  1. I've been a slacker this season, but I will finally be in attendance tonight. Don't Stop Now!
  2. Those pro wrestlers have been dropping like flies..
  3. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 19, 2011 -> 09:28 PM) Ross has some funky mechanics. I'm a bit scared of the Twins coming back to life. That team has had everything go wrong, they're not exactly untalented. I'm still not convinced the old Justin Morneau is back either. He's had a good week, but I will still wait to see if the MVP-caliber player returns.
  4. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 20, 2011 -> 11:16 AM) <!--quoteo(post=2382997:date=May 20, 2011 -> 11:10 AM:name=southsider2k5)-->QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 20, 2011 -> 11:10 AM) <!--quotec-->You didn't pick up Shaq's CD? He had a good verse in What's Up Doc by the Fu-Schnickens. Beat me to it!! Didn't see your post when I posted.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 20, 2011 -> 11:10 AM) You didn't pick up Shaq's CD? What's up Doc? Can we rock? I wonder what Fu-Schnickens is up to these days.
  6. QUOTE (ChrisLikesBaseball @ May 20, 2011 -> 11:15 AM) Jon Garland and Mark Buehrle have pretty similar stat lines from 2005-2011. Garland has made $48.35 million in this time, Buehrle has made $79.5 million (both including 2011 season). It's impressive what staying with one organization can do for your paycheck. I'll be there tonight to cheer for the great Juan Uribe. I don't if Buehrle has been $30 million better, but I think his stat line has definitely been better than Garland's has been. Also consider Garland has spent half that time in the NL West, including one season in Petco Park.
  7. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 20, 2011 -> 09:27 AM) Parks & Rec was epic last night. Hilarious. I'm still upset that I only started watching that show like a month or two ago, what was I thinking? Ron Swanson is my hero.
  8. QUOTE (Tex @ May 20, 2011 -> 09:22 AM) Treat them the same as every other player on an opposing team? It's been six years. Maybe you do something the following season if they were gone, but it's been too long. I like the gesture, but not sox years later. And neither of them have been to the Cell since. It's not like they will base the entire weekend's activities around them and mention them every half-inning. Just show them a little respect & gratitude and then go on with the mediocre baseball. What's the big deal? If the fans really want to show them something extra, they will when either player comes to bat (Garland on Sat.)
  9. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ May 20, 2011 -> 07:56 AM) What's your (and the overall city's) opinion on the move if they aren't called the Jets? I'm not a Winnepegian, but I would assume they could call the team the Ass-Clowns, and they'd still be excited just to have NHL hockey back in town.
  10. Sox have faced Carmona twice in 45 games, a total of 8 innings, but they have scored 10.4% of their runs against him.
  11. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 20, 2011 -> 07:16 AM) He probably would have blown it without the error. That guy flat out sucked. And he still sucks in ATL now. I just remembered that the hatred for him was so strong that postgame nobody (other than Hawk) gave a s*** about the Getz error and the fact that Linebrink could have been out of the inning.
  12. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ May 20, 2011 -> 06:55 AM) I will never forgive Ozzie for leaving in Linebrink against the Cubs at Wrigley field. I forget which year it was but we all knew it was the wrong decision and it cost us the game. We had a 5-1 lead going into the 8th and we could've thrown Thornton and Jenks at them and instead we gave them Liney, the Cubs scored 4 in the 8th and one in the 10th to win it as I recall. A Chris Getz error started the inning and forced Linebrink to get 4 outs, all runs unearned.
  13. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 19, 2011 -> 03:42 PM) Except the indictments were brought down today, which is new news. Alot newer and relevant that some of the s*** I've been seeing in college football headlines thats for sure. I'm still holding out hope that ESPN will retract its inaccurate story about Thad Gibson getting his car for free, but im not holding my breath. http://espn.go.com/blog/bigten/post/_/id/2...on-paid-for-car
  14. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 19, 2011 -> 03:24 PM) It's ok everyone, Mark Gonzales just tweeted: "Juan Pierre out for early bunting practice." So no worries, we got this... I saw "Juan Pierre out" and I thought he was out for the game. Then I read the rest.
  15. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 19, 2011 -> 01:51 PM) Front Page news on ESPN, OSU's AD supports Tressel. Buried way into the NCAA page, 4 Auburn players indicted for their roles in armed robbery. Are you on Tressel's payroll?
  16. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 19, 2011 -> 02:37 PM) The goalie carousel has finally come to a stop! This, of course, just means he'll be terrible next year and we'll wind up eating his contract. I hope he likes Switzerland Great news, deal is worth $8 million total. Solid young goalie for a good price, can't complain.
  17. Heads up, this video is NSFW. Apparently, the Green Men couldn't make it to the game last night. Lucky for Ben Eager, a young lady took over their job. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqGJ5biohPc...player_embedded
  18. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ May 19, 2011 -> 09:55 AM) So you're pointing to three times he's been "clutch" to support your claim, but I can't rely on the 2-15 or whatever they've been this season in the final minutes? I find it telling that Brian Windhorst, Lebron's media mouthpiece, wrote a story this morning about how Lebron is FINALLY starting to become more clutch. He, like you, relies on his performance against Boston (a team that was so clearly overrated and outmatched since they were old and playing with a significant defensive piece with one arm) and this one game (out of four) against the Bulls. Fair is fair. I will ignore what they did during this regular season, and you ignore all the previous success that Lebron & Wade have had. Then we will both be right.
  19. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 19, 2011 -> 09:35 AM) We are almost through May, and Adam Dunn has 4 homers. For all of that [correct] talk about him being the most consistent player in baseball over the last 8-10 years, it looks like we'll be the lucky recipients of the season that breaks that trend. I don't see him hitting 40 this year anymore. That's just our luck, it seems. I blame Greg Walker
  20. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ May 19, 2011 -> 09:30 AM) I think it's overplayed, but I think you guys are overselling how good LBJ and Wade are. Go look at the stats. They haven't been good this year, especially Lebron. All the talent in the world doesn't matter if you aren't clutch when it matters. Has Lebron been better? Sure, but really, he hasn't been asked to win a game with a shot (like in the final regular season match-up). Last night he hit an open three on Korver, who was 4 feet away, with 2 seconds on the shot clock. He hit a fadeaway spin 18 footer in a bailout. Noah made a dumb foul on Wade that gave him two shots. The rest is history. As Balta said, the way they close games doesn't work the majority of the time. Are you going to disregard all of the clutch performances and shots that LBJ/Wade have had before this season? I know this is their first time playing together, but it does take a while to figure it out. And it worked against Boston twice and last night.
  21. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ May 19, 2011 -> 09:30 AM) The game changed when Asik got knocked out with the cut on his chin. The Bulls had the momentum. Lebron and Wade couldn't get any penetration because of the help defense that Asik provided. They were standing around taking terrible jump shots. After he left that defensive intensity was gone. Miami (smartly) attacked Korver and took over. Also, Spoelstra is a terrible coach. Not taking out Haslem for the first 5 min of the 4th should have been their undoing. He got bailed out by the Bulls playing a terrible quarter. How about the refs giving Wade as much time as he needed to wipe the blood of his arm? They waited for him to be ready, even after the 20 second timeout. On the Haslem thing, I think everyone but Spolestra knew that Haslem should sit at the start of the 4th quarter, only he didn't realize that.
  22. Bieksa with the Gordie Howe hat trick last night. Marleau never really stood a chance, and it's looking like neither do the Sharks.
