  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 20, 2011 -> 09:07 AM) Maybe they were referring to the chick he supposedly got it from?
  2. QUOTE (G&T @ Dec 19, 2011 -> 11:15 AM) The old "private medical issue" excuse. foxsports Is TMZ really all that reliable with these sources? In any event, what is so private that he can't tell the team doctors so they can check the ingredients? Sounds like someone may have caught a case of the herps.
  3. I watched some of the video of the North Koreans mourning his death, it's just kinda creepy. The "crying" looked so forced, like there was someone watching them to punish them if they didn't cry loud enough. Which is probably 100% true.
  4. I hate how every expert is already guaranteeing that he won't be Dice-K part 2. Nearly every hyped starter that comes from Japan has a few good years and then flames out due to injury or bad performance.
  5. I had Hans Gruber high, but I totally forgot about Simon from Die Hard 3. Totally should have had him on my list. T-1000 was my top choice. Such a bad ass in T-2.
  6. The 49ers defense deserves some credit, but maybe Big Ben needs to stop playing hurt all the time. A couple of those throws he missed were on him and looked to be caused by his ankle injury. Caleb Hanie is Jon Quinn v2.0. Carves a niche as a backup for a few years, then finally gets thrown into the mix and proves to not be a NFL quarterback and will probably never see the league again. It's possible that Nathan Enderle is worse, but we might as well find out, Hanie can't go back out there.
  7. I think it's a lock that Illinois again scores under 40 points in a game this season. Maybe the coaching has something to do with this lack of offensive consistency? The Fire Weber bandwagon is looking enticing. Crandall Head may be very athletic and explosive, but that kid is an awful basketball player. He has zero awareness whatsoever as there where he is on the court.
  8. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Dec 17, 2011 -> 10:30 PM) Pretty ugly game all round really. Hope Garrett tears into them for that 2nd half effort. They were up 28-0, what the f*** did you expect?? What the heck happened to the Buccs, they were legit playoff contenders last year and have just fallen apart. Josh Freeman looked like a franchise QB and now you have to question him. P.S. I am not looking forward to attending the football game at Soldier Field in ten hours.
  9. The Phillies are becoming the Yankees right before our eyes
  10. QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 17, 2011 -> 05:06 PM) Latos is very good, but he's no better than Danks. Just a better contract situation. I feel like people constantly forget this. It really doesnt matter who is better, Danks or Latos or Gio. Danks is one year from free agency while the others are 3-4 years away. That makes such a difference and that's what it's all about when it comes to trade value nowadays.
  11. NW had a close game with Central Conn. St. I'd love for them to finally make the tourney, but I'm thinking that 9-1 record is a mirage. What's their best win, G-Tech? Seton Hall? They played one good team and got run out of their own gym.
  12. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 17, 2011 -> 09:13 AM) 15 years later... Teemu Selänne returns to play in Winnipeg tonight. Very cool. I read on the Twitterverse that the Ducks got to their hotel at 2:30 this morning. There was about 250 fans outside chanting his name, he stayed and talked and signed autographs for all of them.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 17, 2011 -> 04:01 PM) I can't believe people still get suckered into trading for pitchers who put up huge numbers in San Diego. Javy Vazquez would have been a Hall of Famer if he pitched there. Latos's career splits @ Petco: 3.11 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, .229 BAA Away: 3.57 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, .224 BAA
  14. The League last night was absolutely hilarious. Taco can be overboard from time to time, but last night he was ridiculous.
  15. Another day, another Hawks win. Anaheim is bad. Is this gonna be the 3rd straight year the backup goalie steals the job in midseason? I still think Crawford is the starter come playoff time, but Emery has stepped it up.
  16. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 16, 2011 -> 05:35 PM) Yeah, 73-75 wins would be much more likely, based on what we saw last year out of Beckham and Axis of Evil...and how Humber faded down the stretch as well. Not to mention the likelihood that the bullpen won't settle down into their roles until halfway through the season, and Ohman will quickly get overexposed if you trade Thornton. Nice, I like that nickname
  17. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 16, 2011 -> 10:41 AM) It is kind of primetime. It is the only game of the day, it is a featured game. Honestly, the Jags should be getting the Lions treatment. No primetime/featured games until you show you can compete Well the Jaguars were 8-5 last season before losing to the Colts and collapsing, so maybe that had something to do with it? Injuries & a bad starting rookie QB are killing them this year.
  18. Moss has definitely been doing well. I probably should start Williams, but all his weeks of 3 or 4 points worry me. Talk about boom or bust.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 16, 2011 -> 09:49 AM) Because it's the only way the local fans will see the games? Sunday/Monday night football games are exempt of the blackout rule?
  20. My mediocre team has survived this far behind Rodgers, Cruz, & the Bears. I need to pick 3 out of these 5 scrubs to start this week. Who do I pick? Ben Tate vs. CAR (everyone loves the matchup, even though he's the backup) Donald Brown vs. TEN (Colts suck, but someone has to run the ball) DeAngelo Williams @ HOU (actually scored 2 of last 3 weeks) Brandon Lloyd @ CIN (Sounds like Kellen Clemens is starting instead of Bradford) Santana Moss @ NYG (Sexy Rexy says f*** it, I'm going deep)
  21. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Dec 16, 2011 -> 08:53 AM) What do the Nationals have in the way of prospects? Anybody that would be a nice get for Danks? I remember hearing about some kid named Harper??
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 16, 2011 -> 07:48 AM) FAN590 SN 590 The FAN The Philadelphia Flyers have announced Defenceman Chris Pronger is done for the season due to severe post-concussion symptoms. They really are taking these concussions seriously in the NHL nowadays (as they should). The Flyers season potentially still has over 5 months to go and they already are calling him out for the year.
  23. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 15, 2011 -> 12:17 PM) Yeah but a couple of inches was not what the rule was designed for, it was designed for toe drags, spins etc. The one in question from above was when St Louis completely stopped, dragged and then shot. St. Louis, that's who it was, thanks I couldn't remember. I found . It's obviously a different move than Kaner's, but both are similar in that they kind of stop the puck's forward movement, but don't really bring it backwards.
  24. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Dec 15, 2011 -> 03:12 PM) Illinois' D-Line coach is staying, so that's something. That's really been a strength the last few years, and he's supposedly a good recruiter with Florida ties. All we need is for All-American Whitney the Mercilus to stay in school another year.
  25. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Dec 15, 2011 -> 01:35 PM) I dont know if the Feds will be interested in going after buyers. Maybe CPD will, but the Feds aren't that concerned with people actually getting high. Yeah, but if Roger Goddell gets that info, he will start suspending players without a second thought.
