    QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jun 3, 2011 -> 04:13 PM) getting married why?
  9. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 3, 2011 -> 01:40 PM) Thanks for trying to make me feel better, Steve. You guys can be the judge... Mustang Charger Reminds me of the car commercial where the guy finds out his wife is pregnant and has to stretch his sport car into a sedan.
  10. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Jun 3, 2011 -> 01:30 PM) With the 5 starter and 175 inning era it's impossible, to win 300 a pitcher would have to a rookie when he's 21 and AVERAGE 15 wins per season and pitch till he's 42 just to win 300. I think 250 - 240 wins is a nice plateau for hall consideration, another thing is how long you pitched to get there, cause if you pitch 25 seasons at 10 wins per you shouldn't be hall material I sense some anti-Jamie Moyer sentiment!
  11. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 3, 2011 -> 12:00 PM) You're out $50. This girl and her friend felt it worthwhile to steal your wallet and have been kicked out of their apartment and clearly have a very s***ty life. Move on, be happy you aren't in their situation, and don't waste any more of your time on those broads. I agree with this. If the girls weren't smart enough to throw your cards away a year later, then they obviously are missing something upstairs anyway.
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 3, 2011 -> 12:54 AM) I love James so I'd like to read that. But what starting pitchers are going to get in the Hall of Fame without a TON of victories. It's still the reason guys get in the Hall who pitch. You think they are gonna put guys in with 150 wins just cause they have good peripherals? Unless there is a Sandy Koufax type situation (165 Ws), you aren't gonna see a starter make the HOF with 150 wins. Most HOF pitchers have so many victories because they were that good for that long of a period of time. No HOF-caliber pitcher will pitch for 15 years and only win 10 games per season. The wins pile up eventually if you are that good. Felix only had 13 wins last year, but the year before with a similar team he won 19. I will say that ins aren't the best judge of a pitcher's overall career, and the 300 W benchmark needs to be lowered. HOF pitchers will have a ton of victories, because they will have pitched a ton of games and the wins will happen if you are that good.
  13. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 3, 2011 -> 11:36 AM) Really, even factoring in the DH? Like Pierre said last year and others contend as well, you see a lot more off speed stuff in the AL, a lot more deception. I thought you were referring strictly to talent, which is definitely not the case, especially coming from the NL East. How much effect would the DH have on a guy hitting in the middle of the lineup anyway? I understand if you are hitting near the pitcher, but AL or NL, if you are a 3 or 4 hitter, you are tough (other than the Padres), and the pitcher will have to battle you. I don't see how much would differ for a hitter like that. edit: oops, meant the NL East
  14. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 3, 2011 -> 10:46 AM) better pitching in the AL is kicking his ass. I suspect he'll show improvement next season. How is the pitching that much better in the AL? If you compared the leagues, it would be close, maybe in the NL's favor Dunn's division last year alone had Halladay, Oswalt, Hamels, Johnson, Nolasco, Hudson, Hanson, Jurrjens, I'm sure I am missing a name or two.
  15. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 3, 2011 -> 10:57 AM) This is the team in front of the Sox. Why wouldn't you want to play them? It was more of a joke pointing towards our recent lack of success within the division. Of course Detroit is the team the Sox need to pass, so I want to play them and beat them, just hope they get it done.
  16. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 3, 2011 -> 10:44 AM) finally, some freakin' division games. be careful what you wish for...
  17. Must-win tonight! Can't blow the momentum from Boston and Verlander pitches tommorrow. Get it done Mark!
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 3, 2011 -> 09:57 AM) When your list basically finds a way to exclude Lincecum, Cain, Bumgartner, Posey, Belt, etc., you've sorta made my point for me. 3 of those guys were top ten picks (Posey was #5). Yes, drafting that high doesn't guarantee success as the Pirates & Royals keep proving, but you can get only so much credit for a pick that high in the draft.
  19. How many playoff berths in the early 2000s would Sabean have had if he Bonds didn't get jealous of Sosa/McGwire and became the monster he was? Also, I don't remember Sabean complaing about catcher collision when J.T. Snow plowed into Pudge at the end of the 2003 NLDS.
  20. Kimmie Gibbler looks the exact same
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 3, 2011 -> 08:30 AM) Dr. Jack Kevorkian. Of natural causes. I don't believe it

    Summer Plans

    Working 5 days a week. Why would that change for the summer? Actually, this is the first summer I have a house with a backyard instead of being stuck in a condo, so probably enjoy that and the warm weather. No big trips planned, just the standard Wisconsin lake trips, baseball games and what not.
