  1. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 06:59 PM) He'll get called up for the upcoming Yankee's series. He shut them down once already. If only we could play them at Wrigley with the wind blowing extremely in.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 17, 2011 -> 02:21 PM) Brandon Allen provided Ian Kennedy's run support yesterday. Isn't Tony Pena due for a rehab stint soon? Great news.
  3. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jul 17, 2011 -> 04:32 PM) The real issue is how it got there in the first place. Exactly. It should have been 2-0 or 3-0 in the first half, then they blew two leads with under 20 minutes to go, one with 3 minutes left. Both of those goals were more on the defense than Solo too.
  4. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 17, 2011 -> 07:32 PM) He broke that record using 700 or so less returns than the former holder. Find a spot for him. End of story. It's the Espys. It doesn't matter and no one gives a s***.
  5. QUOTE (Real @ Jul 17, 2011 -> 12:18 AM) is this a serious post? look at his season overall... Peavy CGSO the tribe this year didnt he? his numbers still arent anything but mediocre That is my point. Jackson has the stuff, but the trade always upset me cause he is so unpredictable. If he keeps pitching these shutours though, he can make me a believer.
  6. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Jul 16, 2011 -> 08:49 PM) Anyone else watching this Twins game? Funny, the announcers just mentioning that they will gain ground on the top 2 teams in the division if they can hold the lead in the 9th. The way he said it was like the White Sox aren't even on the radar for these guys, and I guess you cannot blame them considering they own us....hopefully we can turn things around and become respectable with them again f*** the Twins
  7. FNL for the win. I was worried the last episode would end too sappy, but it was awesome not showing the last play and switching to Philly. Gonna miss the MILF Tammi Taylor
  8. After Friday's Twins game, I told myself I was done with this Sox team. I will watch them, but I won't get emotionally involved. If they complete the sweep, I might already be back in.
  9. A shutout vs. DET? Who would want this guy?
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 16, 2011 -> 08:59 PM) Carmona's coming off the DL early next week as well. That's a good thing
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 16, 2011 -> 03:42 PM) Mike Stanton is "can't miss" entertainment when he's up. He's gonna hit 50 sometime in the next few years. Guaranteed.
  12. K-Rod pitched the 8th tonight, Axford closed the 9th, gave up a run
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 16, 2011 -> 01:52 PM) The NBA I can see, but the NFL................they can't lose any dates over money. It would cost way too much. There is no doubt in my mind you will be using your tickets and parking pass on time. What sucks is that they make tons of money off preseason football, and those are the exact games I want them to cancel, cause I'm not gonna go but I have to pay either way.
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 08:25 PM) Shocking, just shocking. Tressel is a phony and a scumbag. ***Awaits RockRaines rebuttal***
  15. Time to start Joe Nathan on the old fantasy team. Do you think the Twins wish they still had Wilson Ramos to catch while Mauer is constantly hurt?
  16. Who is this Verlander fella everyone keeps praising?
  17. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 06:05 PM) Having Old St. Pat's block party right across the street from my building is awesome. Free concerts tonight and tomorrow, and I don't have to pee in a porta-potty or pay a lot for beer. Just got home from there. I know peeps working the beer tent so the cover charge was worth it. It was like a Chicago singles party in a parking lot with tons of beer, the eye candy was flowing!!!
  18. Just started watching the Friday Night Lights Finale. I have had a few drinks and will keep my tears from this thread for now.
  19. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 03:27 PM) Even when they're realistically and mathematically eliminated? Wouldn't you rather have a better draft pick as opposed to winning 79 games instead of 72? I think it's because MLB draft picks take a while to get to the majors & a lot of the draft is hit or miss, I personally root for them to win 79 instead of 72. I fully understand a better draft pick could help the team more, but I'd just rather see them win a few more games. It doesn't give me the same mind-set as the NBA/NFL, where your draft pick will immediately help you the next season. Unless they are fun-bad, then I can root for the loss cause it's entertaining.
  20. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 02:41 PM) More on Kaner, he's having minor wrist surgery but is expected to be ready for training camp. Let the rumors of a drunken fall begin...
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 02:39 PM) If he was rehabbing from alcohol though, that would likely have totally interfered with stepped up workouts and really inhibited his body from responding to them. Again, he could be almost super-human in what his body can take, I can't rule that out, but the alcohol and rehab would have really impacted workouts. You're taking in a lot of calories, getting no protein, and dramatically affecting your body's overall balance when you drink, and if you're to the point you need rehab for the drinking, your body is struggling mightily to keep up with just the alcohol. Worst case scenario...you could hypothesize a person going to therapy for something like binge-drinking, but not a full detox. Never mind my original response, I mis-understood your post. I see what you are saying now, makes sense.
  22. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 02:27 PM) While every person's body is different, the idea that he could be attacking his body with alcohol, sobering up, and then also adding a significant amount of good muscle mass is pretty farfetched. There are some who could probably do it...but that'd be rough. I think he was asking whether Kaner may have went to rehab this summer as well as stepped up his workouts, which is entirely possible, although a completely made up rumor.
  23. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 12:37 PM) wonder if SF would be interested in Flowers....? Or would they dare take back AJ? They just called up a C from AAA, Hector Sanchez. .802 OPS between High-A & AAA this season. Probably see if shows anything with the bat in the next few weeks before they attempt a trade.
