  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 03:21 PM) Saw a rumor they're trying to acquire a SS and starting pitcher...maybe Hardy/Guthrie? That would suck....
  2. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 03:17 PM) Just tuning in. Another atrocity from the offense I see. In what alternate or parallel universe does an AL team sporting a payroll of nearly $130 million get shut down by Bruce Chen? what's the Tigers payroll? The failed to score even one run against him
  3. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 03:04 PM) his next start is in over a week why not also I think the Sox take 3 of 4 or sweep the Twins I am not sure why but maybe this is the wake up call Edwin isn't pitching in the series which helps
  4. Rays up 7-5 now in the 8th Angels up 1-0 on DET and threatening.. Best. Division. Ever. edit: 3-0 LAA in the 1st, 9-5 Tampa
  5. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 02:46 PM) first ball hit to RF yay.....morons twins tied it up so much for Juan Cruz saying no. LOL, oops, Maddon kept him in there too long
  6. Chen's ERA is down to 3.17 in 10 starts this season. If he keeps it under 4 this month, I wonder if the Royals could get a decent prospect for him at the deadline?
  7. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 02:28 PM) They're even managing to overcome an imploding closer. You just know he'll go 1-2-3 against us, somehow. He's been temporarily pulled from the closer role
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 02:26 PM) If the games continues without the White Sox scoring a run, would anyone argue there's been a worse White Sox game this season? I remember the last Sox game I could attend in person, it was early 2009 and Garcia started at home against the Twins and we lost 21 or 22-1 or something like that. That was entertaining because it was at least interesting to watch the offense from the other team.
  9. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 02:23 PM) Twins attempting a nice little comeback. Juan Cruz says "No, I don't think so"
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 02:12 PM) "Losing to Bruce Chen is like losing to the batting practice pitcher AFTER he's spent the previous night getting wasted while ogling the Hooter's waitresses." Every other team in the AL Central knows what that feels like....
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 01:53 PM) As expected, the White Sox turn around KC's horrid starting pitching staff. Don't worry, I'm sure they will go back to their old ways vs. DET this weekend
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 01:51 PM) John Lackey or Zito. He'll immediately play like an MVP from the point we trade him, guarantee it. Actually, the Giants would never make that move. The Red Sox might. Without looking in depth at the contracts, I might think about Zito. But no f***ing way on John Lackey. Awful.
  13. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 01:31 PM) it really is pathetic Doug Davis Rodrigo Lopez Jeff Francis Bruce Chen the guy from Colorado come September when another season is pissed away they will have nobody to blame eventually some team in the Central will be good and then the Sox will have to hear about how good they are and how the Sox can not compete oh well what are you going to do The Sox beat Doug Davis Rodrigo Lopez- yes, that sucked, I was there Jeff Francis- The Sox won both games against him Bruce Chen- it's been one inning, and either way, Chen is 2-0 so far agaisnt DET & CLE
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 01:20 PM) Well, one good thing about today. We don't have to face Liriano. Apparently, Mauer will start at 1B tmrw for the first time this season as well. Baker may miss Sunday's start as well
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 01:18 PM) Gave up the run for the DP Much better than the 3-run bomb
  16. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 12:21 PM) Plainfield area. Wow, that's crazy. I assumed you were posting from the park, wouldn't expect a banner like that out there.
  17. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 11:37 AM) Yeah, I remember that part. I must be remembering a different case where two boys were brought to the grand jury before semen was discovered. I remember a case like that too. I think it may have been a different one, where a dead girl was found in an abandoned lot or building.
  18. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 11:27 AM) Was Girl X the case where two boys saw her dead body and then told people they had killed her? They found her beaten, raped, and poisoned in the stairwell in Cabrini. I actually think she survived, but was in a coma and unable to communicate.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 10:04 AM) AJ does not seem like the type to train his replacement. Not to me anyway. Would AJ spend 100% of his time training Tyler? No. However, I do think that the would help the kid out and teach him some stuff, Caulfield made it seem like they couldn't even be on the same roster. There are definitely other players out there that would be much better veteran players to follow, but I don't think AJP would just ignore a younger kid.
  20. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 10:11 AM) You still get paid your work salary + time off, + a tiny jury pay check. I believe its illegal for your work to fire you or punish you for being on a jury. That's a luxury only certain companies give. It's definitely not mandatory to pay you.
