  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 02:12 PM) If you are 100% all in and you really mean it...that's a move you'd actually do. Problem is we may be all-in and holding an 8 high. which still may be good enough for a push in the AL Central
  2. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 01:24 PM) They do. Do the fans actually want him or does the ownership think it could help bring fans to the new stadium?
  3. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 12:34 PM) I agree with McKeon, even if he's tampering. Ozzie in Miami would make two fanbases very happy, so somebody needs to get it done. Says who? Do we know that Marlins fans even want Ozzie? Is there even a Marlins fanbase? And not the entire Sox fanbase wants Ozzie gone anyway
  4. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 11:13 AM) No, it really isn't...but people refuse to use it for what it is...mlbtradeRUMORS. It's not mlb.com, and it's not Ken Rosenthal. It's a compilation of rumors collected from newspapers and a small number of insiders that have been vetted by Tim Dierkes. That's it. That's all. Just use it for what it is. I guess that's part of the problem, so many people take it as the truth and throw it out there as fact. I'm not trying to call out this post, but whenever I see a story linked to that site I always do my best to take it for what it is & isn't
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 11:30 AM) Yeah, Adam Dunn needs a few months away from the game. In all honesty, he needs to be sent to AAA in favor of Viciedo for this team to stand a shot. He has the right to refuse a demotion, do you think he'll accept it?
  6. MLBTraderumors.com is everything that's wrong with sports news & the internet
  7. Rodrigo Lopez >>>> Roy Halladay Doc pulled a Zambrano there, drink some fluids man, stay hydrated!
  8. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 18, 2011 -> 11:29 PM) I'd say Teahen is a long shot, but I wouldn't completely rule it out if the Sox took on some cash. The Pirates have gotten a .629 OPS at 3B this year and their best option has really been Brandon Wood, who has all of a .664 OPS (and .593 against RHP). Teahen is technically a downgrade overall at .656, but sort of works as a platoon partner at .698 against RHP, so there are worse options out there. On top of that, due to his versatility, he can contribute off the bench for them as well as in pinch hitting circumstances. That's about the only guy the Sox could really trade at this point outside of maybe Rios. The problem is that Pedro Alvarez is in AAA getting healthy. He did struggle to start the season, but he put up a .788 OPS last year, and obviously has the talent/potential as a 2nd overall pick. Calling him back up sounds like a better risk than trading for Teahen. And this isn't the Pirates front office of 5 years ago either.
  9. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 08:18 AM) Uh, yeah, because it shows the Sox signed Davis and thought "he might pitch for us at some point". Wasn't he referring to the "Phil Rogers is on crack cocaine" comment?
  10. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 18, 2011 -> 05:19 PM) That means we'd have to win the division and upset the Red Sox (I think they win that division). Not seeing it at all. lol, yeah I know. The funny thing is I could see them giving the Red Sox a decent battle and possibly upsetting them. It's the whole winning the division thing that I don't see happening at all.
  11. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 18, 2011 -> 03:58 PM) And according to Heyman, the Yankees won't part with any of Banuelos, Betances or Nova. Nova? lol. I don't buy that at all. If true, have fun with that rotation sans C.C. against the Red Sox and Rangers come October. And don't forget the White Sox!
  12. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jul 18, 2011 -> 04:39 PM) He is the Lebron James of soccer. He's the best and most talented player in the world but on the biggest stage he just hasnt gotten it done yet. Barcelona has won 2 of the last 3 Champ. League titles, and Messi has been the top scorer in the last 3 Championship Leagues. Some would argue that's a bigger, tougher stage than any international tournament.
  13. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jul 18, 2011 -> 04:26 PM) Yeah, except that Thursday is an off day - he's pitching on Weds against KC. Sun-Times boo boo. Maybe it's a simulated game on Thursday vs. Mark Prior in KC
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 18, 2011 -> 03:00 PM) Is he a FA sometime soon? Why would the Yankees even think he's available? It's the new hot "rumor" over the last few days, that the Rockies would think about selling him and his team-friendly contract. I can't tell if they have actually discussed or if Heyman just had nothing better to write about.
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 18, 2011 -> 11:30 AM) Yeah. That's what happens when Minnie takes care of teams like KC. Can you believe we are about the only team KC can win a series against? They ain't beating anybody the last six weeks, cept the Sox.Davies vs. Mark is a huge mismatch in our favor, but are we gonna win? Don't forget about the Cubs!!!
  16. That new casino just opened up about 1 or 2 miles from my house. I thought about checking it out tonight, but it sounds like it's packed and there are traffic jams everywhere. Who says the economy is in bad shape?
  17. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 18, 2011 -> 01:04 PM) What the hell is Asdrubal Cabrera injecting this season? I dont know, but I wish Adam Dunn would start taking the same stuff.
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 18, 2011 -> 01:42 PM) It seems like for whatever reason they are hesitant to do a damn thing this year to improve the club. It's like KW is bound and determined to prove the club he put together will get hot and will win it all. Countless moves? I am not thinking of many. Manny, Griffey, Peavy, Jackson, Garcia, Alomar, Everett, Rios, Blum, Pena
  19. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 18, 2011 -> 11:58 AM) I think we said all these things before the last KC series. I am not holding out hope for a shelling. We kill the best pitcher in baseball a few days ago, but I am sure we will struggle against this scrub. Nobody said any of those things, because they never faced Davies. 7.74 ERA & 1.92 WHIP. Awful.
  20. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 18, 2011 -> 11:06 AM) Dick Allen can add this one to his hit list: Thank you White Sox! Isn't that the exact same thing Edwin Jackson said about the Tigers Saturday?
  21. Kyle Davies may be the worst SP in the history of baseball. Royals are 2-9 in his starts. MUST. WIN.
  22. Surprise, Surprise, Grady Sizemore to the 15-day DL.
  23. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jul 17, 2011 -> 10:44 PM) On a night when there was nothing going on in the sports world (sorry, the Triple-A All-Star Game doesn’t count), the ESPYs had no direct competition. Well, unless you count TV Land’s Hot in Cleveland (2.0 million), and TNT’s Franklin and Bash (2.54 million), which drew more viewers Wednesday night. LOL, Franklin & Bash FTW!
