  1. Maybe KW did win a deal in the past 3 years after all...LILLI!
  2. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 01:53 PM) Quentin only has 18 doubles this year. Tied for the MLB lead with Michael Young and Alex Gordon (surprise there)
  3. QUOTE (zenryan @ May 31, 2011 -> 09:48 PM) I was discussing this on another forum with a Wings fan and he brings up Detroit being in the Eastern time zone as a reason why its a logical move. Plus he brought up Detroit being the best road attendance team as another reason. Detroit visiting Florida,Carolina,Islanders a couple of times a year is better than having Columbus,Dallas or Nashville traveling to those cities. I'd personally like to see Nashville move to the East. It would strengthen the Southeast Division without taking a big force out of the Western Conference. There's one major flaw with this reason. Attendance in those cities will have a slight increase, but then you are taking away road attendance from Columbus, Anaheim, Colorado, Dallas. They were all in the bottom 10 with under 86% capacity. It's not like there are Winnipegians everywhere to offset that loss. I do agree with you that it makes the most sense to add Nashville to the SE, Winnipeg to the NW (4 Canadian teams), and Minnesota to the Central.
  4. Career vs Wakefield Pierre LF - 3 for 6, Ramirez SS - 1 for 9 Quentin RF - 4 for 9, 1 2B Konerko DH - 8 for 34, 1 2B, 1 3B, 2 HRs Dunn 1B - 1 for 2, 1 HR Lillibridge CF Vizquel 3B - 20 for 56, 4 2Bs, Castro C - 1 for 3, 1 HR Beckham 2B - 1 for 4 Rios - 11 for 51, 1 2B, 1 3B, 3 HRs AJP - 9 for 29, 2 2Bs, 1 HR Baines - 5 for 33, 1 2B
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 10:37 AM) IF IT IS TRUE, he has been here for a year now pretty much. It took Swisher much less time than that to change minds about him. That's true, if he's not making it up, it is possible the "hatred" just started recently.
  6. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 10:32 AM) The Sox are not resigning Jackson. Coop is not a fan and neither are most of the players. If that's the case, then why did they gave up a top prospect thinking Coop could make him better?
  7. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 09:01 AM) Wade is a fall away from being done for an extended period of time. I'm interested to see how he's doing next January-February. That'll be 1.5 seasons (plus a long playoff run) of 40ish minutes of all-out basketball against teams that are giving you their all. Wade's style of play will always make him susceptible to sudden injury. But I do think that playing with LeBron & Bosh may slow down his decline. With those two guys, he can miss 20-30 games in the regular season and it's not like their playoff seed would be greatly hurt. That would also keep him fresher for the playoffs.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 08:12 AM) The Hawks? Yeah, the Hawks do, and I'm sure so do the Wings, Canucks, Canadians, hell all of the Canadian teams probably do. But I would bet that's still only a 1/3 of the league that does. It's kind of a high bench mark IMO. I would doubt any of the Western teams do.
  9. QUOTE (zenryan @ May 31, 2011 -> 06:45 PM) So does this mean in that the Wings will move to the East in 2 years? The Wings have always wanted to move to the East but I'm not sure they will get chosen. Nashville, Dallas, or Columbus seem to make more sense, they can just take the Thrashers spot in the Southeast, the Wild can move into the Norris.
  10. How many other NHL teams even have a season ticket base of 13,000??? The Coyotes & Islanders didnt even average that many people per game.
  11. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 31, 2011 -> 02:17 PM) Now see, that was good-natured Alan that I enjoyed, but it was ruined by being in the previews. Had they saved the good jokes without previews, I might have enjoyed the movie a bit more. It was still bad. I can't believe how many of the good jokes were in the previews. It's not like you had to sell the movie all that much to get people to see it. Just say the name "The Hangover", show the main characters and you would still fill the theaters.
  12. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ May 31, 2011 -> 01:44 PM) I'm going with Peavy every time. I think I would lean towards Peavy as he is the best pitcher when healthy, but in 3 career postseason/game 163 appearances, he has sucked.
  13. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ May 31, 2011 -> 12:56 PM) Not me. I'd take Edwin Jackson in a big game right now over Buehrle. Ugh, no way. Jackson is way too inconsistent with his control to trust in a one game situation.
  14. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ May 30, 2011 -> 10:44 PM) So our fearless leader once again gave away an out by calling for a stupid sac bunt again tonight that killed an inning. Ozzie leads all AL managers in calling for both sac bunts and int walks. This is LOSING baseball. The three teams in MLB that have sac bunted the least? 1st place Indians 1st place Red Sox 1st place Diamondbacks Idiot. Last year's World Series champion was 3rd in the majors in sacrifice bunts, and the AL champion led the AL in sacrifices. Idiots.
  15. QUOTE (maki @ May 31, 2011 -> 08:46 AM) and we finish a mere 9 games back of Detroit for the Division. You realize at least one team's gotta win 89-92 games, right? LOL, very true, I was just responding to his direct comment about Cleveland. With the way teams have been playing so far, I could still see the winner having less wins than that, maybe as low as 85.
  16. I agree, the Twitter hype machine made it sound like the article would change the entire college football landscape, it was more of a personal attack than anything. How about the writer quoting Mark Titus' opinion on his blog? Great journalism there.
  17. Thrashers to Winnipeg official announcement to happen today.
  18. Doug Davis & Rodrigo Lopez?? That was a bad rotation even when they were young, not 35.
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 31, 2011 -> 01:37 AM) That's what I was thinking as well. We are 11 or 12 out in the loss column, do you guys realize that if the Indians go 4-6 in 10 game stretches how hard it will be for us to catch them? We need to play amazing baseball.Of course we still play them head to head a number of times. If they keep going 4-6 in 10 games stretches, all the White Sox have to do is go 5-5 for those stretches and they would catch up by September pretty easily.
  20. KC must regret not trading Soria in the offseason. His trade value keeps diminishing with every pitch he throws.
  21. My biggest issue with the Hangover 2 was that all of the funniest parts had already been shown in the previews. The potential laugh out loud scenes had already been shoved in my face 30 times in the past few weeks, so it wasn't all that funny when it showed up in the movie, especially the scenes with Chow.
  22. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 27, 2011 -> 11:40 PM) I have to root for Boston I guess. Yuck, yuck, yuck. It's a shame either of these teams gets to win, but thankfully at least I get to see one of them get their hearts broken. Ideally Vancouver, as it's the lesser of the 2 evils. Great game tonight though, there is nothing like game 7 in hockey. Aint that the truth. People may not like hockey in general, but nothing beats a NHL game 7. Just the intensity is exhilarating, Stamkos taking a puck to the face and returning in 10 minutes. Here's to Boston taking down the Nucks. Watching the Boston fans celebrate at the end brought up major memories of last season, made me a bit jealous. Can't wait til the Hawks get back on track next season.
