  1. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Mar 14, 2011 -> 11:45 AM) I feel fairly confident Tennessee will lose to Michigan in the 1st round b/c we're just so damn inconsistent. But, I also could see us making a Sweet 16 run, knocking off Duke and it wouldn't shock me. That's why I hate this team so much. There's no telling who's going to show up. Looks like they showed up but forgot to come out for the second half.
  2. QUOTE (3E8 @ Mar 17, 2011 -> 08:40 PM) He'd be a perfect platoon with Quentin if you believe Carlos' reverse splits are legit. But not many people do. Do you believe his home/road splits the last two seasons are legit? If so, maybe it should be a home/road platoon. 2008 he crushed anywhere, but that was TCQ, a whole different person.
  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 17, 2011 -> 09:30 PM) Voluntarily. I would think they would actually like that to be in the news. You want it in the news but you don't want it to be a top story. The more people talk about Tressel committing violations, the worse it is for OSU, no matter what the reason is. Releasing it during the NCAA tourney gets it in the news, but lets it quickly slip onto the back page. That way, you can start getting back to talking football, and not violations. It's a good thing that Tressel "voluntarily" took the extra 3 games, but you don't want his breaking of the rules in the 1st place to stay all over the headlines.
  4. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 18, 2011 -> 10:47 AM) I thought he said today (announced it on Waddle & Silvy) but maybe it was this weekend. It does not make the effort less amazing. No doubt, he's the man. When I grow up, I wanna be just like Scal.
  5. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 18, 2011 -> 10:37 AM) Indiana is a stones throw from Chicago. So the Bulls fly home from NJ, just to wake up and fly to Indiana for a game that starts at 6 PM Central? Instead of flying straight from NJ to Indiana?
  6. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 18, 2011 -> 10:06 AM) Brian "White Mamba" Scalabrine, because he missed a shot to get the Bulls 100 points the other night, is going to be at a McDonald's downtown today and is buying Big Mac's for the first 100 folks to show up in Bulls gear. His legend is growing, and this is the most like-able team of all-time. Not to call you out, but the Bulls were in New Jersey last night and play in Indiana tonight. Does Scalabrine not travel on road trips?
  7. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 17, 2011 -> 12:08 PM) I'm not just saying this because Clemson is playing well (I can't actually see the game but they are winning) but does anyone else think playing in the play in game will actually be beneficial for teams. People will point to the short rest but you get a game under your belt and get rid of the jitters that comes from playing in the NCAA tourney since you have already won a game. This may be true if a team gets a better schedule. Clemson finished playing Tuesday night after 11 PM, flew straight to Tampa, getting there at the early hours of the morning. Then had a game around noon on Thursday, I assume cause the networks wanted MSU/UCLA at night. That's 36 hours between games with travel, they only had a shootaround Wednesday, no real practice. I guess that goes with the territory if you are a last team in, but it is still was a huge disadvantage. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Mar 17, 2011 -> 10:22 PM) Having the option to watch every game is so awesome. I really hope this becomes the norm in the future. I was about to post the same thing.
  8. Ugh, Detroit won, Calgary is winning, Nashville scored late to get to OT and win, Dallas obviously won. Worst possible outcomes and Bolland/Campbell are hurt. The chase for Detroit is back to a fight for a playoff spot. Game vs. Phoenix might be a must win.
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 17, 2011 -> 09:55 AM) Nice, come on people! I suggest second place gets money back, first takes the rest. Thoughts? In
  10. The more I look at the bracket, the more I think all 4 #1 seeds are gonna make the Final Four. It happened a few years ago so why not? Kansas beats OSU in the final (Hopefully that jinxes KU)
  11. QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 16, 2011 -> 05:49 PM) I'd volunteer to be a tackling dummy for 100k. Adam Archuleta got $5 million from the Bears to basically be a tackling dummy in 2007, set your aim higher!
  12. @ScottMCBSSports My new hero: As part of weight gain pgm, Lincecum's typical In-N-Out order: 3 double-doubles, 2 fries, one shake (1/2 choc, 1/2 strawberry)
  13. This reminds me of the Elton Brand e-mail exchange a few years back.
  14. Sox lineup vs. Lincecum: Pierre lf Beckham 2b Dunn dh Konerko 1b Rios cf Quentin rf AJ c Ramirez ss Morel 3b Buehrle p Looks like the opening day lineup
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 16, 2011 -> 09:17 AM) Call it what you will, but really, do you want to be the one making fun of Japan right now? Yeah, you are probably right. A joke about the housing market doesnt seem as bad, but yeah, its probably not the best time for that. Especially when you are trying to advance your career in radio.
  16. Wow. That song is the most amazingly awful thing I have ever heard!
  17. QUOTE (PeavyTime @ Mar 15, 2011 -> 07:20 PM) Japanese Housing Market was removed. They should replace it with the "wussification of America" It has now been changed to Sex & the City 2. Awful. Political correctness strikes again.
  18. Flipping thru the radio stations on my morning commute, I suddenly heard two familiar voices....Eddie & Jobo. Is there really no one else in Chicago to fill a morning radio spot other than those two old jokers???
  19. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Mar 15, 2011 -> 02:14 PM) Adrian Peterson: "(The NFL) is modern-day slavery.... People kind of laugh at that, but there are people working at regular jobs who get treated the same way, too. With all the money . . . the owners are trying to get a different percentage, and bring in more money.” HUH??? Yo Adrian. "Modern-day" slavery does exist. Maybe not in America, but in other parts of the world there are still are people forced into slavery. Maybe we should ask them how similar the NFL is to their lives?
  20. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Mar 15, 2011 -> 05:47 AM) Oakland A's Andrew Bailey has left his ST with a pain/discomfort in his elbow.. will constult dr. Andruws.. :-/ He already had TJ surgery back in 2005 and just saw Dr. Andrews in September to clean out the elbow.
  21. QUOTE (PeavyTime @ Mar 14, 2011 -> 09:09 PM) Anyone listen to B&B on the Score? The tournament of bad brackets were announced today. The Japanese housing market is my pick to win it all! http://chicago.cbslocal.com/tournament-of-bad/ Thanks for posting, I forgot about it. -How is ND Student Safety a 16-seed in the play-in matchup? Way underseeded. It could take out #1 Mike Singletary in the 1st round. -Antonio Cromartie's Birth Control is my sleeper pick for the Final 4 -LOL at Terry's #2, Hopping onto LSD in the middle of a blizzard
  22. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Mar 15, 2011 -> 01:56 AM) Just want to say that I was recently at the Univ of Limerick visiting a friend studying abroad there, and it's an okay campus, the school is only like 30-40 years old I believe. The city itself is pretty depressing, think the Detroit of Ireland. I will say that Cork is just a 1-2 hr bus ride away and is a really great place. I visited Cork a few years ago and IMO that city seemed like the Detroit of Ireland.
  23. QUOTE (PeavyTime @ Mar 15, 2011 -> 07:55 AM) I just realized most people don't get TruTV. And if your home team is playing on TruTV, it is not switched to CBS, so you are f***ed. Dumb. I was worried about that last night, but I found TruTV on Comcast. Never realized I had the channel and have no idea what kind of programming it has either?
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 14, 2011 -> 02:25 PM) Yeah, but those are just the lowest picked teams, why not the worst four overall? I would say a team that earned a birth based on a whole season, versus just winning three or four straight games at end of a season deserves it more. I agree 100%. I think its even dumber that they have play-in games for both the worst overall & worst at-large. At least be consistent and either have the worst 8 overall teams or the worst 8 at-large teams in the play-in round.. Not a few of these teams and a few of those teams.
