  1. Ramon Santiago with a walk off??? Are you f***ing kidding me???
  2. QUOTE (TomPickle @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 08:56 PM) What is Jeff Cox doing? The LF is like 20 feet into the outfield grass with Pierre up at the plate. Yeah, that was a bad call, especially with the catcher running
  3. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 08:55 PM) This team will probably cocktease us at least once more this year, won't it? Once more? I'm expecting at least two or three more times, even though there are so few games left
  4. The Twins look like the Sox playing in the Metrodome
  5. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 08:39 PM) f*** the Twins.
  6. f***ing Indians, should have worked out a trade for Kubel too
  7. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 07:54 PM) stupendously disappointing yet not surprising
  8. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 07:36 PM) but here comes vmart with 2 on, 1 out, and this guy is just nails w/RISP .400 w/ RISP this season, wow! Royals get out of it...to the 8th we go
  9. Shouldn't Mitchell play in the AFL? I mean, he has the most football experience from college.
  10. QUOTE (bozzie @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 03:05 PM) I answered your question, Northside, but noticed you haven't answered mine: Can you point to a stretch of two games - hell, gimme 1 game - where Dunn hasn't been "dung" this year? Didn't think so . . . May 7-11 5 games, 10-21, 5 2Bs, 1 HR, 7 R, 5 RBI That's about when it all went downhill
  11. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 03:07 PM) yes they are bad this season, but I think 6 division titles in the last decade speaks volumes more than their injury-filled failure this year. They get more out of less talent then we do year after year. What about this year though? That's then, this is now. They had some injuries and had absolutely nobody they could bring up to help them at all.
  12. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 02:50 PM) Yeah, he's been out all year just about. I was just saying that he didn't have to compromise his stuff after TJ. Which is what SS2K5 was alluding to. He just got hurt again. I missed that point. I thought he was just referring to Strasburg's ability to stay healthy every year. That's why I was confused you brought up Johnson, since he made it through two full seasons, then got hurt again.
  13. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 02:44 PM) #10 farm system with 5 top 100 players. Who have done what in the majors to help their awful team this season?
  14. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 02:26 PM) That remains to be seen. Josh Johnson was arguably a top 3 pitcher in baseball from Sept '08 through last year. This after TJ. Didn't Johnson get hurt and miss half of this season?
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 01:46 PM) Isn't Wise's picture on the outfield wall where he made the best catch in Sox history? Juan Uribe begs to differ....
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 01:44 PM) Do you know how bad KC's starting pitching is? Do you know how bad KC is? Do you know that they have still won over 41% of their baseball games?
  17. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 01:36 PM) Who thought he was worth acquiring again? I saw the talent and was excited about the waiver claim. Oops.
  18. It's nice that the 3 games @ DET are already this weekend. Either DET ends it for good, or the Sox get back in the race. In all likelihood though, the Sox will stay just on the outskirts of the race. Close enough to consider the thought, but far enough to make it highly unlikely. That seems to be the theme of 2011
  19. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 10:43 AM) Don't forget Manny. I don't know if that move belongs on the list. It was a desperation move made for a team on its last breath. It only cost a few million, and I really doubt that money would have changed anything this season. Plus, I thought Mannypalooza was worth it for the entertainment value alone.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 10:21 AM) It sucks, because there are a couple of other guys I would really like to keep. I hate having to give up any of my catchers. I know some of those hitters are having coming out parties next year. Keeping Brett Lawrie would be nice
