  1. Is the Illini game available online to watch anywhere? I am in Cali now so it's definitely not on TV anywhere here
  2. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 20, 2011 -> 10:41 PM) The Walking Dead continues to be mediocre while Boardwalk Empire continues to kick ass. Definitely. They keep on building up storylines, with only three episodes left, stuff's about to blow up! Should be good.
  3. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 22, 2011 -> 04:04 PM) Does the AFC get first dibs on him, like in baseball? I don't believe so, it just goes by record, worst to first. Since the Bears have such a tough strength of schedule, I believe they are 30th in the waiver order, only ahead of GB & SF. I think they have the best SOS of all the 7-3 teams, which sucks for them.
  4. Kyle Orton waived by the Broncos today. I wonder if the Bears would have a chance to pick him up by Sunday. He would be an OK option to serve as a backup to Caleb. He did OK in the caretaker role back in 2005-06.
  5. @Kevin_GoldsteinKevin Goldstein Remember Theo's press conference with the Cubs? Remember about the big investment in scouting and development? Bye-bye.
  6. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 22, 2011 -> 11:32 AM) It'd also take away dice-rolling skill and make it a completely randomized game. Dice-rolling skill? I wasn't aware that some people are better at rolling dice than others?
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 22, 2011 -> 11:59 AM) JeffPassan Jeff Passan Teams can trade for only 50% more than their international spending cap. So if a team has a $2.5M cap, most it can trade for is $1.25M. Draft tax is harsh: Teams that go more than 5% over slot get a 75% tax. From 5-10% over, a 75% tax and loss of 1st-round pick the next year. More draft tax: Go 10-15% over, 100% tax and loss of 1st- and 2nd-round picks. 15% and higher is 100% tax and loss of two first-round picks. Good news for White Sox fans!
  8. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 22, 2011 -> 10:51 AM) Just admit you were clueless. It is ok. Ok. I am aware of Movemeber, but it never crossed my mind when I saw Crosby's mustache until much later. You win.
  9. I think Kemp deserves it more than Braun, but Braun will win.
  10. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 22, 2011 -> 10:46 AM) Damnit J4L. Stop getting drunk. The robber also left a book on KW's nightstand titled "A Beginner's Guide to Sabermetrics." A post-it note was attached to the book saying "Read this, motherf***er"
  11. Apparently California casinos do not allow dice games to be played. Instead, craps is played with the dealer drawing a card from each of two piles of Ace to 6. The odds are the exact same, but it takes away all the fun and the game goes way too quick.
  12. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 22, 2011 -> 10:07 AM) NHL much? Have you happened to notice that like 85% of the Blackhawks have terrible mustaches right now? Movember Jonas Hiller's hilarious 'Movember' helmet Tim Thomas's hilarious 'Movember' helmet 10 Greatest NHL Mustaches for Movember (so far) Yes, I am aware of the month of Movember. Crosby just looks like a 10-year old who taped two skinny strands of hair under his nose.
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 02:36 PM) This is not a good time or offseason to be a Sox fan. Because of three unproductive zillionaires in Dunn, Rios and Peavy we can't keep Mark Buehrle. It's obvious Mark is gone. Why don't we just have a team of all unlikeable underachievers? Last place is our destiny it appears. When Mark signs somewhere else we ought to at least give Paulie a break and trade him to Arizona. Is this a haiku?
  14. QUOTE (flavum @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 07:07 PM) Joe Nathan to Texas. Guess they're seriious about moving Feliz to the rotation this time. Apparently Feliz was so distraught about blowing the 9th inning lead in game 6, Washington couldn't send him out there for the 10th, hence the appearance by Darren Oliver. I think the closer/starter decision was a no-brainer at that point.
  15. QUOTE (zenryan @ Nov 22, 2011 -> 08:41 AM) McCoy McCoy = Shady
  16. Crosby really needs to shave that awful mustache. Besides that though, he probably is the best player in the game again. Happy for him that he was able to come back without any issues. The Penguins have been dominating the East without him, so watch out now.
  17. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Nov 20, 2011 -> 09:31 PM) I dunno if he'll miss a snap. Dude is a tough mother f***er. Completed two passes after his thumb got destroyed. Hell, Ben Roethlisberger played with a broken thumb and didn't affect him that much. Unless it's so bad it needs surgery.... We'll see what happens when it all becomes official. I'd like to see the difference between Ben's thumb and Cutler's. In no way am I questioning Cutler's toughness meatheads. They call both injuries a broken thumb, but I wonder how truly broken one is compared to the other. A fractured bone could be different than every bone in the thumb being smashed.
  18. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Nov 20, 2011 -> 09:14 PM) Call me crazy, but I think they can beat at least 3 of these 4...Broncos, Seahawks, Vikings, Chiefs I don't think the Raiders game is an automatic L either. I was pretty hyped for the game in Lambeau though, so much for that now.
  19. QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 20, 2011 -> 09:05 PM) Thinking of the Sox maybe? The Athletics & Raiders do play in the same stadium.
  20. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Nov 20, 2011 -> 10:01 PM) Cutler's our 6-8 weeks, could be back for the playoffs.... IF we make it. f***. If Hanie can go 3-3, the Bears should still have a good chance to make the playoffs. It's gonna be 2005 & 2006 all over again, depend on the defense & special teams.
  21. QUOTE (Wanne @ Nov 20, 2011 -> 09:57 PM) They never play worth a s*** in Oakland anyway...without Cutler...forget it. They are 2-2 all-time in Oakland, last time they played there in 2007, they won?
  22. QUOTE (SouthSideTeacher @ Nov 20, 2011 -> 09:51 PM) Pat Mannelly out for season with busted knee. perfect. :/ I was pretty upset about his injury, until about 10 minutes ago when I heard about the other injury.
  23. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 20, 2011 -> 09:47 PM) Prepare for a beatdown in Oakland next week. Prepare for the Caleb Hanie Show.
  24. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 20, 2011 -> 05:59 PM) I'd do it, only because no player has ever struck the fear of God in me when playing against them. I still have nightmares about this game.
  25. Sid the Kid to finally return Monday night vs. the Islanders.
