  1. News reports coming out of Philly that Paterno will not coach another game for PSU.
  2. This is happened to players' families in Venezuela, but don't remember it happening to an actual player. Here is the Bing translation of the spanish article:
  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 9, 2011 -> 02:24 PM) 1. Forced into retirement (1998) 2. Banned from bringing children on Campus (2002) 3. Disassociated from Charity (2008) Three strikes right? This is still the part that blows my mind. Stop playing with your random kids on our campus, do it elsewhere! WTF?
  4. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 9, 2011 -> 11:23 AM) Merced is a Spanish word, too. It'd be like grasses benefits. Bummer, that's not much of a nickname.
  5. I probably should not say anything else on this topic as my wife is a Miami grad.
  6. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 9, 2011 -> 11:13 AM) For a second I thought it was saying his name was Mercedes Cespedes. That would be an awesome name. The Grass Mercedes?
  7. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 9, 2011 -> 10:45 AM) I don't know the general Packers fan mentality, but I cannot imagine how awful a team run on popular votes from the average Bears meatball fan would be. Ditka would be head coach for life, that's for sure. If the meatball fans called plays, they would run it on 1st & 2nd down every single time, cause that's "Bear Football!"
  8. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 9, 2011 -> 09:52 AM) Some of his actions were partially funded and aided by PSU. That should be one of the main factors in cleaning house. The whole "don't bring kids onto PSU campus anymore" is the worst part. It's like they said, "We don't care what you do with your little boys, just keep the university out of it."
  9. It seems like the higher-ups at Penn State are treating this like Sandusky only had some weird sexual fetish which just shouldn't have taken place on campus. Do they realize how seriously awful his actions were? He was a f***ing child molester, not just some S&M freak. Their actions throughout this entire process have just been unexplainable.
  10. Hawks have a lot of games in the next two weeks then hit the Circus trip. They might wanna figure this out before it starts getting ugly. Way too early to panic though.
  11. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 9, 2011 -> 12:48 AM) Phillies haven't don't too much wrong over the last half decade. But this and the ridiculous Howard extension, well, suck. It seems to happen to all teams that become financial powerhouses. Look at the Red Sox with Lackey/Crawford/Drew, the Yankees with all those bad starting Pavano/Brown/Wright/Burnett. It's like teams forget what got them there and they just start throwing money around because they can, not thinking about what they are spending on.
  12. AP reporting Paterno to retire at the end of the season. Big deal, he was gonna retire soon anyway.
  13. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 9, 2011 -> 07:29 AM) One of the main reasons I went to Miami was the superior p****. My money is on the hideous duke chick If that's what you were after, I think Miami-FL should have been your choice, not Miami-OH
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 9, 2011 -> 07:03 AM) A lot of the dollar amount would have to do with my earning power as a player. If I was a guy who had made a $100 million in my career, it would be much different than if I were something like a million dollar a year player early in my career. A title is important, but so is taking advantage of the chance to set my family as much as possible. This. If you are a 26 year old who has been playing on your first contract, you want that big payday to set yourself for life. If you are Jim Thome who has made tons of money already, the contract doesn't mean much.
  15. QUOTE (flavum @ Nov 8, 2011 -> 04:20 PM) RIP Heavy D Whoa. Now that we found love, what are we gonna do....
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 8, 2011 -> 05:07 PM) TBrownYahoo Tim Brown Confirming Madson with Phils, 4 for 44 mil. Fifth-year option worth 13 mil. I hate to give a reliever that many years for that money, but Madson has been pretty consistent over the last 5 seasons in between the 8th & 9th innings.
  17. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Nov 8, 2011 -> 03:07 PM) Packers plan stock sale next week. So if anyone wants to be part owner of the Packers! Packers stock sale. How much stock would I have to buy to force a trade of Aaron Rodgers?
  18. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 8, 2011 -> 02:47 PM) have to imagine Ochocinco isnt far behind, he hasnt caught anything all season. Thats two busted trades for the Pats I honestly thought he was gonna have a great year with Brady. Whoops.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 8, 2011 -> 02:23 PM) If there's a limit for that, the Bears have to be close too, right? I thought the limit was 5, but I could be wrong. The Bears are currently at four. They have already played 3 and still have the X-mas night showdown at Lambeau
  20. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Nov 8, 2011 -> 01:43 PM) I have tickets to that game, so that would be awesome... But yeah, don't think Bears-Chiefs would be a good enough match-up for the SNF game. I just checked the schedule, there are some way more enticing options for NBC that week. Packers/Giants, Lions/Saints, Bengals/Steelers
  21. Peyton Manning's injury strikes again. The Dec. 4 Colts-Patriots game has been removed from the Sunday night slot and moved to noon. No replacement game named yet. (Bears are at home vs. KC that day, so I highly doubt that gets moved)
  22. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 8, 2011 -> 12:39 PM) I want to know why this McQueary guy is getting such a pass. The guy (28 yrs old at the time, so not exactly a kid) walked in on a rape and did nothing but call his coach. How on earth do you not make a scene and try and protect the kid from that monster? McQueary's inaction was worse than anyone else at Penn St. IMO. I can understand why he didn't make a scene and stop it. Everyone says they would, but sometimes in a situation like that you get scared and freak out and aren't sure what to do. Not everyone can play the hero role. That being said, after the fact, there is no reason why he didn't call the police to report what had happened. He definitely deserves more blame than he has been receiving.
  23. @FOX29philly Joe Paterno's son Scott sez his dad will be on sideline Saturday vs. Nebraska and coaching PSU for the foreseeable future
  24. I bet you Atlanta would be interested. I hear they have a new hitting coach who could do wonders with Gordo's swing.
  25. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 8, 2011 -> 11:50 AM) Matt Millen "PSU should investigate this on their own timetable" Go draft some more WR's douche PSU already has done this on their own timetable. It took over 10 years to get a child molester arrested, while he was hurting more children the whole time.
