  1. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 27, 2011 -> 12:00 PM) It's a short sale, but what isn't a short sale around here. Put an offer in Friday evening and had the seller/homeowner accept last evening. So now I wait on the bank/lien holder. Pretty stoked though... Congrats. The house I bought was a short sale as well. Every situation is different, but with me it took the bank two months to counter my original offer, then another month to accept my counter offer. But then they mandated closing in less than 30 days, so at least that gone done quickly.
  2. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 27, 2011 -> 10:28 AM) I'm largely hockey ignorant... how is hockey going in Tampa and Miami? I know Phoenix is possibly a dead team walking (I believe there was a movement to move them BACK to Winnipeg before the Thrashers jumped in). I could see them moving int he next few years too. I'm not sure how the teams are doing financially. I know that the attendance in Miami isn't the best, but that team also hasn't made the playoffs in 10 years. Tampa Bay won the Cup 7 years ago and nearly made it this year, so that has helped, but overall I think they are in a similar attendance situation. Pro sports never seem to thrive in Florida, college football & NASCAR are king.
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 27, 2011 -> 10:28 AM) I like a 9:30 puck drop. Booze city. On a Friday or Saturday, I agree. But during the week those don't suit my 6 AM wake up call very well.
  4. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 27, 2011 -> 10:20 AM) I've wanted to try that for a while but never have. What kind of a flavor/spice is Mongolian Beef? I don't know what flavor/spice it is, but I can tell you that it is pure awesomeness. Go for it.
  5. Looks good, that map works out better than I thought it would. I'm sure if Detroit gets moved instead of Columbus, they would prefer the Canadian division, but screw them, Detroit sucks. I think that map would look even better if Florida & Tampa Bay were just moved to Quebec, Hamilton, Seattle, KC or wherever far up north from Florida.
  6. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 27, 2011 -> 10:01 AM) The teams in the Mountain and Pacific time zone will be one in division. All of the central time zone teams plus either Detroit or Columbus will be in the other western division. How would they break up the eastern time zone teams (minus Detroit or Columbus)? I would imagine something like this, where the Canadian teams are together, as are the Southern teams. Then you just kind of mix & match all the NE teams Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Buffalo, Boston, Rangers, Islanders, New Jersey Florida, Tampa Bay, Carolina, Washington, Detroit/Columbus, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh
  7. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 11:04 AM) Come on, would anyone have got a maximum effort out of Jereme Richmond? Guy is an ass bag, plain and simple. That's not a good example. Did anyone see the article in Sunday's Trib? Richmond's uncle calls out Jerrence Howard and NBA scouts. claiming that Richmond is better than Irving. Richmond's dad has been playing damage control since then.
  8. QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 12:47 PM) On a somber note, 2013 Michigan verbal Austin Hatch and his family were in plane that crashed last night. His parents were killed and he was critically injured. They were from Ft. Wayne and he went to Canterbury. Strangely and sadly enough, this is the 2nd plane crash Hatch has been in, the last being in 2003. I hope this kid survives and is OK, but I think after the first plane crash that killed my mom and two siblings, I think I would stay the heck away from those little planes.
  9. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jun 27, 2011 -> 09:22 AM) LOL, of course we would be involved in this and somehow get screwed. Kenny can't catch a break (many of his issues are brought upon by himself though). So much for getting a return on your investment..
  10. Here's an interesting Joe Posnanski column to entertain you on this off day.
  11. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 05:26 PM) It's kinda sad that the Cubs @ Royals game last night drew more than any game in the past Sox Cubs series at the Cell. It was pretty predictable that it would happen. A weekend series in KC where the Cubs haven't played in 11 years, as opposed to a weekday series between two "rivals" who play six times every season.
  12. QUOTE (OilCan @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 07:51 PM) Make that Detroit, Columbus and quite possibly Nashville. Since they are all in the Eastern Time Zone, it would make sense. They could only move one of those teams. Other than Winnipeg, no one in the East would accept a move to the West and uneven conferences would be unfair to teams' playoff chances. (like the AL West/NL Central). Hopefully its Columbus. I would like to keep the rivalry with Detroit and I like having Nashville in the division, cause it's such a fun, easy trip to make for road games.
  13. QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 12:49 PM) College football is 2 months away... Sombody please post something!! Nathan. Scheelhaase.
  14. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 08:24 PM) I wonder if Verlander's constantly high pitch count will bite them in the ass this season. If not, he wins the CY. But he's a CG machine lately and smokey leyland lets his count get up in the 120 range. He seems to be built like Halladay/Felix where he just pitches and pitches with no issues at all.
  15. QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 11:52 AM) I really wish we could get Ladd back somehow. All of last season, that was the one player I wished the Hawks had back from the cap cleansing.
  16. I guess this six-man rotation keeps figuring itself out. Danks was just figuring it out and getting in the groove, that sucks
  17. Wow. What a day. Getting 1st round value for Brouwer is a steal. I don't know much about Olesz, but his contract is $4 mil less/year and one year shorter so I'm happy. Maybe one of the true puck heads can fill me in as to what we can expect from him, if anything. Campbell was a solid player, and wouldn't be so hated if Tallon didn't offer him that ridiculous contract. Either way, he had to go, and its good to see the Hawks have some money to re-sign Sharpie (so I dont have to buy a new jersey) and make a few other moves too. Watching that draft and checking the 2011-12 schedule made me very ready for hockey season.
  18. @JoeCStribJoeChristensen Gardy said he has talked to Mauer about getting a 1B glove, just to give #Twins another occasional option to fill in for Morneau
  19. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 04:51 PM) AJ's been hitting well of late while Dunn has been cold as ice. I'd like to see AJ and Dunn flip-flopped in the lineup. Dunn can move back up if/when he starts hitting. Just my humble opinion. Good point, I could see that move for now. I see Dunn's name and I think of how he is supposed to be hitting, not how he actually is. How the heck is he hitting .124 at the Cell?
  20. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 03:39 PM) The words "I actually like this lineup" with Pierre listed as the lead-off hitter makes me wonder if you have been drinking today. Ha, work has gotten in the way of my drinking today, so no. I just ignore the leadoff spot when he is in there, and just look to see who is batting 2-9, that part of it looks good to me.
  21. The Wolves new NHL affiliate appears to be Vancouver.
