  1. QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 27, 2011 -> 03:18 PM) Correct me if I am wrong, but I think I just won our pool because I am the only one who picked a Final Four team. Everyone else is 0/4. Ha I would almost feel bad taking the money...Almost. I think you are right. And I got second despite having all of my final four teams knocked out before the Elite 8.
  2. The bad thing about VCU in the Final Four is that it gives all the supporters of a 96-team bracket so much ammo. If the last team in can make it that far, why couldn't the 70th or 80th team do it too? Get ready for that argument.
  3. This is awesome. Come on Rams, 20 more minutes!
  4. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Mar 26, 2011 -> 05:34 PM) In my opinion, the only schools that Stevens will touch are: Indiana Ohio State Michigan State Duke UNC Kansas UCLA I concur. If he didn't leave last year, there is no way he jumps for some mid-level BCS job like Missouri or Tennessee. I only see him leaving for a top-flight job like the ones you mentioned. He's also so young, he still has plenty of time to wait for the right job for him.l That being said, once VCU's season ends, I see their coach grabbing one of those BCS jobs within the next 48 hours.
  5. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Mar 27, 2011 -> 11:16 AM) Because the kids he's locked up havn't arrived yet. They start next year with Zeller and Etherington, then 2012 the #1 class in the country arrives. Not fair to Crean to judge him quite yet. I know. Also not fair to say he's dominating like no one else has until the kids actually step foot on the court and win a game or two.
  6. I don't like how this is brought up as an old fan vs. young fan premise. There are old fans who live and die with every game and b**** about every move more than the young people on this site do and they lived through all the same bad Sox teams. Anyone who has been to a small neighborhood bar in Chicago knows that there are old fans way crazier and more intense than anyone on this site. It just has to do with how people choose to enjoy their sports. Some let it control their life and live & die with every game. Some enjoy it for the sport it is and can step away as soon as the game is over. To each their own.
  7. QUOTE (The Critic @ Mar 27, 2011 -> 09:31 AM) Stars are right there, too, with the same # of games played. I still think the Hawks get in, but there is reason for concern. My drunken self chose to ignore the Stars completely. It's nice to have less games played than everyone else, as opposed to the 1st half of the season, just gotta win now.
  8. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Mar 26, 2011 -> 06:24 PM) I wouldn't even say cleaning up, I'd say dominating. Knight didn't even lock down the state like Crean has. Locking down the state hasn't even earned him an NIT bid yet.
  9. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 26, 2011 -> 11:40 PM) Hawks lose, Ducks pass, weak sauce. still in 8th place, Flames have played 3 more, no need to get worried yet
  10. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Mar 26, 2011 -> 06:17 PM) I don't see VCU beating KU but Butler has something magical going for them, I wouldn't count them out in a game against Kansas. I concur. I see no way that Butler matches up with KU but that has been said several times about Butler and it still happens. Go Bulldogs!
  11. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 26, 2011 -> 08:56 PM) So a team that lost 5 games in the Horizon league and the 9th place Big East team are in the final 4 and there is still the possibility that they are joined by a 4 seed and a team that was one of the last 4 in the tournament. College basketball was filled with awful teams this year. I hear this every year. This is what happens in a one and out basketball tournament. That's why the NBA goes best of 7. The best college team just got eliminated and the second best doesn't have to play anyone til the Final Four.

    i am drunk

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Mar 27, 2011 -> 02:42 AM) Did I really just eat 3 sausage mcmuffins, 4 hash browns and a box of pizza rolls? just had 4 Del Tacos and friees with cheese....life is good out west
  13. He won us a World Series six years ago by getting traded for Sweaty Freddy...thats all that needs to be brought up
  14. Just noticed that I'm first in the pay bracket, but have 0 teams left. If VCU/Butler/Kentucky/Arizona all win this weekend, then 1st place is mine!!!
  15. Cashner wins the 5th spot in the rotation, Silva will not make the roster. Cubs will still be on the hook for his $11.5 million salary if they release him.
  16. In 1990, UNLV made the Final 4 playing a 16, 8, 12, 11. So Illinois "upset" of UNLV made Kansas's path one seed tougher technically.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 26, 2011 -> 09:39 AM) Kansas is the first team ever to get to the EE while playing teams ranked in double-digits. Illinois was a 9?
  18. QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Mar 24, 2011 -> 09:30 PM) I agree with all of this. It should also be noted that the Reds are paying Chapman a conciderable amount of money to close, something I am not a fan of at all. I'd rather see money go to guys who appear in you know, more than 60 innings a year. Is Chapman even closing? I thought Francisco Corders was still there making tons of coin to close.
  19. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Mar 25, 2011 -> 11:02 AM) I think we had a crazy predictions thread, but I'm just going to put this here. I'm going to say that the Phillies don't even make the playoffs. And if they do, they lose in the first round. I think the first scenario is more likely than the second. I could see them have a battle to make the playoffs, but once they get there I think they will do well.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 25, 2011 -> 10:39 AM) Yankees have added Kevin Millwood to the rotation mix. Be scared Boston.....Be very, very scared
  21. And considering that Floyd is probably our 3rd/4th best starter and there are about 70 starters in the AL, I'll take it.
  22. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Mar 24, 2011 -> 11:43 AM) Hyperbole aside, it was a steal considering Weth signed for a billion dollars a couple days later. Compared to the Werth deal & other deals, than yeah it is quite the steal. If Dunn does produce like he has every year, then I think $14 mil a year is about what he should be paid and is worth. Now the Thome deal with the Twins last year, that was the steal of the century.
  23. Stalberg with a goal on the line with 19-88. Who needs Sharpie?
