  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 3, 2011 -> 01:51 PM) Also in Game One, down 6 runs or something with a man on first, Ron Washington called for a sac bunt. Nobody knows why. But again, we do that bunt and ... implosion! When did he call for a sac bunt? If you are referring to the Josh Hamilton bunt, he was trying to beat the shift, it wasn't a called sac bunt.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 3, 2011 -> 01:01 PM) Marlins might be now You don't need a farm system when your manager has so much personality.
  3. Wow. How about them Cardinals. Once in a while La Russa's overmanaging works
  4. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Oct 2, 2011 -> 09:22 PM) Take someone like Andre Reed who had 88 td in his career. Hester has 26. Sterling Sharpe had 65 and he was never even nominated for the HOF. I don't how you put Hester in. How many kickoffs or punts did Reed & Sharpe return?? You might as well compare Mika Mussina & Eric Gagne.
  5. Boardwalk Empire FTW. Absolutely loved the Chalky White jail scene.
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 2, 2011 -> 07:14 PM) I will admit I didn't read the article. But Omar can kiss my ass and good riddance. You're like 60 and shouldn't be playing that much anyway. Go play bingo or something. Not to be an ass to Omar but you said it perfectly. I doubt another team would even have him on the roster.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 2, 2011 -> 08:57 PM) How does their rotation stack up next year if they were to trade another starter? Price, Hellickson, Davis, Niemann, Moore. Not too shabby.
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 2, 2011 -> 07:02 PM) That wasn't my point. The point was the Rays were able to deal Garza without losing anything from the big league club because they had Jeremy Hellickson ready to go. Gotcha. I thought you were saying they traded him when his perceived value was highest. It must be nice to be able to just throw starters out there from nowhere.
  9. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 2, 2011 -> 06:52 PM) And Scott Kazmir and Matt Garza. Matt Garza pitched well this year and got zero support from his offense. 3.32 ERA, 2.95 FIP. Scott Kazmir is another story. He is worthless now. Once again, the Angels took on garbage and gave up some talent.
  10. Fun Bears game to be at today with all the big TDs. They needed this win if this season is gonna matter, although I think the season may be over anyway. Cam Newton seems to be the real deal, not just with this size, but he made plenty of pretty passes.
  11. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Oct 2, 2011 -> 02:36 AM) Can someone explain this Dave Martinez love to me please? Who is he? Why do so many people want him? I clicked a link from MLBTR, and it looks like he is a 31-year-old guy who couldn't cut it as a player. Did they link the wrong person? I'm drunk and confused. Very friendly with Mrs. Sandberg
  12. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 2, 2011 -> 06:21 PM) lol. Who the hell ever compared him to Halladay? QUOTE (JPN366 @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 11:46 AM) It doesn't help that Hudson is looking more and more like a young Halladay everyday.
  13. QUOTE (Cali @ Oct 1, 2011 -> 10:41 PM) Doug Fister is who we thought he was! Yanks win tomorrow the series is over... When you pitch in a hitters park against an AL East team, it suddenly doesn't work out as well anymore
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 1, 2011 -> 03:23 PM) But another example in the past would be someone like Josh Fogg, who was a reliever at Florida and with the Sox...eventually evolving into a pretty high quality starter, enough to start a World Series game. Really? In that World Series game, he didn't make it out of the 3rd inning and gave up 6 runs. His best ERA as a full-time starter was 4.35, and that was in the NL..Can you please define pretty high quality starter?
  15. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 1, 2011 -> 03:13 PM) I know it's early. But it looks like we're in for another pitching-dominated postseason. Definitely. The average score today was 8-4.
  16. I don't think taking them to the cemetery was the biggest issue. Making them lay down on the graves is probably what upset some people.
  17. Pretty awesome nut-shot by Brown. I can't believe he didn't get booted.
  18. Watching Catching Hell right now....well done, pretty cool how they had the people in the seats next to him...plus I can watch highlights of that game 6 anyday. One thing I will never forget: Game 7, 1st inning, Cabrera takes a 98 mph ankle high fastball from Wood and puts it in the back of the bleachers. He was 20 years old then, I knew the kid was gonna be a player. Now he is in the AL Central, great.
  19. Tigers rotation: Fister, Scherzer, Verlander, Porcello, Fister
  20. Game 2 will start 1-1 in 2nd inning. Nova to pitch Saturday, Sweaty Freddy on Sunday.
