  1. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 27, 2011 -> 01:12 PM) Oh s***, Shumpert is a Husky from OPRF?? Really? I could have sworn he went to King. Edit: I was thinking of Imari Sawyer, oops.
  2. QUOTE (JoeBatterz @ May 27, 2011 -> 10:17 AM) Ya gotta believe that NBC is praying for the Bruins tonight. What would the level that the Canucks-Lighting would have to be under in order to be the worst rating Stanley Cup Finals ever? The Lightning played Calgary the year before the lockout, I doubt the ratings can be worse than that either.
  3. QUOTE (IamtheHBOMB @ May 26, 2011 -> 11:12 PM) Another thing I think that a lot of people are overlooking is that this team really never gelled offensively because of all the injuries during the regular season -- which carried over into the playoffs. Hopefully, Noah and Boozer (yeah right) stay healthy next year and the team develops a good rhythm on the offensive end. Just like the rhythm Miller & Haslem were able to develop all season
  4. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ May 26, 2011 -> 11:09 PM) They do? Obviously Dirk and Terry, but who are the other 3? Marion is third on their team in scoring in the playoffs at 11.2. Now they have some good shooters, so that gives them a big edge over what the Bulls have, but it's not like Kidd or Peja are going to be carrying them to a title. I may have presented it wrong, but it meant that they have more shooters. After the stars, the Bulls have Deng & Boozer. With Dallas, you have Terry/Kidd/Marion/Peja that can all hit shots if needed. The other Bulls showed they couldnt. And that doesnt count Barea.
  5. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ May 26, 2011 -> 11:06 PM) Good. somebody should. Too bad we're stuck with him. His scoring isn't enough to offset all his other deficiencies. LOL 5 YEAR CONTRACT. That's one thing that worries me. Boozer & Noah are signed for the next 4-5 years for around $120 million, and neither saw the court in the 4th quarter. I'm not doubting Thibs decision, but you have to live with those deficiencies for the lengths of those contracts. If you cant trust them now with the season on the line, what happens as they get older?
  6. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ May 26, 2011 -> 11:05 PM) I'd love to see Cuban get a title. That f***er loves the Mavericks. I know he loves the Mavs. I go back & forth about it. Sometimes I enjoy his entusiasm, but sometimes I think he needs to back the f*** up and let his team play, it may hurt more than help. Either way, I'm rooting like hell for Dirk right now!
  7. QUOTE (Brian @ May 26, 2011 -> 10:52 PM) It seems like nobody is giving Dallas a chance. I don't get that. They have a better offensive supporting cast than we do and play good enough defense. I think it will be a fun series. I know their defense does not compare to the Bulls, although I think I'd prefer Chandler over Noah at this point. But their offense is clicking and on fire. They have 5 guys who can easily put up 20 points, while the Bulls only had 3, and that s a huge difference. Plus, DRose got shut down by LeBron's height, that won't work on Dirk. It should be a good, exciting series. I don't want Cuban to win a title, but it's better than LeBron winning.
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 25, 2011 -> 05:06 PM) J4L rule #1: Juan Pierre is to never be complimented. Even on the rare occasion he does something positive. Rule #2: Make fun of and mock Wite at all times. Rule #3: Don't use words I don't know the meaning of. I've never heard that word in my life. Even when he has an 11-game hitting streak and he hits a GW two-run single in the 9th to break a 1-1 tie? Just asking?
  9. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 26, 2011 -> 06:22 PM) Speaking of, remind me to start buying some Phillies gear because the Heat, Canucks and Red Sox all winning a championship in the same year is too much for me. Dont remember if you are a Bears fan, but the Packers won too....ugh.
  10. HBP Quentin. This guy is wild as can be, so Ozzie wastes an out with a hot bat in the 1st.
  11. The White Mamba WILL be in uniform tonight
  12. Hey Ozzie, Alexei can't bunt, ugh
  13. QUOTE (IowanSoxFan @ May 26, 2011 -> 06:07 PM) Which is worse, Tropicana or The Rogers Centre? Gotta be Rogers Centre. Toronto is a nice city and it's not in Florida
  14. The Blue Jays are 4th in baseball in SBs, as their new manager loves to run. Good luck AJ.
  15. It's nice to have Humber starting and still feel confident that the Sox have a chance to win. Morrow has some nasty stuff and will K a lot of people, but he can be scored on.
  16. The Bulls should have chances in the future, I just worry that may have blown the easiest road to the title they will ever see. -They have homecourt throughout -They had early season injuries, but were relatively healthy in the playoffs (until Omer) -The East only had two other capable teams and they played each other -Miami is still figuring it all out, Haslem/Miller are not 100% (coulda fooled me), they still have little depth -Dallas is playing great basketball & Dirk is on fire, but they aren't some all-time great team Miami will only get better (DRose will still be much shorter than LeBron), OKC will grow up & improve and has more "superstar" potential than the Bulls, the Knicks might find a coach to make them play defense, CP3 & Howard might end up somewhere creating another super team, even the Celtics still have two more years in them and will be more rested I'm not all gloom & doom on the Bulls future, but man did the cards line up in their favor this season
  17. Maybe the Pads will take Jake Peavy for Ludwick???
  18. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ May 26, 2011 -> 12:51 PM) Boston picking up right where they left off. This time against the Tigers. 5-0 through two. Hopefully they can continue this through Sunday. 7-0, out goes Scherzer. Sweep the Tigers please, then back off a little when you are back at Fenway on Monday Right now it looks like the Sox will face Lester/Aceves/Wakefield, but no Buchholz or Beckett.
  19. No official news yet, but an unofficial report has Posey with a broken leg and torn ligaments. Awful news for such a young talented player. This is bringing up some good discussion as to why catchers are even allowed to block home plate. Blocking any other base is against the rules, but home plate is OK. It's not like this is the first injury that has happened in a home plate collision.
  20. All I saw was LiquorVille, but thought that was pretty damn funny
  21. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ May 26, 2011 -> 10:17 AM) Why would KW be shopping around Allen? What would be the rush to get rid of him? Given the future uncertainty at DH and 1B at the time, it doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Obviously, I have no idea what you could have gotten for Allen on his own. However, I'm sure you could have made a trade package more attractive by including him in it. That's my problem with the trade. We didn't have a strong farm system at the time and we gave up one of our more valuable prospects for a bad reliever we didn't need. That's why the trade sucked back then. Pena's performance is why the trade still sucks now. They could have decided that Allen would never cut it in the majors, so trade him while people still think he has potential. Almost the same reason why ARI probably traded Pena. If our farm system is so bad, how valuable was one of our top prospects anyway? No one needs a bad reliever, but you could also use a decent set-up guy. They thought Pena could be that, and they obviously thought wrong and failed.
