  1. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 10:23 AM) Washington's probably too coked up to realize anything.
  2. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 10:30 AM) 2 of the 3 games are on WCIU. That's the Sox broadcast. Both of those games will also be on CSN with the Cubs broadcasters. Personally, I will probably listen to the Cubs broadcast anyway, just to avoid the Hawkaroo.
  3. Hopefully Washington can look past players that are proven pedigrees, cause CC, Price, & Lester are not deserving All-Stars this season. Beckett, Weaver, Verlander , Shields, Pineda, & Ogando have all been better than Humber. Like you mentioned, Gonzalez is the only deserving Athletic, Wilson being a Ranger helps his cause as well. Then it would come down to Humber or Haren, Romero, Felix (who hasn't been Cy Felix this year). His odds are pretty slim it appears. Last year they selected 8 starters, then 3 more were added due to injury/ineligibility.
  4. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 07:22 AM) Get Him to the Greek was mildly entertaining. I definitely enjoyed it, although watching it in the theater with my wife and mother-in-law got a bit uncomfortable during a few scenes. Not a big fan of Puff Daddy (or whatever he calls himself now), but I thought his character was great.
  5. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 09:05 AM) I like this one. Whoa. That thing is intense!
  6. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 08:29 AM) I wonder if there will be another rain out... Latest weather report I saw had only a 20% chance of storms tonight, but it's definitely gonna rain all day.
  7. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 08:05 AM) Is Floyd going to bat at home? Yeah, he's gonna bat for Pierre, who will be the designated bad fielder. Ha, I saw Floyd's name in the Batter v. Pitcher list, and I totally spaced out on the DH being back after the weekend in AZ.
  8. So with the bonuses being gone too, that's nearly $9 million more the Hawks will have. It should be enough to take care of any raises coming up and maybe sign a vet for more than $500k.
  9. Forget the Twins, Indians, Tigers, and that meaningless AL Central title Today, the battle for the best trophy in sports begins...the BP Crosstown Cup!! Career Numbers vs. Big Z: Beckham: 2-3 Dunn: 13-62, 1 2b, 7 HR, 18 BB, 17 K Floyd: 0-1 Konerko: 9-29, 4 HR Pierre: 8-33, 2 2b AJP: 6-21, 1 HR CQ: 1-1, 1 3-run HR Alexei: 3-7, 2 HR Rios: 1-1 Vizquel: 3-14, 1 2b
  10. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jun 19, 2011 -> 07:03 PM) Ryne Sandberg and Devin Hester say hi! Plus the obvious, J.P. Bordeleau. Shaun Gayle
  11. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 19, 2011 -> 06:58 AM) How far along is it? I want to rewatch the finale. The regular season just finished and the playoffs are next.
  12. Dunn in RF? Let's get this party started!!!
  13. Due to contract issues, I think Hammer, Sharp, or Brouwer or most likely to be traded, we will see what happen. It's good to get rid of that $4 million bonus and have both goaltending spots filled up. No matter what happens with the roster, I think the Hawks still have to be a favorite and I can't wait for the season to start. Reading about the Boston parade and the fans excitement reminds of last season.
  14. Anyone else think Tosh.0 has been on the decline the season? I have enjoyed the web redemptions, but the rest of it seems to be more extreme instead of funny.
  15. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Jun 18, 2011 -> 09:53 PM) Ah let me rephrase. Why was a Twins team full of minor leaguers able to scratch out enough hits to win but we can't? Would Blackburn shut them down? I just doubt it. I'm so sick of being the definition of Streaky. It hasn't been about scratching out hits. This is the third time they have won 1-0 with a solo homer (twice against the Sox). It's like they are beating us playing White Sox type of baseball.
  16. QUOTE (High Mileage @ Jun 18, 2011 -> 12:05 PM) I'm not saying the guy is a superstar, he's obviously not, but for the money he's been a great pick-up. He's a filler type, meanwhile he's been a pleasant surprise and his arm has saved our asses on more than one occasion... I guess so man. For a team with the "best system in baseball" that is not competing, I don't know why you would waste $2.5 million on a guy that nobody else wants, who has proven to automatically decline after he spends a few months with a team. That's cool if you are happy with him, but there is no way that it can be considered a "good move" for Moore.
  17. Friday. Night. Lights.
  18. Alex with his best Juan Pierre impersonation....I hope he lost it in the lights
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 18, 2011 -> 07:35 PM) Duke had only TWO walks the entire season coming into this game. Amazing. Not that he's that good, but that's some control. He's only pitched 23.2 innings, but it's still not bad. When hitters are hitting .343 against you though, the control isn't helping.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 18, 2011 -> 07:27 PM) Hey, a run! Even if it was a weak ground ball, the weakness was what scored paulie. LOL, if he hits that hard, Paulie gets gunned down at home. Alex knew what he was doing
