  1. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 29, 2011 -> 09:56 AM) But then where would Heyward play??? LF?
  2. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jul 29, 2011 -> 09:54 AM) Where would he play? DH/1st. Dunn could play RF. Everyday.
  3. QUOTE (kapzk @ Jul 29, 2011 -> 09:45 AM) how about Quentin for Jayson Heyward, now that would be something
  4. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 29, 2011 -> 09:44 AM) I am confused about why we would seemingly have interest in trading two players on the major league roster - one a very good lefty reliever- for an infielder who has been up for short stints with Milwaikee in 4 seasons and failed to stick including this year. In 2009 the guy had 128 at bats and struck out 54 times. We have a high strike out guy now so why do we need another one? A contest maybe? Don't give me the line of shedding salary either thank you very much. Don't see any spot for him in the infield either. Because one of those "major league" players is due a lot of money that hampers your payroll while performing like a minor league player
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 29, 2011 -> 08:00 AM) That was my first thought. Who do they have left? Wilson Betemit???? He seems to be popular
  6. vxmcclure23 vaughn mcclure by BradBiggs Roy Williams to Bears not a done deal yet. ESPN story updated Asked Williams early this morning if he had agreed to terms, he responded via text, ``Not that I know of.''
  7. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 11:53 PM) The Texans look like they might finally be putting together the combination that will unlock the playoff safe IMO. I feel like I hear that every year, lol. But I do agree that this is their best chance. Oh, and f*** Roy Williams
  8. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 09:41 PM) Tigers go to TB in late August. That is a huge series. Huger than the six games they play vs. the Sox in September?
  9. QUOTE (WCSox @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 10:19 PM) This is true, although the '97 Indians weren't really all that great in the regular season either. Their rotation was bad (gave up 815 runs) and was anchored by injury-prone dinosaurs like Orel Herscheiser and Charlie Nagy. They caught lightning in a bottle with Jaret Wright and Chad Ogea in the playoffs and came within one inning of winning the WS. Just goes to show that you don't need a bulletproof team to win in the playoffs. Wow, I didn't realize that. I just kept hearing about how good that team was, but they only won 86 games in the regular season. I guess they were just cocky from winning 99 & 100 the previous two years.
  10. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 08:48 PM) If you're not going to use him, then get value for him. They did. I don't see why people are so up in arms about it. I get that they won't use him, I just thought he was a solid, big option that could still be useful, especially considering the weakness of the Bears WR core. Then again, Kellen Davis seems capable of doing most of the same stuff. I just hope the money saved helps get a WR, maybe Malcolm Floyd? Also, I just hope Cutler can get over losing his girlfriend and boyfriend in the same week!
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 08:38 PM) You know, I just thought that this is our first real chance to see how a guy does being coached by Coop then immediately coached by Duncan. LOL, I swear I had the same thought earlier today. I don't know how much Duncan can do in the last two months, or how much of Jackson's performance will be based on his dealings with Coop. But so many teams have tried Jackson and dumped him, now you have two of the best pitching coaches in the league taking a shot. I actually think Coop did good with him, but he was still plagued with the same inconsistencies.
  12. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 06:51 PM) He even got some run support via a Brandon Allen homer. That Brandon Allen homer knocked in Chris Young.
  13. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 07:24 PM) Olsen for a 3rd rounder. That's it. No player coming to CHI. A 3rd rounder is good value for Olsen. The problem is I don't see why he was traded? Oh yeah, cause Martz is the boss.
  14. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 06:47 PM) I disagree. FYI, Delhomme used to be pretty good. I'm only talking about the last year in Carolina when Smith's stats started decreasing. Did you forget about this game? 3 years ago, Smith had a career high in yards per reception. The next two seasons it decreased as Delhomme fell apart and Clausen just sucked.
  15. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 06:04 PM) Indeed I did. Nonetheless, he's 5'9 and his YPC has declined 3 straight years. At 32, he's not getting younger either. I'll pass. and before that he had aging Delhomme throwing to him while his YPC declined. He may be 32 & 5'9, but he'd still be the best WR on the Bears, no doubt.
  16. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 05:39 PM) http://twitter.com/#!/BradBiggs/status/96702069725073409 And thankfully. We have a bunch of Steve Smiths. Oops, I don't know how I missed the (not Steve Smith) part. We have a bunch of guys like Steve Smith, but none are anywhere near as good. Oh well. Guess it's Roy Williams?
  17. QUOTE (Special K @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 04:45 PM) Somebody's been enjoying AMC's movie of the month LOL. it was on last night from 10-1, with that & the T-storms, I did not get much sleep.
  18. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 04:37 PM) And Hudson is an above average starter in the bigs now.... who got hit and lost to the Padres at Petco. Weak.
  19. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 05:33 PM) Not Steve Smith. Maybe?????
  20. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 05:03 PM) Greg Olsen has been traded to the Carolina Panthers for a player and a pick. Per Brad Biggs Steve Smith?
  21. It has to be Jurgen. They probably discussed it with him, then decided to can Bradley at this random moment. Otherwise, they may have kept Bradley.
