  1. Tigers over Yankees in 4 Rangers over Rays in 5 Brewers over DBacks in 3 Phillies over Cards in 3 Tigers over Rangers in 5 Phillies over Brewers in 6 Tigers over Phillies in 7
  2. Pick a side & death is not an option: Lackey/Crawford or Rios/Dunn?
  3. Stalberg out for 3 weeks Smith is day to day. Q says he is OK but they don't wanna put a timeline on it.
  4. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 11:11 AM) The past 20 seasons the Bears have had 12 seasons under .500 and the Packers have had 3. Packers: Favre, Rodgers Bears: Harbaugh, Willis, Furrer, Walsh, Kramer, Kreig, Mirer, Stenstrom, Moreno, Matthews, McNown, Miller, Chandler, Burris, Stewart, Grossman, Krenzel, Hutchinson, Quinn, Orton, Greise, Cutler
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 10:59 AM) We're actually talking past the Favre era into the Rodgers era, which you have to give them credit for... True. Once again, a star QB links the two eras though. That's the biggest problem with the Bears, their well-documented lack of a signal caller. A good QB would have helped cover the other offensive problems. Look at the Colts. Manning willed average teams to the playoffs every year. The Ravens are similar to the Bears, that they have had outstanding defenses but the offense has slowed them down. They did win the one Super Bowl but that's it.
  6. Damn you, taking away my title! I kept picking Dunn all year, so I deserve to lose and be fired like Ozzie. Congrats!
  7. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 10:52 AM) Dude, the Packers have been a consistent Super Bowl threat for like 15+ years. Even through personnel changes. They are run properly. Sure, you are going to have down years, but they've found different ways to win. The Bears have been one f***ing note (when competing) for a very long time. All D, no O. And nothing has changed. That's an organizational problem. Because they had Brett Favre for 15+ years. End of discussion.
  8. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 10:44 AM) The Packers didn't miss the playoffs last year because they beat a Bears team that struggled to put up any damn points. and cause the Buccs choked at home vs. the Lions
  9. Brewers to win it all. Tigers to get swept in ugly, painful fashion.
  10. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 05:04 PM) Let's see: AL MVP: Bautista AL CY: Verlander AL ROY: Hosmer AL MOY: Maddon AL Exec: Friedman NL MVP: Kemp NL CY: Kershaw NL ROY: Kimbrel NL MOY: Gibson NL Exec: Melvin Give me Hellickson as the AL ROY. Think I agree with the rest. (Although Braun will win the NL MVP, I still prefer Kemp.)
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 03:35 PM) str8edgeracer C.J. Wilson by Buster_ESPN Seriously people- taking out a star player to preserve his batting average lead...weak! I hope ryan braun goes 5- 5 and wins the title now You the man C.J. Wilson. b**** move by Reyes, and I guess he made the decision to leave the game himself.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 10:39 AM) Next year's starting rotation should be....IMO: - Sale - Peavy - Floyd - Humber - Stewart/Axelrod Lineup should be...IMO: - De Aza - Beckham - Konerko - Viciedo - Dunn - Rios - Ramirez - AJP - Morel Lillibridge platoon with De Aza, Flowers is back-up catcher That's not awful. Wouldn't be the AL Central favorite, but has some potential to be successful. Once again though, your chances of competing depend on a few guys playing to their career norms or living up to their potential.
  13. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 03:34 PM) Colby Rasmus just looks uncomfortable. Did he really just sacrifice bunt with runners on the corners? That's what Yahoo says.
  14. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 02:00 PM) This is going to be insane. http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball...lege-basketball That's very cool & respectful to the military, especially since it's the ship that had Bin Laden's body. As far as the actual basketball goes, it has the potential to be awful.
  15. Hopefully @NotHawk signs a 4-year deal as well, that guy has been hilarious.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 01:14 PM) This really should not be in green. You may hate some/most of the things the Bears have done, but the wins and losses are right there in front of you. I concur. It sucks they haven't won a Super Bowl and that Urlacher has had to carry several teams on his shoulders, but 3 division titles in 6 years isn't too shabby.
  17. Have you seen the Red Sox collapse? Everyone is still in the race!
  18. MDGonzales Mark Gonzales Walker stepping down after today, said he decided 1 month ago to make decision
  19. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 10:16 PM) Everything about Tosh tonight was great except the Web Redemption which was terrible. Good to hear. The last few episodes last season were bad, so I wasn't sure if would get better this season.
  20. I was down in Champaign during that run. They clinched the division on my 21st birthday, and after that it seemed like there was no stopping the WS train. It was also like somebody covered the entire campus in Cubs gear. You normally wouldn't see all that much, but suddenly everyone was talking about the Cubs and rooting for them. Watched game 6 with Cubs fan roommate, just both in disbelief that it happened the way it did. I watched game 7 at Legends with the Cubs crowd, very entertaining. IIRC, a group of Sox fans formed a club on campus called "CubsSuck". They also made an appearance at the bar to celebrate, which was entertaining.
  21. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 10:31 AM) Red Sox are trying to trade for Bruce Chen for a possible Game 163. How the hell can this be allowed? The trade deadline should be in the middle of August, and you're stuck with your organization the rest of the season. Period. That is BS, although he won't be eligible for the postseason roster. Potentially they could trade for him, give something up, and he may never ever pitch for them if game 163 doesn't happen. I love that the Yankees starter is still TBA, & Roberston/Soriano/Rivera all got work yesterday, so they definitely won't pitch today. Suck it Boston.
  22. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 04:35 PM) Where is the Pants Roland statue? Why isn't his number retired? Fielder Jones better get one first. He won the first franchise WS and he beat the Cubs doing it. Legend.
  23. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 04:33 PM) He managed our team to a WS title. I don't care if they retire the jersey number but they should either do that or have the statue. The guys that undervalue a WS title surprise me. I was at a luncheon today in KC and we talked about Ozzie and I swear to God the people at my table told me, 'Ozzie isn't popular? When was your last World Series before 2005?' I said '1917.' They laughed. Half of those people have probably never seen the Royals play a single playoff game.
  24. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 04:17 PM) Does anyone know where the hell Bart Man(in my best Wilbon voice) is now a days? Was so nuts that he was actually working with my step mom when everything occured. There was an article about him in the Trib today. It basically said that he just lives a quiet life of anonymity, still works for AON, and denies all media requests. Kevin James wanted to make a movie about him, he was offered six figures for a Super Bowl commercial, but he declines it all, and just tries to live as privately as possible.
