the Cardinals. That could be a steal. He has injury trouble, but it's only a 2 year deal so it won't handicap you. And the guy can still hit. Even with losing Sir Albert, the Cards might be the NL Central favorites at this point.
  14. If USC doesn't have the bowl ban, Barkley is gone. But after winning in Eugene, I think he realizes they can make a run at the BCS championship, which they couldnt this year. Plus, if you family does well and you buy a $5 million insurance policy you can protect against injury. Not to mention the strange in LA is much better than in Cleveland, St Louis, Jacksonville, etc.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 22, 2011 -> 10:13 PM) Maybe it's me, but since Weber's been there, his teams have always done a great job when they apply serious pressure in the form of a turnover or foul style press. Absolutely. I think that's how they came back from 20+ down in one half vs Clemson a few years back. On the flip side, I think that when teams have pressed Weber's teams, they have fallen apart awfully quickly as well.
  16. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Dec 22, 2011 -> 03:30 PM) Royals will trade Soria to the Red Sox, Atlanta will send JJ to KC and the Braves are to receive prospects.. Not to sure how close this is to getting done http://www.royalsreview.com/2011/12/22/265...to-sox-jurrjens Everytime the Royals seem to make progress, then boom, they take two steps back.
  17. Have fun making the playoffs in that division Mark & Ozzie.
  18. Barkley is staying at USC. Insert "USC players get paid more than NFL players do" joke here.
  19. Matt Barkley to announce his NFL decision in a few minutes. Everyone is saying that he will stay another year. If so, there is a top Heisman frontrunner & potential national championship contender.
  20. Sorry Rock, but apparently The Sanchise has snagged Kate Upton. For being such a bad QB, he sure has taken advantage of his status.
  21. Mizzou is a 7.5 point favorite. I'd jump all over that, I see a 12-15 point win for the Tigers.
  22. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Dec 21, 2011 -> 01:09 PM) If I remember right, Lucky has their homemade gnocchi on special tonight. Just unreal. Enjoy. Butternut squash stuffed gnocchi w/ garlic shrimp in a vodka sauce. Outstanding.
  23. Typical KW, coming out of nowhere to re-sign Danks after everyone pegged him as gone. I think it's a great deal, good market value. Even if you are re-building, he can be an important part of the rotation 2-3 years from now. I think the trade market just wasn't there for him with all these other cost-controlled pitchers available.
