  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 01:47 PM) If not, who is in? Krueger back? @ESPNChiHawks Jesse Rogers Q: kopy out. Looks like pisani and Kruger in Scott could remain in in which case either pisani or Kruger would stay out

    Grillin?

My new home has a outdoor hook-up to the house's gas supply, so no need to ever worry about an empty propane tank, which is sweet.
  3. When he proposed, I hope he got down on his healthy knee.
  4. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 11:34 AM) I've been saying that Pierzynski will be the black hole in the lineup since day one. You know that guy who seems to come up in a big situation almost every game and you just have to sigh and accept the fact that he's going to GIDP? That guy. The guy hitting .400 w/ RISP this season. (I know, sample size, only 20 ABs) The guy who hit .301 w. RISP last year, .320 w/ 2 outs. That guy.
  5. QUOTE (southsidepride15 @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 10:55 AM) As much as I hate the Yankees and their fans, I think some of those cheers after A-Rod's single were for Humber and his efforts toward a no-hit bid. Cub fans wouldn't even have known the situation let alone applaud it, but I believe the fans last night had some appreciation for what they were witnessing. I was at the Lilly/Floyd no-hit duel at Wrigley last year, and I would have to say this comment is compltely false. In fact, in the seats near me, the ones that were treating the situation in the wrong manner were the Sox fans.

  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 08:37 AM) There is no way this team thinks this series is over. No doubt. I wasn't as much worried about the Hawks mental state going into the game as much as mine, lol. All the Nucks had to do was win 1 game out of 4, and they can still do that at home and make the last 3 games for naught. Only 12 more hours til puck drop!
  8. I think IlliniKrush hit the nail on the head, I hope Q checks the board and reads it too. In the Chicago media, it seems that the Hawks comeback and Canucks collapse are predestined, which is making me nervous about the outcome. It is a game 7, anything can happen. Get it done boys, Niemi & the Sharks are waiting.
  9. QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 07:29 AM) Am I the only one who's reminded of former Cub Moises Alou when I see Rios' batting stance? Maybe urine on the hands is the answer?
  10. QUOTE (3E8 @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 11:25 PM) re: Jose Bautista's extension I had another post where I explained exactly why Bautista's emergence came out of nowhere, but I cannot find it. Currently leading baseball in HR and OPS. Thanks for calling me out! I do remember the post with all the sabermetric stats basically explaining how Bautista was for real. I chose to ignore all those stats and thought it was a fluke. After one month, I am dead wrong.
  11. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 05:09 PM) Gillis just called out the refs in his press conference. http://www.teamradio.ca/wp-content/uploads...officiating.mp3 Calls Scott "A goon, who only does one thing, punches guys in the face." "If the game was conducted properly we win because we have the better team." He's kinda right about the bolded part. I think he's just trying to move the pressure and media away from his team to him with those comments.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 04:52 PM) No....that's by definition "above average" since average is 81 wins. Technically, one game over .500 is above average as well, so that makes his point wrong too.
  13. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 11:48 AM) Luongo is a mental midget who can't play in the playoffs, but he just can't be moved fiscally. What's funny is that he has won an Olympic Gold Medal, a World Championship and is 1-0 in game 7s. But the Hawks have turned him into a choking mental midget. Guess who was announced as starter of game 7...
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 04:42 PM) I'm just saying we all should bow down to Bud about interleague play, because without it, the Sox have been average at best for a while. I don't think you needed to exclude interleague play to come up with that point. Even with it, they have averaged 83-84 wins the last 5 years and made the playoffs once. That's average in my book.
  15. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 04:09 PM) Anyone ripping Bud Selig should take it back, because without interleague play the Sox haven't been good. They are 5 games under .500 vs. AL teams the past 5+ seasons. Why do they play the interleague games if they don't count? Do they not let the Twins or Tigers play NL teams?
  16. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 03:03 PM) I'm betting 99% of those are about how the refs screwed them. The Blackhawks have had 12 more power plays in the series than Vancouver. The next largest discrepancy in a playoff series this year is 5.

  18. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 12:47 PM) I'm convinced that they could get rid of Ozzie, stick a mannequin in the dugout with a Sox cap on its head, and manage the game asking viewers to text lineups and game decisions via the Aflac poll and get the same or better results. I bet you could do that with many managers in the league.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 12:40 PM) That is kind of how I felt when I proposed it, but the guy accepted it instantly. It made me pause to see if I was missing something. Hanley is hitting under .200 so I'm sure the guy is worried about him. I think he'll be fine and that should be a great trade for you
  20. I f***ing love hockey! That was awesome. COREY. CRAWFORD. It's gonna be an interesting decision for Vignault on Tuesday. Schnieder looked much better in the net, but he had some issues when he left the net that cost them dearly. Luongo did not look comfortable at all, gave up some juicy rebounds and couldn't even catch the puck on normal wrist shots. But once he came in after the penalty shot, the Canucks seemed to turn it on and they outplayed the Hawks from that point forward. Fortunately, Crawford outplayed Luongo and the Hawks got the W. If Schneider is healthy, I'd go with him again.
  21. wow, Nashville ties it with 35 seconds left then gets a winner on the road two minutes into OT to take a 3-2 lead...great series
  22. QUOTE (zenryan @ Apr 22, 2011 -> 11:40 PM) There has been some incredible games the past couple of nights. As soon as I had said that, Nashville tied it up and sent it to OT. When the season ended, these were the two teams I was rooting for the most (other than Hossas crew) and of course they had to play each other.
